1 out of 5 stars Be careful, might not be the "sound" for you.......2004-12-22

I really enjoy the Ministry of Sound series, one of my favorites being the MoS High NRG Anthems cd, this cd although left me very dissapointed.

It has an incredible lack of energy, there is no trancy sound, no euro sound, no nothing sound. This is generally the problem with American music anyways.

If you like mellow music, while this is still danceable it just isnt like gushing with energy. It is a weaker dance cd. Anywho, just be careful if you like more of the high energy pumping trancy stuff, this cd isn't for you.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad at all.......2004-10-08

Songs 1-6 are great on the first cd. The second cd grows on you. If you are just browsing, it isn't great, but if you hear it from start to end, it is very good.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money.......2003-08-09

Don't get me wrong.. I love Ministry of Sound. But this particular album has nothing of redeeming value on it. I know my dance music.. and there is not anthem to be found on these 2 CD compilation

5 out of 5 stars tasty stuff.......2003-07-30

When I first bought this album, most of the names didnt sound at all familiar (besides Tomcraft, Jessy, Crystal Waters, 4 Strings and Roger Sanchez). But once I popped in Disc 1 (in my opnion the more commercial of the two,) the songs that I had never heard of sounded eerily familiar... Especially Panjabi MC and Dutch feat. Crystal Waters. I'm still not two sure where I've heard them, but I heard a few the other night on "Open House Party." Also I later realized that Wayne Wonder's song was a hit but the remix was SO COMPLETELY (good, but) DIFFERENT! Anyway, I enjoyed this album. I really liked that two different DJ's mixed this, giving each disc a different flavor.

Notice: DJ Skribble's intro is track 1 and Wayne Wonder is track 2. All the tracks are pushed up one. Disc one is, as I said before, more commercial with Jessy and Tomcraft and Wayne Wonder. DJ Skribble's mixing was very good and the songs and order flows very nicely. My favorite tracks from Disc 1 are Wayne Wonder's "No Letting Go," the disco-sounding, "Make Luv," the Indian flavored "Beware of the Boys," "My Time," and the 9:33 "Away."

Disc 2 is less mainstream and was mixed by David Waxman. He mixes all the Ultra compilations besides Ultra.Dance. His mixing on those can be sometimes questionable, but here it is flawless. A lot of times i dont notice the song has changed until the new lyrics which, I believe (being an ameture DJ myself), is the way it's supposed to be. My favorite tracks on this disc were Röyksopp's remix of "Weak Become Heros" (if I could only understand what he was saying!!), Andrea Doria's "Bucci Bag," "Appreciate Me," "Change the world," and NRC's "Here Comes The Rain Again."

I think that this is a very smart mix. Smarter than some of the other stuff I've heard. The songs are for the most part not picked because they will sell albums. If I were to have a party, this is music that I would play. Best DJ mix I've heard. Worth the money.
