Product Description
Atlanta-based producer/remixer Chris Brann is without question one of the most prolific and far reaching of todays electronic music artists. His Wamdue Kids, Wamdue Project, Ananda Project and Ptaah incarnations, as well as his work under his own name, have all garnered critical acclaim including a massive international smash with Wamdue Projects "King of My Castle" which sold over 2 million copies worldwide in 2000.
Branns decidedly abstract and classical approach to making music produces distinctively rhythmic landscapes that are about the limitless possibilities of sound, not musical apartheid. His aural reconstructions of Everything But The Girl, KD Lang, Bebel Gilberto, Thomas Newman (Six Feet Under) Charles Webster, and Tweaker feat. David Sylvian, have hugely increased the demand for his productions and remixes, providing an outlet for his extraordinary scope.
Following on from 2000s Release and 2001s remix collection Re-Release, Morning Light is a sumptuous assemblage encapsulating Branns broad talents well as a roster of Atlanta-based and international artists. Resident muses Heather Johnson and Terrance Downs return sharing vocal duties with house diva Lydia Rhodes, ethereal siren Marta Gazman, Sylvia Gordon (of electronic jazz outfit Kudu and featured vocalist / bassist for Branns PTAAH project) and lithe chanteuse Nicola Hitchcock (formerly of UK act Mandalay). Atlanta-based instrumentalists Julius Speed (keyboards), Ede Wright (guitar), Genoa Mungin and Kima Moore (percussion), Kebbi Williams (sax) and Darryl Freeman (bass), solidify the groups epic levels of skill and synchronicity.
Songs like the sparkling "Kiss Kiss Kiss", "Rain Down," the cosmic jazz inflected "ICU" and the spiritually-soaked "Secrets" are effervescent reflections while the stark Marvin Gaye-inspired "Justice, Mercy" and elegant lead single "I Hear You Dreaming" are evocative meditations peppered with warm textures that are contemplative and engrossing. But, it is the supple "Suite Dreams," the earnest woeful "The One" and the penetrating sullen anthem "Can You Find the Heart" that evoke the deepest aural imagery.

wonderful.......2007-07-22
These CD's were wonderful. When I drive in the Sierra Nevada mountians I want something peaceful but not boring. I love, love, love it.
Repackaged New Year's Concert 1984 with VPO, etc........2005-02-23
If I'm not mistaken, most of the pieces were recorded originally live during a 1984 New Year's Concert conducted by Lorin Maazel with the Vienna Philharmonic playing in its grand concert hall, the Musikverein. Maazel and the Vienna Philharmonic have had a longstanding relationship dating from the 1960's, and without question, this CD does rank among my favorite New Year's Concert performances (However, the most mesmerizing ones I've heard have been those with the late Carlos Kleiber and Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducting.) for the superb quality of the Vienna Philharmonic's playing. Maazel leads the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in some of the most popular works composed by the Strauss family, most notably Johann II Strauss' Tales from the Vienna Woods Waltz, Emperor Waltz, Pizzicato Polka, Blue Danube Waltz and his father's Radetzky March, which traditionally closes out the annual New Year's Concert. Fans of the Strauss family, Vienna Philharmonic and Lorin Maazel, will not be disappointed with this excellent two CD compilation.
I am glad I bought this one.......2003-04-25
I listen to this cd to relax and it is so soothing. It starts with The blue Danube, which is my favorite. But the rest of the songs do not disapoint.
Great Music as usual.......2002-10-08
This is great recording,
I enjoy listening to it
veru much. This is a
compilation of all the
favorite waltzes by
the Strauss family, that
one might hear at a
New Year's eve concert
of the Vienna Philharmonic...
All waltzes and Polkas are
favorites of audiences everywhere
in the world...
A gem!.......2001-10-29
Who else knows Strauss better than Viennese? I attest that no other orchestra in the world plays Strauss better than the Vienna Philharmonic. Their light sound is exactly what the composer wanted, and it really makes other clumsy, heavy attempts by some other orchestras like Berlin and Chicago seem pathetic.
As far as the content of these CDs go, they are fantastic. They have every waltz, march, and polko of Strauss II that you could possibly want, as well as a nice addition of "Radetzky March" by the composer's father. If you are looking for a Johann Strauss Jr. CD, get this one!

