Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars One very good disc, one bad = average.......2006-12-10

I kind of hate discs like this, one good disc, one bad or average. The first disc is downtempo and only 2-3 standout tracks, the rest are rather generic, not good, not bad, just average. There are thousands of CDs like the first one. The second disc however, rocks... it's upbeat, groovy, funky, jazzy sexy, and WILL have you tapping your feet, nodding your head or if you're up, shakin your butt... I really like it, but disc one isn't one that will be played much in my home. If you have other Supperclubs then grab this one, if you don't maybe check out Vol. 8 San Francisco first.

Other fine fixes are Hotel Costes, Buddha Bar, Nirvana Lounge, Barrio Latino, or the wonder that is Claude Challe... If you're paying top dollar, you want consistently great mixes (see my listmanias - click on my reviewer name) and the first CD of this particular edition is a bit of a let down. I couldn't recommend you pay full price for this, unless you're only expecting one really good CD.

3 out of 5 stars Average.......2005-10-20

I bought this album primarilly for one track, My Computer, which is a humorous, yet chill track. I originally heard it on a net radio station. The Superclub series was also reccomended by a friend of mine who is into chillout.

After listening to both CDs about four times apiece, I have to give it an average three stars. After the initial four listenings, I have not listened to it again for several months, although I probably will again in the future. There's nothing especially fantastic about this album, save My Computer. But this is my opinion. On the other hand, it's not especially bad. It's good background music, if a tad odd or annoying in places.

One more thing: the tracklistings here on Amazon coincide with the printed label on the jewel case. Yet the music on "CD1" (as silkscreened on the actual CD) is listed under CD2, and the music on CD2 is listed under CD1. Very strange. I actually did not notice until I tried accessing track 7, which I am familiar with, because these tracks have few lyrics and few clues to the track titles.
