5 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Fans of Christopher Lawrence.......2007-05-31

If you like progressive techo or a fan of Christopher Lawrence, you must get this album. The whole album is just great. It keeps you wanting more. Every song was excellent. I would have to say this his best work so far.

5 out of 5 stars A release as it should be!.......2007-05-10

This was an excellent set! Both discs are solid, really no intros, he just gets down to business. Sound quality is superb. Anyone normally leary of buying released material, and rightfully so, will not ne disappointed with this album. The only complaint I have is that it was not 3 or 4 discs. Defintely buy this album!

5 out of 5 stars Simply the best.......2007-04-10

Its one of the best cd's of 2007 so far . From the beginning to end goes BaaaNG, R0Cks.

4 out of 5 stars the last song!.......2007-05-15

the last song! there are two full disc of fairly good tracts but the last song on disc 2 is loco way man!

5 out of 5 stars Tung tung.......2006-11-18

I like pop & dance music, and this cd is the perfect speed which I'm looking for, that's so great actually, it's worth to own one in your music world.

5 out of 5 stars A Memorable Mix! If you can spare the Money... Get It........2006-11-16

This was one of my 1st CDs I bought out of any other Gatecrasher Mix out there. Both the 1st and 2nd disc contain many memorable beats and remixes, yet it does take a few listens to really appreciate the entire mix. When I first bought this CD I felt some regret in exchanging the money for it, but after I listened to both CD1 and CD2, I felt that the money in exchange was well worth it. However, GC-GSS - Latitude and Longitude is a piece of art that will not appeal to everyone. There are some tracks in these CDs I prefer skipping, F.E. "Warrior" - it's a little cheezy - But there are many memorable productions and remixes compiled in this 2 CD mix. That is why I round this out to a 5, because on 1st impression I was very doubtful but now it is one of my irreplacable Jems in my music collection because the Mix was just that excellent. To anyone who is looking to purchase these CDs, if you can spare the money... It's worth it!

Last but not least, One recommendation: Gatecrasher Wet is a nice compilation. If your a little too hesitant to buy Gatecrasher Global Sound System: Latitude and Longitude, you shouldn't be disappointed with Gatecrasher Wet. - Odd name but excellent beats.

5 out of 5 stars Insert, Raise Volume to Highest Setting, Play.......2003-06-26

Having owned almost all of the gatecrasher CDs, I must share that this is among the top three. The BPMs are perfect, as are the synthesizers, vocals, and melodies. Sure, some of these tracks are on other CDs, but then again, there is only one Gatecrasher sound. Enjoy...

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good set.......2002-09-09

4 stars should say it all. Not a bad set at all, especially after a few disappointments like Digital/Black, and Experience 2002. Very nice selection of tracks, especially on CD #1. Mixing as always very precise. Second CD deserves a 3 star rating, as it gets a bit boring and heavy at the end. Overall a very decent compilation. Don't expect to be blown away by it, but nevertheless very enjoyable experience overall.

2 out of 5 stars Not as hardcore as it should/could be........2006-12-02

Being a huge Gatecrasher and Cream fan for quite some time, I was excited about this new release. Well after alot of anticipation for it's arrival, I am a little disappointed. It really doesn't have the hardcore feel of previous releases. It isn't bad....but it it isn't great. It is not because of the choice of tracks that is to blame, just the choice of remixes. Many friends have listened to this compilation also, and share similar opinions. Want something better? Choose an Gatecrasher compilation from 2002 - 2005....You'll Love it!

5 out of 5 stars Review from old school raver.......2006-11-10

I dont come around good trance music that is really uplifting and hipnotic at the same time, Gatecrasher has always offered that. This CD is very very very good. You get hard after hours CD 2 trance on one CD uplifting serotonin release on CD 1 and house on CD 3 but I personaly like more of a tribal house and what gatecrasher offers is more of a day house music for driving if you know what I mean. Hope my review will help

3 out of 5 stars Great Anthems , and botched effort to mix anthems represent a grand money-making scheme.......2005-08-12

If you are new to trance, or want every Gatecrasher album released, then you might consider forking down $31 for this album. So while this album represents a collective reprisal of Who's-who under the sunrise, this album has more important issues besides the colorful slip-case.