A Listening Treat .......2007-03-08
What a delight to listen to this collection of pure Rutter ! The melodic sounds of the Cambridge Singers bring me such pleasure The sheer joyfulness of this music is to me a religious experience of such depth It is superb and will lift ones spirits instantly. highly recommended to all lovers of the English contemporary choral sound and scene,____ not to be missed
Be Thoy My Vision CD.......2007-02-19
My husband sang many of these John Rutter compositions with his church choir, and this CD is perfect since the choir is directed by Rutter, singing his own music. If you love religious music, this will bring tears to your eyes, the choir is "that" perfect.
Really good, but don't listen to it all at once........2007-01-07
I really liked this CD. It really showcases Rutter's knack for religious choral music. Perhaps it helps that I have sung some of his stuff with various groups. However, as with any similar compiliation, the composer's sameness of style and motif becomes apparent. This repetition can become boring on the third or fourth listening. On the other hand, this makes a great reference tool for any choral director or performer. Buy it, however, it's worth it, but don't listen to it all at once.
A must for choral music fans.......2006-09-19
Simply fabulous, 10/10. These are all Rutter-composed pieces, directed by Rutter himself. If you have any interest in religious choral music at all, you must get this album! One of the highlights of my musical life was attending a concert of a University of Maryland choir in which my mom sang, that featured Rutter as a guest conductor. Listening to this album is almost as good! ;-) There are too many good pieces to start naming all of my favorites, but these are some of the best known ones: "Open Thou Mine Eyes", "A Gaelic Blessing", "All Things Bright and Beautiful", "As the Bridegroom to His Chosen", "For the Beauty of the Earth", and "The Lord Bless You and Keep You".
An outstanding collection of Rutter's hymns.......2005-11-22
I sought a recording of Rutter's beautiful hymn, "Wings of the Morning", after we sang this lovely tune in church and this was the only CD I could find that contained it.
This collection includes many of Rutter's church hymns recorded over a period of 20 years performed by The Cambridge Singers, a group of Brits, that are conducted by the composer. Ergo, these performances must be considered definitive.
Many of Rutter's popular hymns are included here. "O be joyful to the Lord" and "All things bright and beautiful", a popular children's hymn done here by adults, follow "Wings of the morning" on tracks 5-7. Others you may have performed in church represented here are "O clap your hands", "Lord make me an instrument of your peace", "For the beauty of the earth", "Look at the world" and "The Lord bless you and keep you" among the 21 assembled hymns.
While The Cambridge Singers, on their Web site, identify themselves principally as an a capella group, I was pleased when I received this CD to find all the hymns supported by a full orchestra, the esteemed City of London Sinfonia. The renditions are uniformly lovely although some listeners may find the singing a bit on the white side lacking brilliance and individuality. Everything is done in keeping with Rutter's score markings and style.
The recording tends to be a little variable given the 20-plus year difference in performances. The most recent copyright listing is 2003, the same year "Wings of the morning" was published. I don't hear an appreciable difference in that recording than the others but still hear some age in older works.
If you seek a Rutter hymn collection you can't go wrong here. You have wonderful English performers mated to the composer in his more popular works. I'd recommend this without reservation to anyone seeking this collection.

If Rieu is not the most outstanding purveyor of Viennese waltzes and similar light-hearted fare, he is certainly the most popular and well-known. There are plenty of fun pieces on this album, although, to be just a tad pedantic, more of it is Italian and French than remotely Viennese. But it's all fun, and it's all well-played. --Sarah Bryan Miller
Customer Reviews:
Music different from title.......2007-05-26
The title of this CD was misleading. I wanted an entire CD of Viennese waltzes to play at a party, and was disappointed that there were marches, etc. on the CD. A better title would've been "The Vienna I Love, Music From My Heart".
André Rieu - The Vienna I love - Waltzes From My Heart.......2006-07-17
The music is so upbeat and you are automatically in a good mood. It is a real pleasure listening to this CD and it is done frequently.
Excellent choice.......2006-05-03
I am really a rock music fan but I enjoy this version of light classical music. It may not be for the serious classical music enthusiast, but it is still considered excellent light entertainment. What a way to introduce classical music to a wider audience!
Pop Strauss, et al.......2004-04-30
I was looking for truly Viennese renditions of Strauss waltzes. Though unrelentingly upbeat, this isn't it. There are medleys of Strauss, Offenbach, Rossini, and everyone else imaginable. It's a pop version of what was once pop on its own. I know Strauss isn't serious classical fare, but this trivializes it.
