Customer Reviews:
Better live.......2007-03-19
This album is pretty good, but it's nothing compared to seeing them live. I went to see Covenant in NY, and Rotersand was the opening band. I was blown away by their energy. The guy's got a commanding stage presence, too - he's got to be at least 6'6". They only played like 5 songs, though. Imperative Reaction got a much longer set, and it was a real buzzkill. I enjoyed Rotersand even more than Covenant. I hope they come to the states again and are allowed to play more songs. The recorded material doesn't do them justice.
Good, Solid recording.......2007-01-03
The energy and "tightness" of this album are evident from the opening musical phrase. Unlike a majority of other albums from this genere one can listen to the entire album at once, OR, pick one or two songs from the album and be equally satisfied. For me, no one song stands out more than the other!! A sign of a well thought out and produced album. Enjoy.
3.5 stars in my book.......2006-10-08
I'm pretty new to Rotersand's music. "Welcome to Goodbye" is my first introduction to the band. Rotersand may not be VNV Nation or Apoptygma Berzerk but I thought "Welcome to Goodbye" was enjoyable. There definitely is a Pink Floyd element in the band's music especially in the vocals but for the most part Rotersand's music is your standard EBM. The production is perfect. It has a good live vibe to it. There are lots of good hooks and good beats. Tracks like "Dare to Live" and "The Last Ship pt. 1" made me want to get up and dance. Unfortunately what plagues this album is repetition but then again repetition often plagues many electronic based music. "Exterminate Annihilate Destroy" gets pretty tiresome after a couple of minutes of listening to the obnoxious synthesized beats. The same can be said about "Almost Wasted" except the beats aren't so obnoxious. "Welcome to Goodbye" is good, not perfect but good. I have definitely heard better EBM cds than Rotersand's recent effort.
Each track is a hit or miss.......2006-08-31
I bought this album based on the club hit, "exterminate, annihilate, destroy" and the song "dare to live". Both tracks are awsome in my opinion. The last ship pt1, storm were tracks that stood out to me... but the rest were just generic EBM tracks. Some people love it. Others hate it. I wasn't disappointed with my purchase, but it wasn't anything special either.
Sample this album before you condemn or commend it.

FYI - the samples in "Extermiante-Annihilate-Destroy" are from DOCTOR WHO not RED DWARF.
In regards to the album; it is a very diverse and unique album that should appeal to "darkwave" fans who can appreciate more than just drum-machines, heavy base, and screaming lyrics.
If you're more interested in that type of depressing sound, stick with WUMPSCUT of SUICIDE COMMANDO (Yawn...)

Romance! Music! Comedy! And ELLEN FOLEY!.......2000-02-02
Live stage shows are an art form much overlooked in America; so finding this CD was a wonderful surprise, as it allowed me to enjoy something I wouldn't otherwise ever have a chance to see: a play starring my favorite actress, ELLEN FOLEY! I've always been more impressed with her acting (NIGHT COURT) than her singing (BAT OUT OF HELL) and this CD contains more of her presence and personality than any record I've heard her on! It's mainly the story of a woman who has 2 encounters with a man who, while he comes across as optimistic and uplifting on the surface, is really a self-destructive personality with problems of his OWN! (I could probably relate because I've met the type!) Highly entertaining; highly recommended! (Now if only someone would reissue her solo album, NIGHTOUT; or get her to do a new album... we can hope, right?)