    1) Terrible track ordering. Lack of atmosphere and vibe when you mix Moonman's Orange Theme right after Beachball. Seems like they pulled them randomly from a hat.
    2) terrible mixing. computer mixed, and the computer does a bad job at it.
    3) Track times. In CD 1, you're trying to fit 17 tracks into under 80 minutes, which allows each track about 4 minutes on average. Why try to fit 50 tracks onto 3 CDs and create a CD that sounds like a collection of samples?
    4) the Gatecrasher name has been tarnished. Some of Crasher's foremost DJs like Matt Hardwick and Scott Bond have left for sunnier venues.
    5) many of these tracks were featured on previous Crasher albums like Gatecrasher Black. Heaven forbid that Gatecrasher imitate Ministry of Sound!

5 out of 5 stars A must have if you like trance.......2005-08-10

This 3 disk series covers some of the best new and old trance ever made. everyone of these songs is an absolute classic remixed to perfection.

5 out of 5 stars Defintely worth reliving the old classics........2005-08-09

There isn't a song on this 3 CD set that didn't make me go back to some point in the past 15 years, that I've been listening to techno as a whole, and made me remember how friggin' good it really was back in the day. There is an occassional lull in CD3, but the lull is far outweighed by the skill in which these CDs are mixed. For the true enthusiast, they're are mixed in the style that you would've heard them when the songs themselves were first played. A true classic in every sense.

2 out of 5 stars Waste of time and money.......2005-08-03

You've heard them all before, and most were -- and still are -- great tracks. But this three disc compilation is a shameless throw-together. The mix is uninspired, the engineering is so-so, and disc three makes no sense at all. Overall, bad execution of a reasonably good idea.

5 out of 5 stars Great clubbing Tracks.......2001-10-30

I recently bought this CD not having heard a Gatecrasher title before. I am now addicted to Gatecrasher and a major fan of Trance, House, Progressive and Breakbeat and Paul Oakenfold. This has fantastic club tracks such as APEX - VIRTUOSO. The first CD has so much bass and the second CD has excellent tunes and grooves. This CD can be heard best on a huge stereo system where the bass is pumpin' and the tunes are groovin'. This CD will have you dancing for hours. A MUST FOR ANY DANCE/TRANCE LOVER OR JUST ANYONE WHO APPRECIATES GOOD MUSIC. GO GET IT.

5 out of 5 stars Buy the Import version - Beware the Domestic release.......2001-07-06

In my opinion one of the best releases in the Gatecrasher series, and much, much better than National Anthems. It faithfully reminded me of being at Gatecrasher in Sheffield this past New Year's Eve.

Be sure you buy the Import version and NOT the Domestic release. ... the domestic release LACKS some of the best tracks that the import has: Delerium "Innoncente," Ratty "Sunrise (Here I Am)," Blaze "My Beat."

Amazon only carries the import version right now, but if you shop around you may come across the "cheaper" domestic (the domestic says "Mixed By Scott Bond" on the front cover, while the import does not) so beware. Since Scott Bond is one of Gatecrasher's long-time residents, the import is probably mixed by him as well (it sounds like it.)