Depressed? Listen to this!.......2002-09-25
Having one of those ho-hum days just like that little round guy on the Zoloft commercial? Place this on your CD, press start, and don't fight it! You will be dancing around the living room (provided you don't fight it, just let it go!). Musically, it is a very fine piece from a very fine artist. It can totally transport you. So many of the tunes you will know from TV commercials, (Rheingold Beer) etc. It is a solid beautiful collection of tunes that can stir the soul. I know it sounds schmaltzy, but if it can make you feel better, why not try it?

Here's another to join the parade of page-to-stage musicals inspired by 19th-century fiction. This ambitious adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's haunting classic Jane Eyre for the musical theater seems to be part of a trend represented most famously by Les Misérables. It also reflects the increasing pressure to schedule an original cast recording release as close as possible to a new show's Broadway opening: in this case, in fact, the CD was both recorded and released prior to the show's opening in December 2000 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. But what's most significant for the artistic character of Jane Eyre: The Musical is found in yet another pattern: like a number of his colleagues, composer-lyricist Paul Gordon comes to the project from a pop music industry background (best known for his hit "Friends and Lovers"). And quite a few of the show's numbers benefit from Gordon's catchy craftwork, weaving melodies that are clearly destined to be whistled long past curtain. Yet the effect is sometimes too facile, not diving as deep as we would like into the emotional predicaments of Brontë's characters. You begin to crave a more deftly defined and imagined variety of sound worlds (especially for the darker aspects of Thornfield Hall) than what is hinted at. Gordon doesn't forge any new paths, but his melodic fluency does have its moments of payoff--especially in the moving final duet "Brave Enough for Love," which is also strong enough to stand on its own.
Gordon's predilections as a would-be son of Sondheim are nevertheless clear, and he's telescoped the story into mostly effective lyrics, with some thoughtful juxtapositions of material. Most importantly, he understands that this is more than a Gothic romance, foregrounding the central message of forgiveness that Jane learns as a girl. He attempts to explore the injured sense of self shared by both Jane and Rochester and sets them on a painful, mutual voyage of discovery.
The creative team also includes the veteran duo John Caird (book and direction) and John Napier (scenic design), who have collaborated on such epics as Les Mis and Nicholas Nickleby (not to mention the Las Vegas Siegfried and Roy extravaganza). And the show's creators seem to share a vision geared toward the more operatic end of the spectrum (it was opera composers, after all, who early on claimed 19th-century Gothic fiction for the stage, as in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor), with an actual parody of coloratura in one showstopper ("The Finer Things") given to Blanche Ingram. Fortunately, the two principals have large, richly expressive voices to encompass the large, complicated emotions of these characters. Marla Schaffel singswith unusual beauty and brings dimension to her Jane, while James Barbour (whose resumé includes Beauty and the Beast) is never really threatening as Rochester, but rather a tortured soul who is sweet-voiced even at his most cynical. Mary Stout is a stitch as the blustery Mrs. Fairfax. While the show has already undergone a lengthy evolution from its very first workshops, the viability of its final, fully staged realization has yet to be determined. But this cast recording conveys an authentic sense of the musical's atmosphere and emotional scope. --Thomas May

Great Buy!.......2007-06-08
Not only was this CD super cheap, it also arrived at my house 3 days later!
Perfect Match.......2007-03-16
The music in this album really gave me the feeling of reading the book. I think the songs were well chosen and well written, except of course for the songs sung by Mrs. Fairfax... I could have done without those. Jane and Mr. Rochester's songs carry the story well and they sound lovely. For any musical lover, or romance fan I definitely recommend this album.
Probably the most beautiful musical of all time.......2007-02-16
This is a hidden gem and if you buy it and listen to it, I don't see how you can not love it. I have bought many, many Broadway cast albums but I still am a popster at heart. With all that said, this is a cast album that soars above the crowd.
I bought this several years ago and have listened to it repeatedly since I got it. Why do I love it so much? First of all, the lyrics are full of heart and emotion and tell the story ably. But it is the music and the performances that are truly remarkable here. The melodies are memorable and absolutely exquisite. The orchestration is lush but not sappy. The performances by the two leads are nothing less than stunning.
I never get bored with this wonderful cast album and it is very, very highly recommended.
