Digitally remastered edition of the holy grail of most Moroderphiles. This was the meister producer at his peak, with 'Evolution', 'Wanna Rock You', 'In My Wildest Dreams' and of course, the title track.

Giorgio Is Ready For The 80's.......2007-06-15
On the first day of the first month of the first year of the new 1980's decade,Eurodisco pioneer presents what is (to my knowledge) the first completely live in the studio digital recording;later known as DDD on some late 80's CD's.But this was back when vinyl and various tapes were the only game in town so Moroder really mixes this album hot!The first five songs are basically one long Eurodisco style suite-utilizing the same general techniques you'll find on Kraftwerk and Donna Summer albums of this period (Computer World sounds GREAT alongside this) but Moroder, fresh off of work with Summer chooses a far livelier, more melodic approch with piles of female vocals and vocorder. The style couldn't be more Munich. The final title cut is actually a very interesting song-somewhat polyrhythm for such a disco based recording.Of course the two major selling points of 'E=MC2' is how unlike so much commercial disco this never sounds like product;of a certain time now and then but also far ahead of it's time-those listening to music of the early 21'st century will note how remarkably ahead of it's time this is (the same can be said for Kraftwerk). But the most interesting part of this is the bonus cuts;"Love In You,Love In Me" actually sounds like a pure digitized pop single (not disimilar to "Funkytown" in many ways) and the other "Evolution" is just stunning-a 15 minute hypnotic electronic metranome featuring an array of synthesizers (one of which has got to be the Clavitar) and has the funkiest disco rhythm of anything else here.I don't know if Giorgio Moroder was the very first person to give electronic dance music any kind of human personality. But even if not personality is certainly something this album has in abundance.
I found It.......2007-03-14
I have been searching for this CD for a very long time. I found it listed in other dealers inventory lists but when I went to order it all of them said that it was not in stock and It would be sent to me at a later date. Within 30 days I would receive an e-mail informing me that my order was being cancelled for one reason or another but Amazon actually had it and now I have it. Thank You Amazon.
the worst of GM.......2006-05-05
This is a very simple review. Call it a warning. This album by GM is cheesy, period. The squeaky vocals and the weak synth lines are far inferior to GM's other album, "From Here to Eternity." On that cd, the tracks are very trancy, features electro vocals and nice chord changes. The beat is stronger and harder. Especially good, besides the title track, is track #6: "First Hand Experience in Second Hand Love." Excellent techno riff that lacks the cheesey vocals, dated Expose sound effects and stabs. It just rolls and rolls and rolls. Nice driving cd. However, E=MC2 is a cd to pass on. I was very disappointed. One more note, this album sounds old and dated. "Eternity" could still work a dancefloor now. No one would think it's almost 30 years old.
IT'S A REALLY SHAME...!! .......2004-12-12
DON'T TRY TO FIND PURE DIGITAL SOUNDS HERE,IT IS ONLY A POOR VINYL BACK-UP (MY FOUR YEARS OLD SON CAN MAKE IT BETTER)!.
TELL ME WHO SAID THE "O.K" ON THIS PRODUCTION?.
GIORGIO MORODER?...I DON'T THINK SO....COME ON!!.
DO NOT BUY THIS CD !.DO-NOT-BUY-IT!!
THE MUSIC IS GREAT BUT....THE SOUND QUALITY IS A TOTAL TRASH!.
IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE.
GIORGIO???...WHERE ARE YOU MAN???.
DIGITAL ALBUM???...THIS CD SOUNDS LIKE MY GRANDPA' OLD FONOLA FROM 1921...IMPORTED FROM GERMANY!.
The Dawn of the Digital Age.......2003-07-18
Hello....so you are all used to the Digital Age...imagine way back in 1979...the height of Disco....an LP is released by the greatest Disco maestro..Giorgio Moroder. Little did we know that this was a true groundbreaker in technology. This is the first truly digital recording made for dancing. True, the vocals are rather annoying, but the joy of pure electronics and dancing make this a minor point. Being a former DJ back in the good old days, I remember getting a test pressing of this LP and playing the hell out of it...it looks like I was right in proclaiming this recording as a first but not the last in the process of making dance music and technology one!! Take a tip from me..if you like trance, electronica, techno...do yourself a favor and GET THIS!!!
