Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars two big remixers, only one good disc..........2005-10-19

Disc one, mixed by Julian Marsh is mostly painfully cheesy soft house. Track 1 even has a flute part! To come upon track 2, by wailing diva Gizelle Jackson, only to find it's a soft house track-what a disappointment! Track 3 is a cover of Madonna's Power of Goodbye. It's pretty, but I sure wish they could have just given us a good remix of the Madonna version back when it was released. Track 4 is a happy light euro nrg cover of the Celine Dion/R. Kelly track, sung by a female vocalist. Track 5, by the divine Miss Gaynor, is a dramatic disco-flavored tune-not up to today's standards of dance music. The horrible quality of the vinyl record used for track 6 would be really annoying if it were a good song, but it's a real cheesy male vocal track worthy of skipping. Someone That I Used to Love is a cheesy cover of a Melissa Manchester ballad. Track 8 and 9-more cheese and soft house. Gomi gives us a more anthem-type mix on the Nanci Griffith track, and while it's still a happy house track, it just feels more peak hour, and more inline with what Julian Marsh spins on his better mixes-although, the horn solo is torture. "feeling lovely" by Marqus is a real stomper, male vocal, but still one of the best songs on disc 1.

Tony Moran's disc is the real circuit party, beginning with his remix of Gloria Estefan, which starts like a peak hour Moran mix, but quickly segues into a funky disco house mix, which was disappointing to me-the album version is actually better! Can U Feel it, another track by male vocalist Marqus, is a thumpin house track with swirling synths and piano. Tony Moran and Guiseppe D. create an infectious cover of the Bee Gees "You Should Be Dancing" that sounds like it samples the original all the way through with some new vocalist singing the lead. Track 4 is an instrumental Latin house track, and Track 5 is Tony Moran's awesome cover of When in Rome's "The Promise". Cynthia's "Like a Star" cuts out before the really good parts come in. Theme From Love is all bleeps and blips. Believe is a hot one from Jon Secada. Flower Duet is the gorgeous operatic track, cut to less than half its original length here. La Fiesta is a mellow, catchy female vocal track. El Nino is a trancy instrumental, and the last track is a light trance track with female vocal. Moran definitely delivers the better party here. 5 out of 5 stars Smooth, smooth, smooth!.......2004-09-26

Both Julian & Tony do an awesome job with this album. The songs sound like they're made to be faster, but it's sort of medium-paced and sweet!

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite dance CD's ever.......2003-12-23

I've owned this CD for years and always go back to listen to it again. It is one of the best mixes of styles and sounds I've ever heard. Though some of the songs Julian Marsh chose for the first disc are a bit over-inspirational, they are balanced by the quality and complexity of his mixing. The second disc by Tony Moran is simply amazing. He combines everything modern and 80's pop to spanish guitar and opera to produce a euphoric mix that keeps the energy flowing.

5 out of 5 stars WERRRK Julian!!!.......2003-03-13

This CD is what a nice 75 degree summer day at the beach feels like. It's what house and trance music are all about. It makes me happy and smile every time I listen to it. If you ask me, Julian Marsh should do ALL the winter party CDs.

5 out of 5 stars Tony Moran rocks!.......2000-04-21

I liked thefirst CD with Julian Marsh mixing, but found the content to beover-the-top and sometimes too pop-oriented. I did find his mix of MarQus to be one of the best of the album, though.

Tony Moran's disc was much better, in my opinion. I liked virtually every mix (except Flower Duet). Tony's mix of "Promise" should have been released as a single! I loved the power and behind each mix, expecially Jon Secada's "Believe," "Flight of the Flamingos," "Can U Feel It," and "La Fiesta". I keep looking for more by those artists-- but they're sooo hard to find!

An awesome collection of hard-to-find or rare house music. END