Beautiful!.......2007-01-28
I listen to this soundtrack all the time and I never get tired of the songs. If Charlotte Bronte story was written as a musical, then this would definitely be it.
A good musical.......2006-07-20
if you like old-fashioned romantic stuff, this one's for you. Some songs are very inspired, the music is,for the most part, quite beautiful, and the story line keeps the essence of the Bronte novel. I heard this right after "Wuthering Heights: the musical", which is quite good, yet this is superior. Give it a try and you might be nicely surprised. I would highly recommend it to the ones who know the novel and to English Literature students: it offers a different and interesting approach to the novel.

Album Description
"Haunting", "ethereal", and "oozing with soul" are just a few of the words used to describe the music of these Alabama-Kentucky-to-Northern California transplants. Backed by a crack ensemble, this duo's transcendent brand of super-spooky, carefully crafted music for many moods is the genre-blurring experience of the decade. "Brightblack's free form blues sound transcends marketing, name-dropping, and hustling, taking us for a blindfolded dive into a live river. When you close your eyes, separating yourself from your immediate surroundings, and hear Rabob's (Rachael's) moody keys and experience the slow syrup rhythms of Nabob's (Nathan's) 'Bear Momma' slide guitar, you find yourself lost in an unpretentious, unmaterialistic world" - Soma.
Customer Reviews:
a trip to my happy place.......2007-05-02
This was one of those albums where the first song came on ("Everybody Daylight") and it immediately caught my attention because I liked it so much. I thought to myself how lucky I was to have found them, yet still so jaded by modern music that my expectations for the rest of the album were extrememly low. By the end of my first listen I could not believe that every single track was in it's own way a little gem.
For me it's not about every song being unique and standing out. They drift into and out of each other with soft chimes and bells. It's all a beautifully dreamy vibe more than anything. It's downtempo to the extreme and most minialist, yet richly layered. The vocals, so far I have not been able to make out more than a word or two. But that feels alright because I don't know that the words are all that important compared to the overall feeling one has while taking it all in.
The entire album is relaxing and peaceful. For me BBML is all about the vibrations. There's a soulful, bluesy element tying everything together, but I also hear My Bloody Valentine and even a little Hope Sandoval/Mazzy Star thrown in.
Mesmerizing. Enchanting. I'm in love.
Psychedelic Blues.......2007-03-21
If psychedelic blues involved sounds echoing through space that happened to be derived from a blues scale, then this is it. Slightly hypnotic.
brightblack morning light my new late night delight........2007-03-06
this album has cool all over it. it's like the coolest film score to the coolest film never made. minimalist, mysterious, and sometimes a bit eerie, this recording goes right onto my classic list of late night listening pleasures. i can see myself listening to this 10 years from now and beyond. slow and beautiful sounds creeping across decades of nights. the british publication "mojo" picked this as the 26th best album of 2006. i put it somewhere in my top 5.
Like a slow-mo Morcheeba, but more bluesy and less corny.......2007-02-21
That's about the best description I can think of for this album: a slow motion Morcheeba without the supercorny lyrics.
Elsewhere, I read a review of this album that described it thusly: 'If you're the sort of person who can sit down and listen to three 20-minute versions of the Dead's 'Dark Star,' this is for you.' Being a huge Dead fan, I might take three 'Dark Stars' instead, but I can see where they're coming from.
I get the whole sound-collage, songs-blending-together-pastiche thing, but how about a song in a different key now and again? In the same way that Dylan does recastings of his songs live, Brightblack seems to be co-opting James Browns' technique of working a nice studio jam and doing it to death.
And death might also be an apt description. These songs all move in sloooow time - there is one mild exception, but I wouldn't exactly call it upbeat - and I could see any one of them serving as the perfect score for a suicide scene or slo-mo sex scene in a movie (also, coincidentally, some of them work rather well as striptease songs, with their bluesy licks and heartbeat drums).
I'm a bit conflicted about the record as a whole. I like the first song so much, but then so much of the album plays like an extension OF that song...
So, like the Dead's 43-minute 'Dark Star' from a '72 Philly Spectrum show (also, this album is just about 45 mins. long), it's a beautiful, roots-blues excursion that plays for just about the right length of time. Good stuff.
