Customer Reviews:
Dear Ipecac.......2006-02-11
Thank you for bringing us this album! Having a wide variety of musical tastes, from bleepy-blippy IDM to pounding techno to swingin' old jazz, I never thought I'd find so many styles combined so easily.
It's like a your music collection got a mind of its own, and then went schizophrenic. Atari Teenage Riot-style assaults layered over jazzy TV theme music... Richard D. James has a nightmare involving 60's spy films...
Whatever, it's a great piece. If you enjoy taking your ears off the beaten path and letting them try something new, pick this up!
Best of its kind........2006-01-30
This is by far the best of the so-called "noise" albums I've ever heard. The style and sound range all over the place. Sometimes it sounds like the soundtrack to an old cop show, and sometimes it sounds like someone firing an automatic weapon at a drum set. I haven't been this excited about finding such an off-center gem since I discovered Mr. Quintron. Do yourself a favor and find some audio clips from the CD. You'll be hooked after a few minutes. Buy it immediately and play it often.
Jazz, glitch and click don't mix.......2005-07-17
It appears as though End wanted to fill some sort of gap in the electronic music spectrum. Although the tracks are crisp and clean, it was almost embarrassing to play it out loud. I can only describe it as immature, throwing a jazz riff here and a Sitar riff there. It sounds like Autechre regressed back to grade school, only End has less purpose and direction in thier tracks. I apologize for the negative criticism, but I just don't see this as a keeper. Even buying it used didn't soften the blow of an album which shouldn't have been. Three stars for putting in the effort to produce the album, but no more. You'd be well advised to spend your cash elsewhere.
Fabulous!.......2004-09-21
I love this album. It's Fast-paced audio and noise rock is just an experience in itself. The all the tracks show a good diversity of tempos, beats and sounds. However, It's similar to K.K Null's Atomik Disorder in that it hints towards chaos. Over all it's a great CD, if you're bored by mainstream garbage, I'm not even sure what Genre this Cd would belong.
It's Fantastic!.......2004-08-31
This album is one of the coolest, craziest things I've heard all year! Definitely one of the coolest things on Ipecac. It's got all sorts of crazy beats like Aphex Twin but then mixes in spy music and surf rock and all these big horn sections and things.
I honestly haven't been able to stop listening to it since I bought it!