4 out of 5 stars Think very carefully before buying this CD.......2001-06-24

First off, I only bought this CD yesterday. I hope it grows on me as I listen to it more often. I saw the ad for this CD on TV, and heard the song playing in the background. I knew from then on I needed to get this song. So, I went and looked at the tracklist, figured out which was the song I wanted, tried to download it. Bad luck - it had been blocked. I sat fuming at my computer, wondering what to do. My only choice would be to buy the CD. I did. And I brought it home and listened to it. Quite a few of these tracks (especially at the start of the CD's), seem to be filler material. And yes, I know that DJ's like to gradually get louder and faster (more 'anthemic', if you will), as their set continues, but after listening to the first five tracks of CD2 and not hearing an actual tune, I began to wonder. Then I skipped ahead to 'Release Me' by Factor 9 - Without a doubt the best song in the album, and one of my favourites ever. This was the song they had playing on the ad. I listened to it and sat in a state of dazed euphoria until the shocking 'Dr. King's Dream' came on. Only a dairy farm could out-cheese this beast. I put CD1 in, and listened to it from the start, but got bored again. I listened to Starving Dolphins, Virtuoso and Labyrinth - songs I had expected to be great but weren't quite as good as I expected. 'OK', I thought, 'I'll give it a chance', and I am doing that now. I may find some gems on here and if so, I am sorry for misleading you all, but remember: You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

5 out of 5 stars If you liked the other Gatecrasher CDs you'll like this one........2001-06-07

If you enjoyed the other Gatecrasher CD's, especially the original Disco-tech set, you'll enjoy this one. You know the drill by now: A bit of progressive house for the warm up, followed by the anthemic, epic trance that Gatecrasher is so justly famous for. The next best thing to being there.

And to respond to the reviewer that asked about the slow beginnings to the CD's:

These disks are crafted by real DJ's. If you just want 2 disks full of cheesy trance anthems, there are better places to look than Gatecrasher. Trust me, 2 hours of build, breakdown, melody, rinse, repeat, is very boring. It's better to gradually build a set up, so when you get to an amazing anthem, like this set's "Lost Emotion", you can't help but get up and dance.

If you like this CD, I also recommend Tiesto's new Revolution set.

    4 out of 5 stars ok..........2001-05-07

The tracklisting is quite impressive, rather uncommercial so its not like you're gonna find those tracks on your local radio station. Chances are that most of the songs won't even make it to CD pressing. I think people here who say that the first CD is garbage really don't have any clue about european dance music. Delerium feat. Leigh Nash - Innocente [Tiesto mix] is garbage?? Beam and Yanou - The Freefall is garbage?? Max Graham - Falling Together is garbage?? Tenth Planet - Ghosts is garbage?? Moogwai - Labyrinth is garbage??? That's just not true. The first CD very much like the second picks up slowly as you head towards the end of the disc :) It's basically like in any real club or discotech - you begin with a warm up set, then work your way up to the anthems to keep the crowd on the dancefloor

The musical style of the entire album can be described as progressive trance, and thats just what it is! There is no funky house (or any sort of house for that matter)

Now I want to touch on an issue that really made me wanna return this album right back to where I bought it from: Gatecrasher is a mixed compilation and all the tracks were mixed using vinyl records. However, the restoration work to remove some of the artifacts associated with vinyl was just horrible and very unprofessional!! Considering that the label who puts together this CD is a spinoff of Sony Music surely they could do a lot better than that. That's my only complaint about this album, which is why I'm giving it 4/5

    5 out of 5 stars Spectacular.......2003-10-10

I was a little worried about buying this set b/c of the tone of some of the reviews, but I went ahead and did it and I regret nothing about it. This is a spectacular 3 CD set. The Bond CD is my fav, but the other 2 groove excellently as well. I would encourage anybody that likes trance to give this set a try. You won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars this set is alright.......2003-06-06

Ok CD 1 isn't all that great and that's really all I have as far as CD 1 is concerned.

CD 2 and 3 are awesome! 2 and 3 have that nice trance blend going for it along with progressive beats.
I gave it 4 stars because of 2 out of 3 being awesome isn't bad at all. More than I was expecting. :-)

3 out of 5 stars Not bad, but there are far better compilations out there.......2003-05-09

This album includes three CDs, but frankly I'd rather buy 1 or 2CD compilations such as PVD - Politics of Dancing or Tiesto - Magik 5,6 or Nyana for the same price and get a far more exciting album.

