Aptly Titled- Not for delicate ears!.......2007-05-10
Bucket-Boy truly approached composing the soundtrack for Hades with this one. Chaotic, brutal, dissonant, punishing, dark, and frenetic, are just a few of the many possible adjectives to describe this work. I truly admire his guitar heroics on the CD, but I like a bit more variety and dynamics. This album at times becomes a blur of brutality and viciousness. There are amazing licks and solos, however, so that's why I give it at least 3 stars. He really has a gift for melody and groove, and that gift is put on the shelf for this hellride. I don't recommend it for other than the hardest core of Buckethead fans or horror flick fanatics. Use with caution.
'Hell on the Guitar!'.......2007-04-29
This is a masterful romp into a charnel house of shreds and shards of psycho-fret work. It may get tedious for some but I never seem to get tired of it. Buckethead is the man! Those gruesome song titles really match his guitar playing. I had the honor of seeing Buckethead perform at the Coach House here is California, if he comes your way you must see him,
he's just beyond words...
Great CD And Very Different.......2007-03-22
I just recently started listening to Buckethead and this is the first CD I bought. It's all instrumental funk metal and strange but good. It's hard to describe but worth buying.
Great but too hard for me.......2007-02-07
I think is a great album being that i am a fan of mostly all of what i know of Bucket, but i think if he toned it down a bit in maybe one or two songs, it might have been a lot better. I still love it just the same, but sometimes i put it on and i'd rather listen to a different album than that. recommended for true shredder and heavy metal fans
Definately Awesome.......2006-06-30
With this CD, Buckethead just passed go, collected $200 and blew me away. The whole thing never slows down, it's a constant stream of metal insanity designed to warp your brain, and it rocks. A definate buckethead essential, order it today :D

Blah!.......2007-02-23
I think this cd is just a bunch of noise, and I was listening to it, waiting for some type of guitar to enter, but i was dissappointed when i heard some guitar come in at the third song. I really dont like this cd, unless it was halloween, cause its just creepy and too ambient for my taste. I like buckethead when he plays actual music. Too weird for Buckethead, if that's possible, and definately too weird for me.
Excellent.......2005-05-13
I purchased this not really knowing what to expect, since all Buckethead's projects differ greatly, and I have to say I'm impressed. There's not a whole lot to be said, this cd is about 40-50 minutes long, has only guitar and bass, and is five tracks long. Most of this is a lot of ambient noise, or creepy guitar sounds played for brief amounts of time. The guitar and bass are almost indecipherable under all the effects, but the droning creates kind of an eerie, yet relaxing feel. In fact, there's a good chance you'll fall asleep listening to this, the reason I can appreciate this is because me and my friends do a lot of recordings just like this one for fun. The most important thing is that Buck and Bill truly enjoy the music they do, such as this record. They put a lot of creativity into it, and pretty much whatever is on thier minds will show up in their work. Pure Imagination, (which Buck covers, coincidentally). So check this out, I'm sure you will enjoy it to some degree.
Twangy twang twang.......2005-03-06
Death Cube K consists of Mr Bill Laswell, a man and bassist, and Mr Bucket Head, a man and guitarist. The impression I get is that Bill Laswell decide to work with Mr Bucket because that's the kind of thing he does; and that, having done so, he realised that Mr Bucket's talents were limited, which explains why Death Cube K aren't a going concern any more.
Like a lot of the stuff Bill Laswell breathes on, 'Disembodied' is a mixture of very good and tastelessly awful, as if the man's musical bone was in the grip of a perpetual, slow-motion epileptic fit. On this record 'Disembodied' and 'Hanging Gallows' are the high spots, the former sounding like 'Zeit'-era Tangerine Dream, the latter a lengthy guitar solo which sounds a bit like Pink Floyd's more ruminative moments. 'Terror Tram' is a bad thing to call a piece of music, because trams are not frightening. Nonetheless it is also very much like early Tangerine Dream, and makes me suspect that either Bill Laswell or Mr Bucket have heard some of Tangerine Dream's early albums, back in the early days, their albums, early ones.
'Embalmed' sounds like cheap, poor-quality horror film soundtrack music, almost a parody of mysterious 'illbient', ruined by over-the-top guitar noodling. Being the second track, it's easy to ignore it and assume that Laswell and Bucket were having a bad patch. 'Pre Hack', the final track, is worse, such that it makes one wonder if the two players are chancers who were coasting on luck and front. It's just a lot of random, hyperactive guitar noodling and I hate it. I don't come away with a favourable impression of Mr Bucket. God knows what the rest of his stuff is like. Both these tracks dare you to laugh, because they're so juvenile.
So then, the title track, 'Hanging Gallows' and 'Terror Tram' are excellent great decent in that order, 'Embalmed' and 'Pre Hack' are offensively awful in that order. If the album didn't have the latter two tracks it would be twenty-three minutes long but really good; you could play it twice in a row, perhaps, to bring it up to album length. I can recommend James Brown as well, he's really good too.
glory,glory,halleluhjah!!!!.......2004-01-12
What a true treasure we all have found in buckethead and bill laswell's doings!who would've thought that what george clinton began so many years ago would eventually mutate into somthing so drastically voided and tragically hip?!I absoultely love putting this in my xbox or ps 1 and looking at the trippy visuals on it,and the first cube cd even has a cd extra with some dated-but still cool -visual "buisiness" for track 1.For a real hallucinatory smorgasborg buy both these cd's and splice them together onto one disc using your pc.get the dvd "begotten" along with these and play the 2 cd's while the movie is playing. It's like the alice in wonderland/dark side of the moon thing x10!!!my only gripe is that the cd's are both only about 40 minutes long each, but I gave them both 5 stars so you know that's not a problem what-so-ever!If the times are a problem for you(maybe you need like 15 hours of atmosphereric music for a long "trip")I can't say enough about steve roach's "mystic chords and sacred spaces",buckethead's"colma"and"electric tears",shakuhachi flute for meditation, robert rich "stalker",bill townsend "celestial voyage",terry riley"in c",aphex twin"ambient collection",ravi shankar, some brian eno(hard to tell the truly ambient ones though.music for airports is good),steven molpern "spectrum",micheal stearns "sacred sites",angelo badalamenti's scores for "the straight story" "the elephant man" and "the beach",etc, etc, etc.if you like chillin' out do yourself the favor of getting this opus ode to buckethead's arch nemisis-the mighty death cube k world devourer!
ONE OF THE BEST CDS I OWN.......2001-03-21
The first song I heard off Disembodied was the song Embalmed and I was throughly impressed. This and its precursor Dreamatorium as well as the new CD Tunnel are quite frankly some of the best CDS out there. The freaky sounding guitar is brought to you courtesy of guitar god Buckethead and bass is provieded by the one and only Bill Laswell. Both instruments float about like upset ghosts, and all the noises that scared you as a kid are back to haunt you again. Just by looking at the album cover art you know what to expect. If death had a soundtrack then this would be it.

