Editorial Reviews
Following nearly four years of releasing quality house music to the masses, Baroque Records are at last set to release their first compilation CD!
Baroque Records was founded at the start of 2000 by Keith McDonnell (Innate) and Mick Park (Tilt, Parks & Wilson). The label launched with the now classic Odessi Moment of Space which went on to sell over 6000 vinyl 12" singles and was licensed to 15+ compilations including Anthony Pappa Global Underground and Dave Seamans Renaissance. This was followed by Innate Changes which again was licensed to many compilations including Steve Lawler Home. Changes was then licensed to by seminal trance label Platipus. Baroque gained instant recognition from the start for consistent high quality releases, which were constantly featured in the UK Hype / Coolcuts charts and were supported by DJs such as Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, Deepdish, Nick Warren, Sander Kleinenberg, Paul Oakenfold and also gaining radio support the likes of Pete Tong & John Digweed.
Baroque can be proud to have launched such luminaries as Andy Moor & Leama and to have helped introduce the likes of Swain & Snell, Minilogue, and Duran & Aytek. This fresh new talent was and still is something the label thrives on, and works in great contrast to the signing of more established artists such as Tilt, Evolved & Quivver and remixes from the likes of Satoshi Tomiie, Evolution, Blackwatch, Tarantella & Redanka and Brancaccio & Aisher.
It should be only fitting that this first collection of Baroque works is mixed by Baroque co-owner and label manager Keith McDonnell aka INNATE. From Satoshi Tomiies remix of Interflow Storyreel to the angelic like vocals of Maria Naylor on Tilt Headstrong From Brancaccio & Aishers groovy remix of Manticore Slaves & the spine tingling chords on Sleepfreaks PHB to the bouncy beats of Quivvers BozBoz & dark drums of Swain & Snell produced Xzique Your Mind and not forgetting Keiths own Innate Changes and Roots Rock, In Session is prime reason why Baroque is one of the finest progressive house/trance imprints the world over.

Customer Reviews:
A good, but not great compilation from a great label........2004-02-27
The second disc has better tracks than the first, and is unmixed - CDDJ friendly. Unfortunately, the tracks on this disc are for the most part quite dated. Fortunately, these are some of the finest "progressive" house / trance type tracks from the past few years. And, if by some chance any of these tunes are new to you, then you should be totally satisfied. All of the tracks are pretty good here, but the best tracks on this disc are Jay Welsh - Four Horsemen, Kybosh - Playing With My Mind, Quivver - Boz Boz, and the classic Odessi - Moments of Space.
To be fair, this is an overall great package to introduce you to a good record label, but for those who are already familiar with these tunes, there isn't much point to buying this.