This album has a few really amazing tracks such as Plastic Boy - Silverbath, but for the most part it's pretty boring.

5 out of 5 stars Great Mix Compilation - GC does it again!.......2003-04-21

A must by for Trance fans!
This 3CD set rules! Nice tunes especially on the 2nd CD which is my fave of all the 3. Didn't care for the 3rd one as much.

Looking forward to the next installment of this sub-series which will be out on May 22nd, '03 I believe. :).

5 out of 5 stars Instant Party....Just Add Volume !!!.......2003-02-19

Holy cow....this 3 cd set from Gatecrasher is a mind blower !! If you are searching for a dance/party disc to add to your collection...or should I say to MAKE your collection....your search is over !! The song selection here is unparellelled...Bond, Hardwick and Halliwell have done their homework and found the most de-luscious, trance dancibles this planet has ever seen ! Here's the breakdown:

CD 1 - Scott Bond (My personal favorite) - This is a hard as nails, old school trance cd with the tracks sewn so perfectly together, Armani would be proud. The raw power and energy of this cd alone is worth the purchase. Songs like: "Sahara"; "Magik Impulse"; "Then They Start To Dance" and the king daddy of them all...."Drunk in Chicago".....yikes....you won't be able to find the floor because you will be plastered to the ceiling !! This is the full throttle power of standing in front of the speakers...angry, dark, dirty and delicious....you will dance until your feet hurt and then dance some more !

CD 2 - Matt Hardwick - This is the spiritual, progressive cd in the triad. The tunes are thoughtfully melded together to raise you up and let you soar. I like this one best when I'm sitting down so I can close my eyes and just fly....this is made for flying and gives your feet a rest while your mind goes into hyperspace !!

CD 3 - Eddie Halliwell - And after you've soured around the heavens....Mr. Halliwell commands you to get your booty back to the dance floor for another hard as nails set of dark club-style trance !! This cd is a masterful demonstration of what a great dj can do with the right music.....the song "Follow Me" sums it up best.....Halliwell is going to take you to the highest heights of the night.

Overall this 3 cd set welcomes back the glory days of hard clubstyle trance....and gives it a modern face-lift !! The sets progresses masterfully from cd 1 to cd 3....this is a perfect party in a pretty pink box.....actually its florescent pink so you can find it in the dark !! You'll want to invite all your friends over...turn off the the lights, kick on the strobes and crank up the volume until the knob breaks off !! This one will get you arrested for holding a rave in your house/flat/condo...whatever...but you'll be smiling the whole time !! Five lollie rating and all cherry at that !! This could be the best cd for 2003 and the year just started !!

    5 out of 5 stars Gatecrasher's Most Honored Mix........2006-11-16

First off, if you're looking for this CD, it will obviously be difficult to find. If you happen to find it available at a more suitable price than $50, as some rare import CDs might cost, don't hesitate to pick this one up. I've listened to other Gatecrashers and no other seems to match up to this one. I really have to highlight CD2 of this set since it is truly amazing. Apache - Starfighter is simply just a 30 second intro that trasitions to Morrighan's - Remember (To the Millenium), a very attractive vocal, which then explodes into the remaining trance arsenal. Each track is a warhead ready to make an impression on your ears. Truly this is one of Gatecrashers, in my opinion, Most Honored Mix. Therefore get this one! If you don't know which of the Gatecrashers to get at first, start with this one. Buy the MP3s if you have to, you will not regret it.

5 out of 5 stars The best trance cd around..........2006-07-27

My copy of Gatecrasher Wet was unfortunately stolen, along with my car...I guess thieves are into trance these days. Because I'm a cheap %$#@! I've yet to re-purchase another copy and have relied on Limewire to download as many songs from the Wet cd as possible. Highlights are "We Came", "The Hymn", "Saltwater" and basically everything on Disc 1. If you like Gregorian, and Celtic trance, you'll fall in love with this compilation. Another favorite is Gatecrasher Disco Tech, though it has a few cheesy tracks peppered throughout.

