Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Solid CD, Some Cool Beats.......2004-05-16

I remember getting this when it came out. At the time, I had already gotten Brazilectro, Boss-A-Troniq's and a few others, so needless to say I was deep in the genre. However this one got lost in the shuffle. There was some carryover in tunes between all of the nu-bossa/nu-brazil compilations and this one did't quite make the cut.

I have been listening to this more, and imagine... I'm really into the cut "Toda Tersafeira" cut, remade by Jazzanova. It wasn't until I picked up Nu Bossa Cafe that I remembered the top reason why I'd picked this up back then, and I fell for the song all over again. There's also a cool remix to Da Lata's Pra Manha which is festive and alive, the Da Lata remix to "Escravos Do Jo" which is pretty cool and spirited. And of course there's Jazzanova's overused "Fedime's Flight". But another great tune on here (IMO) is the club cut "A Volta" by Arsenal. Check out the beat!

For the price, this isn't a bad compilation if you want to hear what was kickin' from 1997-2000. Not every track peaked my interest - I could've done without Mosquito Coast. And some of the mixing wasn't as smooth as it could've been (not really stand alone cuts). But its got a solid vibe, you've got some good tunes and not a break the bank price. If you dig this, check out Brazilectro 2 and III, Boss-A-Troniq 2, Rio Lounge 1&2 and maybe Nova Latino vol. 1. This iscertainly worth it for the remake to "Toda Tersafeira"

5 out of 5 stars Get 'Brazilified!'.......2002-02-09

'Brazilified' is one of the best electronic compilation albums! I find myself coming back to it very often, each time enjoying a fresh music experience. Quango did a great job at putting together a musically diverse album yet with a common Brazilian/Latin electronic sound theme. The 11 songs incorporate a whole spectrum of music genres: electronic bossa nova, fusion jazz, tropical and lounge music and finally (towards the end of the album) an electronic dance music with a Brazilian flavor. Standout tracks:
8. A Volta - Arsenal
10. Berimbau De Ossanha - Easydelics
11. Abra A Boca - Nova Fronteira
6. Pra Manha (P&T Mix) - Da Lata
2. Toda Tersafeira (Jazzanova Rework) - Soul Quality Quartet

Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Quango's back!.......2001-08-14

One in a series of compilations celebrating the return of the Quango label. Despite its past financial woes, Quango always knew what time it was before most of the record-buying public did and the selection on this disc proves it. Concentrating on the Brazilian sounds from their catalog, Brazilified showcases just some of the artists that take those sounds to the dance floor with booty-shaking results.