Sometimes you just want to shoot up and die.......2007-02-07
When it's time to check out, smoke a cigarette and go down easy. Isn't that the way it ought to be? Although this is the second album by Brightblack Morning Light, and a hell of a cool one, I doubt we'll be hearing any further albums from them, since it defies all reason that any of them could have survived the making of this album. I'm quite certain you can hear 'em wheezing and convulsing in the background during the last track. We can only hope the producer politely watched until all band members ceased moving before flicking off the mixing console. Anyway, I've decided right now, "Everybody Daylight" will be heard reverberating down the halls of my building when they come for me with a body bag.

Well-recorded, jolly music.......2006-06-19
Yet another Naxos jem. This collection of famous operetta overtures by Austrian composer Franz von Suppe is not only an exceptional value, but the music included is just plain fun.
While his complete operettas are rarely performed, much of the music Suppe wrote for them has become famous, in particular LIGHT CAVALRY (which we've all heard in countless cartoons) and POET AND PEASANT. Suppe's overtures brim with good humor and infectiously catchy tunes; I would challenge anyone not to be uplifted by this recording.
The over-all technical qualities of this album are excellent. Not only does the (very talented) Slovak State Philharmonic play with enthusiasm, but audiophiles will appreciate the roudy brashness of the sound.
excellent value.......2000-05-29
This is an excellent value [...]. The Slovak Philharmonic is quite good. Recording quality is very good. Many of these Suppe' pieces are hard to find. It you like the composer, you will like this recording. Suppe' wrote many operettas and Slovak Philharmonic has recorded several volumes of the Suppe' overtures. I plan to purchase more in the series.

Thomas Hampson is a persuasive advocate for these treasures from the Library of Congress' vast collections, so this CD's generous sampling leaves you wanting more. It covers the American songbook in all its variety, from traditional "folk" items like Shenandoah to Stephen Foster to the immigrants Erich Korngold and Kurt Weill to Leonard Bernstein and contemporary composers. Hampson adjusts his flexible, light baritone to fit each song. The voice is full and resonant on Danny Deever, simple and direct in 19th-century traditional songs and ballads, and nuanced in songs like Ned Rorem's "As Adam Early in the Morning," one of several on the disc with texts by Walt Whitman. A standout is the last song in this recital, one that leaves you with thoughts about music, history, and our nation's continuing issues, "Ethiopia Saluting the Colors," by Henry Burleigh. Most of the selections are performed with piano accompaniment, but several are with a small ensemble of traditional instruments. A word of caution: everything was recorded in the 1990s and presumably was available piecemeal on previous releases, although few are likely to have more than a handful of these 20 gems. --Dan Davis
Customer Reviews:
It's lovely - But not newly recorded!.......2006-10-04
I don't think this recording deserves One Star ratings or that the artist deserves such crude bashing. And re: Hampson's eye-colour.... Uh, these aren't lenses? He has blue eyes. I met him many times and...indeed, they are dark blue.
Anyhow, this is what Hampson is focusing on right now, American song. While those aren't exactly my thing I have to say that he sings them beautifully. I wish he'd stick to that rather than heavy Verdi and Wagner which his voice isn't right for.
Yet another compilation.......2006-06-13
I am a huge Tom fan. I go to his concerts and buy all of his CDs. I must say that I have been disappointed by this CD because it's entirely made of old recordings. There's a new photo on the cover, but that's all that is new here. So if you've bought your share of Tom CDs over the years, you want to check out the track info before you guy this one.
Now, Tom has been on tour and I STRONGLY recommend that you go see him next year when he comes through your city.
The other thing really annoying is that on the CD where you'd expect information about the music or the recording co., you instead get a large warning label from the FBI on pirating.
how precious!.......2006-05-08
Thomas Hampson swoons and croons to monotonous effect throughout this tired collection; again displaying his ego and faux scholarship in ample measure. Oi-vay, what a disaster! And what is with the blue contact lenses in the Jacket phot? Hampson's eyes are brown. What an unbelievably vain Diva!
Disappointing Duplication.......2006-01-17
I have not even heard the album, and I will not. Although I revere Mr. H. in just about everything he does, especially in song and Lieder, I am very disappointed that so many of these songs appear on other cds of which I already have about 19 of him. I think he and the producers should have chosen totally NEW material for this instead of drawing on his past achievements. I have no reservations about his performances, for I have seen him at the Met in opera and at Carnegie Hall in Mahler. I value them and all of his past cd productions.