Dan Henk.......2000-07-19
An excellent blend of the better qualities of hardcore and metal. The lyrics are poetic and artistic, yet relevant and personal. The vocals vary between spoken word and pained screaming. The music is heavy and downtuned and possessed of an inescapable groove. It's metal played by hardcore kids who have the good sense to leave out the solos, stupid lyrics, and overproduction that tends to bog down traditional metal.
Disembodied was one of the best hxc bands ever........2000-05-05
If you're into hardcore at all, you need this cd. Disembodiedwas one of the best hardcore bands ever (unfortunately they broke up).Their other cd "if God only knew the rest were dead" is alsoamazing...
"Diablerie" by Disembodied.......2000-04-13
What can I say? A truly evil and brutal release. Sounds a lot like Overcast devilcore stylings crossbred with slowed-down Napalm Death riffs and Obituary-like vocals. "Forget Me" and "Dead Before Birth" are outstanding tracks. If you are into this vein of evil metal-core will find that these band delivers. I love the sample from what I believe is "Interview With the Vampire."

Just thought someone needed to tell the truth........2005-12-16
My friend told me to check this band out, so I downloaded some songs off this album and I'm at a loss. Five stars for this? Screaming over power chords; real impressive. Seriously, this is absolute trash. Has about the same value to music as crackheads have to society. Truly junk. Don't even accept this album if you're being paid to do so. Period.
unhallowed be thy name.......2005-08-16
unholy masterpiece. this album is full of energy. very personal lyrics from a straight edge band. and dont let the label fool you. just because there straight doesnt mean they cant rip. this is for people who hate society,junkies,...any negative aspect of america. great stuff. very innovative for its time. pick it up if you want to f**k s**t up.
Heaviest band in hardcore. Period........2003-12-03
Disembodied "Heretic" is a very complete full length which describes the band's final stages of evolution, from sludgy "evilcore" to a thoroughly developed wrecking ball of unparalleled heaviness. "Heretic" continues where their contribution to the split with Brother's Keeper left off, as the band continues to utilize their signature demonic interpretation of seemingly doom influenced metalcore. While songs such as "Cynic," "Godless" and "Seven Stitches" are slightly upbeat, they still maintain that thick, "Roots" (Sepultura) influenced composition, utilizing those lower registers better than most breakdown oriented metalcore bands. Lyrically, "Heretic" is loaded with rants of raw indignance and hatred, painting vivid atmospheres of depression and angst, which are illustrated properly by the schizophrenic inking of liner notes over aged paper. Moreover, if you're looking for a rich, dark metalcore band with substance and originality, listen to Disembodied. If you're generally unfamiliar with this band, this album is great first experience. "Heretic" is a very well organized sophomore full length with clear production and arguably the most memorable musical content. For fans of Harvest, Sepultura, and Bloodlet.
hardcore!!!.......2001-06-13
All and all a pretty good cd. Many times I feel this band may have been over praised, but for the most part I think they deserve the recognition that they've gotten. Check this one out!!!

Disembodied oh yeah........2000-10-24
Yo yo yo, the Disembodied side of this record is DOPE. The vocalist's voice is developing and he's beginning to sound a little like Brian from the all mighty Overcast. I really reccomend this record to all Disembodied fans. They also do a PHAT heavy tuned down Quicksand cover.
