Andy C & DJ Hype bring you the newest from Fabric Records – Fabric Live 18!

Andy C is one of the most important figures in the drum ‘n’ bass evolution. He formed Ram Records in 1992, which quickly became one of the genre’s driving forces, releasing many 12" EPs featuring top producers. Andy has remixed the likes of Busta Rhymes, Jay Z, and Reprazent and has been voted number one DJ in virtually every drum ‘n’ bass awards there are.

Few DJs or producers could claim to be as active and committed to their music as London’s DJ Hype. Gaining experience as part of the Heatwave Soundsystem (part of Shut Up & Dance). He’s built sound systems, A&R’ed for Kickin’ Records, worked with both indies and majors, and hosted radio shows on the seminal Fantasy FM and Kiss. Hype has pioneered drum ‘n’ bass worldwide, fearlessly presenting all forms of the music to as many people as possible.

Fabric Live 18 sees Andy C and DJ Hype showcasing their sounds together for the first time. Kicking off with DJ Hype – we journey through up-to-the-minute cuts, exclusive forthcoming tracks from his Ganja label and his special edits of Benny Blanco and JB. Andy C takes over for the final part showcasing his superb technical skills as he furiously mixes up tracks by J Majik, Moving Fusion, Ed Rush & Optical, DJ Fresh, and his own Ram Trilogy moniker. Don’t miss out!

5 out of 5 stars if you like trance, dont get this..........2005-06-17

classic hype...it's always good to hear a real junglist, in fact one of the founders of the movement, rock out, unlike the billion dieselboy clones that litter this country trying to turn jungle into trance....if you like trance, stay out of the jungle. after all, he calls himself hype for a reason...

2 out of 5 stars Even Andy C couldn't save this one.......2005-02-10

Being a big fan of Andy C, I quickly snagged this album up after listening to his previous Nightlife albums, and Drum and Bass Arena album for a million times over. I figured, Andy C had to share the decks with Hype, but it couldn't be all that bad, could it? I was wrong here. There's simply too many tracks in which Hype has a cheap sound effect played over the track of some guy blasting out, "Dj Hype" or, "Hype in the Mix", etc. Way too much shameless self-promotion and not enough emphasis on the music itself.

The track selections are okay, but they dont' always flow together well at all. It definitely comes across as 2 djs on two different objectives on 1 album. I'd pass it up, if I didn't already buy it.
