This is the best I've heard from Juan Atkins; a little like Model 500 but more minimal, less R&B-tinged (not R&B-tinged at all, in fact!). A collection of beautiful, biomorphic techno tracks, ideal for those who find a lot of techno too 'geometric' and brittle-sounding. Chilled this ain't, though - it's as dark and intense as you'd expect from Tresor, just a little fuzzier and more organic than most.

Eighteen years after Juan Atkins started out in Cybotron with Rick Davies he continues to demonstrate how machines can be injected by human emotions.Having led the blueprint for what is called Techno music along with Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson in the early nineties, late eighties, Juan Magic Atkins arrives with his debut full length under the Infiniti guise.

A alias for his more sublime, home-listening recordings than his dance oriented Model 500 project, Atkins combines clever production with interesting new sounds. This is a soft, warm piece of Detroit techno with a good selection of tempos, moods and experimentation all without being TOO experimental.Atkins even put vocals on some of his tracks, like Higher and Coffee shop.Also worth checking are Never tempt me(Which has been issue with remixes by Thomas Fehlmann and others)and Postcard from the future.

Whilst being only the second solo full length of his long career(after Model 500's Deep Space),

Skynet seems akin to be a mixture of older Model 500 tracks like the moody Night drive and the harder of No UFO's. Once again Juan Atkins proves that he is the godfather of Techno.

Indeed, another postcard from the future...
