5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!!!.......2005-10-13

First heard Steve play during Winter Music Conference 2002 and was won over instantly. This compilation is a wonderful example of how talented Gerrard truly is. Track selection is beautiful, mixing is perfect and each CD has its own unique vibe. However, buy the CD then try to catch him LIVE! You won't be disappointed. His ability to light the room on fire is what sets him apart as a DJ.

5 out of 5 stars Give this guy some credit people!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-09-18

I must say I was not to aware that Steve Gerrard was such a talented DJ. I know many of his remixes...but know I know why Digweed lets him spin at his BEDROCK nights. Lets start with the Prog.breaks (cd1).Now im not too into breaks myself but this mix just works so well. I guess it being Prog.breaks makes it a bit easier for me to enjoy, but his track selection and mixing skills are very tight and smooth (if you enjoyed Pappa's balance 006 mix(cd1) this cds is on the same level if not a bit better). Now on to cd2 the Prog.house disc. This being the true reason I purchased this comp. I must say it is simply wonderful. Every track is great and that is rare these days. Steve mixes form deep prog.house to a bit of prog.trance but never steps into the crap that many djs do.And his mixing once again is layerd very nice and nice and smooth. A must have for any PROG. fan house of breaks. I wonder when he plans on his next comp. mix?????

4 out of 5 stars A true 2004 Gem.......2005-01-30

I'm not going to sit here and describe the aural interpretation for each track in this this compilation. But what i can tell you is that for those who have yet to listen to the cd, due to the relative rarity are missing out on one of the top gems of a 2004 compliation of house/progressive trance/breaks mix. After all, you are finally hearing a compliation from the guy also know as wrecked angle(known for countless electronic remixes).

The breaks cd 1 is by far the best of the 2, with is amazing track selection, very remincent of Summerbreeze 2 - noel sanger, those who have got to taste that 2002-2003 cd know why its considered one of the best electronica cds of that year. The second half of gerrard's compilation is where the real talents of track selection & mixing is shown, its a non stop ride, where each following track takes the cd to new heights. It was so good, that its still remains on my playlist even after 2 months of listening. (5+ stars/5)

The progressive cd 2 is less intriguing, with a few key tracks that fall into what you would here in a nick warren or sasha & digweed set. Very powerful, and touching on the darker side of house. But not as soul driving as the first cd. (4 stars/5)

If i could best describe Paul Gerrards style he's a mix of the following in no particular order:
Sasha, digweed, hybrid, noel sanger, Satoshi tommie, nick warren, nubreed

I'd say get this for just the breaks cd by itself.... amazing
