Solid CD, Some Cool Beats.......2004-05-16
I have been listening to this more, and imagine... I'm really into the cut "Toda Tersafeira" cut, remade by Jazzanova. It wasn't until I picked up Nu Bossa Cafe that I remembered the top reason why I'd picked this up back then, and I fell for the song all over again. There's also a cool remix to Da Lata's Pra Manha which is festive and alive, the Da Lata remix to "Escravos Do Jo" which is pretty cool and spirited. And of course there's Jazzanova's overused "Fedime's Flight". But another great tune on here (IMO) is the club cut "A Volta" by Arsenal. Check out the beat!
For the price, this isn't a bad compilation if you want to hear what was kickin' from 1997-2000. Not every track peaked my interest - I could've done without Mosquito Coast. And some of the mixing wasn't as smooth as it could've been (not really stand alone cuts). But its got a solid vibe, you've got some good tunes and not a break the bank price. If you dig this, check out Brazilectro 2 and III, Boss-A-Troniq 2, Rio Lounge 1&2 and maybe Nova Latino vol. 1. This iscertainly worth it for the remake to "Toda Tersafeira"