If you like this sorta thing.......2006-01-17
Here Mr. Hampson is in his element. Unlike his less than viable attempts at Opera, Mr. Hampson is a thorough and intelligent singer of songs. His affectations, so fully inappropriate in bigger operatic literature, work well with the intimate nature of these sweet and personal songs. If you are Hampson fan, this album will thrill you.

Album Description
Clarion is proud to showcase another great American choir, The Choral Project, in a program featuring the music of Eric Whitacre. Included are the ever-popular "Cloudburst" and the "Five Hebrew Love Songs" performed with String Quartet. Founded in 1996 by Artistic Director Daniel Hughes, The Choral Project has performed throughout Northern California in concert performances, interfaith services, and choral festivals, including a performance at the National Cathedral in Washington DC, as part of the California State Day Celebration Service. In June of 2001, The Choral Project received rave reviews and standing ovations at concert performances during their first international tour to Mexico and Costa Rica, which included highly acclaimed performances on Mexican National Radio, and a joint concert with the Café Chorale in Costa Rica. They have performed world premieres of compositions by numerous composers including Eric Whitacre.
Customer Reviews:
Soloists Poor, Vibrato Out Of Control, Spend $ Elsewhere.......2006-04-25
Truly dissapointed with this one.
Of course, BYU's is better than this; the sopranos sound like they have an average age of 60.
The soprano section lives in some wierd dichotomy. During the "Agnus Dei" you get a particularly bad B-52 like vibrato, then during the 7/8 section of "5 Hebrew Songs" they sound like a mediocre State School College Choir with a breathy unsupported sound. Both instances weren't out of tune. They just lacked a firm foundation.
When the soloists in "Tonight Eternity Alone" come in with shocking vibrato and lack of professional musicality, I actually skipped ahead.
If you are looking for a great cd other than BYU's. Try the CD entitled "Cloudburst", sung by Polyphony, conducted by Stephen Layton on Hyperion Records. It will blow you away. Save your money on this one, unless you would like to use this CD to compare the differences between it and either BYU or Polyphony.
Paying a premium fee for this CD, I expected something a bit better than an average grade semi-professional choir.
Daniel, find some new sopranos if you want to continue to sell CD's for $17 a pop.
A fabulous CD!.......2006-03-24
I don't know what these people are talking about. I've heard the BYU cd and it leaves me cold. The tone is so pure and thin that it has no life to it. The Choral Project breathes life into these pieces by Eric Whitacre. Another winner is Frank Ticheli's "There Will Be Rest". Simply stunning. A fabulous CD!
Decent, but too much vibrato.......2006-02-03
I am a huge Eric Whitacre fan, so I am always excited about his recordings. So far the best recording of his Choral works is the BYU singers, which is far superior to this recording. My biggest complaint is that nearly every piece from Water and Light is filled with vibrato. I have read some internet postings by Mr. Whitacre himself and he has said that his pieces are best sung without vibrato because the harmonies are designed to fit tightly together. All the vibrato makes the pieces not sound completely in tune (I'm am not saying that these performers are not capable of singing in tune, just that the vibrato makes the harmonies not quite as strong)
Not bad...BYU is markedly superior........2006-01-29
As the previous reviewer, I'm a huge Eric Whitacre fan. If you're looking for a recording of his Five Hebrew Love Songs (which are stunningly beautiful), may I recommend "Beautiful River" by BYU Concert Choir (on Tantara Records). In comparing the two side by side...well there is no comparison.
Not BYU, but worth adding to your collection.......2006-01-17
Eric Whitacre has taken the contemporary choral music world by storm. Since the release of his collected a cappella works CD (recorded by BYU Singers/Ron Staheli), choral music fans cannot get enough of his music.
Being such a fan, I bought this CD on a whim. I was excited for the opportunity to hear recordings of several pieces not included on the BYU recording (Little Birds, She Weeps Over Rahoon, Five Hebrew Love Songs).
Whitacre's music is as aurally stunning as it is difficult to sing, and the Choral Project does an adequate job of re-interpreting these pieces. If you've gotten use to the excellent quality of the BYU recording, you may be disappointed by this album--the balance and blend of this choir leaves something to be desired at times (not to mention the overly-offensive vibrato from several of the sopranos).
Perhaps the best track on the album is the Ticheli (mostly known for his band/wind ensemble compositions) "There Will Be Rest". If you aren't familiar with this piece, it's worth buying the album just to hear this one...
All-in-all, it's worth buying this album as long as you don't set your expectations too high.