5 out of 5 stars The best trance album I have ever heard.......2003-11-11

After a friend recommended this, i bought it straight away. I was amazed. I have never been able to discover an album where every song is good, and mixing has been so dreamy! Now mine is scratched badly and finding it again has been a nightmare, I recommend this to any trance bunny. And listen to track 11 on disc 2, "I believe" by Lange, its a classic. Thank u amazon for having it in stock!

5 out of 5 stars Electronic Aficionado finds this a CLASSIC!.......2003-11-11

I have all the Gatecrasher cd's and tons of electronic compilations, and this is by far the best. This was my first electronic cd and it has been impossible to find any to match it. The songs are extremely beautiful and danceable. The cd never gets boring or repetitive. There is a mix of beautiful and dreamy tracks to the hard and pumping ones.

You cannot go wrong with this compilation. It is absolutely perfect.

    2 out of 5 stars Dissapointing............2002-08-29

After I got my hands and almost immediately fell in love with Gatecrasher Discotech set, I rushed out to get this one - Digital. Very, very disappointing experience. There are 3 CD's in this set. One of them is chill out CD, which is slow and mellow, and it delivers no more and no less than what it promises - it's relaxing music, cosmic sounds and sound effects, so it's ok can't complain here. But the other 2 CD's are mostly, hard banging tek-trance, sometimes even surpassing hard trance and going into hard core tekno. There are a couple of "so-so" tracks sprinkled here and there. I found myself pushing the "next" button on my CD payer most of the time. So for those of you who really liked Gatecrasher Discotech set, and in general like high quality dutch trance, skip this set, you will not find it here.

3 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing from high excitement.......2001-12-31

I have been a big fan of Gatecrasher compilations since the 'Black' album (their first one for those who haven't tracked them), having the 'Wet' album reigning as my favorite to this day, with 'Global Sound System' pulling in a close second. When I visited the Gatecrasher website, I saw the announcement of their latest one and got immediately excited. I listened to dozens of the samples online and eventually got it.

Disc 1 is the progressive, trance one of the group of 3. It has some really awesome synths and catchy melodies. While not as hard as disc 2 (I'll get to that in a second), it does have a good beat overall that can profess as a good danceable CD. Favorite tracks: 1, 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, and 15.

Disc 2 has some of the hardest beats I have heard on a CD before. The basslines are incredibly hard and if you turn your system up loud enough, you may either make your ears actually bleed, get complaints evolving into possible evictions from citizens in a 2-mile radius, or both. Maybe this wasn't my type of a mood of music, since the majority of it sounds a bit like 'happy to be hardcore'. The beats seem lost and I am having a difficult time trying to enjoy the music as I am secondly trying to find a rhythm to it. The beats were far too hard for my taste and this particular disc made me quite disappointed. What I also found a bit odd was on track 12, how the beats are so hard in this, that there was a strange occurrence of two moments of calm melodies of a piano being played; as soon as the piano silenced for a brief second, there came the boom of the next beat, shaking the floor. Favorite tracks: Not a single one.

Disc 3 is the chill disc of this group and a chill it is. After the migraine-pulsing second disc, this will relax you with its long synths and calm rhythm. Be noted that the high-pitched 'windchime-like' melody so to speak in track 6 will be quite ear piercing if you are listening at a short distance or if the volume is too high. Favorite tracks: 2, 5, 7, 8, and 10.

I didn't have high expectations for this compilation, but I was anxious to break it in. While two discs made me pleased, the other one ruined half the mood. This won't stop me however from continuing to have faith in what Gatecrasher delivers.

