5 out of 5 stars The Riddler has mastered the craft!!!.......2003-09-11

This is a great compilation, when I first bought it and listened to all the tracks, I immediately loved about 8 of the 16 songs on there!!! The others began growing on me after a while. My point is...that the Riddler is a master in his craft!! I've been impressed with his work, especially on Dance Mix NYC 2 and Deborah Cox Remixed. It's great to see someone like Rich have a passion for working on dance hits, which is quite rare in our current hip-hop/R & B world.

My favorites are (and I'm biased because I'm a huge fan of these artists:)
Amber "Anyway"
Jocelyn Enriquez "No Way No How"
Deborah Cox " Mr. Lonely"
Kinane "Talk to Me"
Jessy "Look at me Now"
Angie Stone "Bottles and Cans"

Buy this compilation...it's worth the dinero, and you get a killer variety!!

4 out of 5 stars Riddler's Top Ten Fan is Pleased.......2003-06-26

I bought DM NYC VOL 1 and loved it. I just got Vol 3 as a gift, and let me say, his mixes of "No Way No How" and "Look at Me Now" are incredible. He also did a good job bringin the hit "Never" to people's attention. My dad likes it, and he's 48, which proves that the appeal of The Riddler's music spans all generations, not just 18-25 club heads. I also like "At the End", though the mix could have been better. As with Dance Factory Vol 2, there really arent many good club songs out there now. I am a fan of vocals, so I enjoyed most of this cd, though the songs I didn't know yet didn't really get me going. "Bottles and Cans" is not as good a song as some reviewers make it seem to be. I wish these dj's who make compilations of top dance would put mostly popular songs, and no throw on too many non hits yet. I want something I don't have to skip through.

The Riddler rocks! on WKTU and his CD's. I think this cd was the best one he has made so far. It includes the biggest dance hits of today. He starts with some slower tempo type of songs in the beginning with Cassius, Neja, and The Roc Project. Then he boosts it up with club anthems from Amber, Jocelyn Enriquez, and Deborah Cox. Then he gives you a brand new R&B to Dance hit called "Bottles & Cans" by Angie Stone. He then included a couple of underground house/Dance tracks called: "Dark Beat" by Oscar G, "Hum Melody" by Robbie Rivera, and "Talk To Me" by K Klass. He brings his cd together with 6 exclusive hits found nowhere else at the time. My favorite part of the cd is the last 6 songs. Iio "At The End", Marascia "Shake It", Moby "In This World", Drunkenmunky "E", Halo "Say You Will", and Jessy "Look At Me Now". It's a great cd worth the money. The songs on the cd are not played out either. Most of them are fresh dance tracks. Not to mention the cd is mixed by one of my favorite dj's "THE RIDDLER!!!!!!!!#1"

4 out of 5 stars A Decent Collection of Mainstream Dance Hits........2003-04-20

If pop radio is your type of groove, then there's fun to be had in "Dance Mix NYC 3," a collection of mainstream dance hits mixed by The Riddler. Unlike most collections of this nature, this compilation keeps the cheese to a bare minimum and serves up a platter of irresistible grooves. As far as I am concerned, the remix of Angie Stone's "Bottles and Cans" is reason enough to get this entire CD. I loved the original ballad version of this neo soul song and was pleasantly shocked to have heard the disco remix, which has tons of energy and sounds incredible. The fun, fortunately, doesn't end there. Amber's "Anyway" gets an uplifting disco twirl and Hex Hector's remix of the dramafest "Mister Lonely" by Deborah Cox surfaces as well. The disc's second half gets a bit darker, with pumpin' cuts like K Klass's "Talk to Me" and Iio's "At the End." After buying a few subpar dance compilations (names will be withheld to protect the guilty), it's refreshing to know that the crew at Tommy Boy still has the juice to make decent dance records. While nothing here is earth-shattering, it's an overall enjoyable ride that should appeal to most dance music lovers.

5 out of 5 stars The Best of 2003 So Far.......2003-04-14

Awesome collection...the mixes are smooth, the song selection is strong, and the number of tracks ensures you're getting the biggest bang for your buck. Highlights of this are Tina Arena's sweet vocals on "Never (Past Tense)", and the amazing Angie Stone on "Bottles and Cans". If you gotta have your dance fix, this is the one to go for.