5 out of 5 stars Gatecrasher nevers fails !!.......2001-12-27

Like the title, oh my god, I don't know where to start. I waited so long for this cd to come in. I couldn't wait. When I got the cd, I no sooner had it out of the package and into my cd player. I started with disc one. Disc one is very good, starts out layed back (like most sets do) and gradually get stronger as it progresses. But you can't stop there, go onto disc two. Words can't describe this cd. Most sets will slowly progress and finally be strong and intense in the middle and then chill out alittle. This one doesn't follow the norm, it just get more intense till you can't take it anymore. But don't stop there, you're all wound up and you still want it to get more intense, but then you throw in disc three. Now I must say, I don't think they could have done anything better. This is the most chillout set that I have ever heard, better than any ambient or goa set. Don't stop listening to it though, you may want to keep up beat, but if you just sit back and relax this will take you on a journey one has never been on before. This set well deserves 5 stars !!!! Keep them comin !! And like it says "Beyond the discotech generator to the fast the furious and the future, so let's get digital and fall in love." I don't think I could have put it any better

    5 out of 5 stars A perfectly paced CD.......2001-12-17

This CD took my breath away. I have been a big Gatecrasher fan for over a year now and my favourite before this was Wet. This, I have to say, goes way above and beyond that, and for me it is mainly due to the third disc. The additional "Chill-Out" disc, while other people have found it to be out of place, I found to be the highlight of the cd. The songs are great, and while they are electronic, they are slow, orchestral and quite simply beautiful. The highlights of disc 3 have to be tracks 2 and 3. CD 1 is more in the style of Discotech Generation and makes a nice start to the album. CD 2 is an extension of Discotech Generation with a more matured sound, and CD 3 I have already covered. This album is the best Gatecrasger album to date and you can definitely hear, and better yet feel the progession of Gatecrasher to bigger and better things. If you like great techno and you like slower, more melodic electronica, this is the cd to buy.

5 out of 5 stars becoming fanatical about gatecrashers.......2001-12-03

All of the Gatecrashers are well worth owning if you like passionate trance, but "DIGITAL" and "WET" are among my favorites. The "Fast and Furious" disc from DIGITAL has got some really intense stuff and the bonus "Chill Out Disc" was different. One thing that needs to be said about all Gatecrasher cd's is that when put through an effects processor and given echo or "room size" treatment the repetitive stuff becomes less monotonous and the ambient voices become larger and more passionate.

    5 out of 5 stars Perfect Set.......2003-07-15

This double CD set is a great intro for anyone getting into Trance music or for anyone who likes Trance already. It's good straight thru from the first track all the way through without anything cheesy. Perfect for that dance party you have always wanted to throw at your new place! It has to be good if it's from the famous UK Gatecrasher club! A must buy....enjoy!!

4 out of 5 stars magnifica compilacion de trance.......2003-04-21

Simply awsome! Excellent track selection, superb mixing. Practically no boring fillers. The whole set flows very nicely. Only high quality trance tracks have been included into this set. This is the first Gatecrasher set that I got, and since then I basically compare all other gatecrasher sets with this one. Absolute must buy. There is no way you could be disappointed with this one! Two thumbs up!

5 out of 5 stars Great stuff from the UK.......2002-02-06

I've been collecting DJ mix compilations since the mid 80's(yes... since 1986 , when they were garage cassettes recorded with permission from nightclub DJ's). It is interesting to watch how different styles have evolved from this....trance , drum and bass , acid jazz. This is definitely ground-breaking stuff , and I highly recommend it for it's style , and cutting edge , music presentation. Some of the tracks are not new to me , but many of them are....worth the trouble of tracking down.

5 out of 5 stars Oh my !!!.......2001-10-10

This CD is just amazing!! When I picked it up I couldn't wait to listen to it. I really didn't know much about gatecrasher and what it was all about. I heard that the series was good, but me being an avid trance fan, I thought that they were house and techno. But when I started reading the reviews, I realized that the series was really good. The mixing is great, great choice of songs. I would definently recommend this cd to any trance fan!! The whole thing takes you on a journey that is undescribable. If you sit back and relax and listen to the music it will take you to places that you have never been to in the music world. If you are dancing to it, take the time to listen to the music and let it absord in and see where it takes you. This set is like no other and it is a must buy!!
