4 out of 5 stars Fun CD.......2007-05-13

You have to be a fan of the Pussycat Dolls to enjoy this CD single. It's a fun, although a little repetitive. Excellent dance music that will get you going and in a good mood!

I love the song but I didn't expect the lyrics to have foul language so I can't play it around any young kids.

4 out of 5 stars From obnoxious to infectious........2006-05-02

When I first heard Don't Cha I thought it was an obnoxious song.

I saw maybe 30 seconds of The Dolls performing on the Nick Awards and was offended once again thinking this song was too mature for a Nickelodeon audience. But for some reason, I was interested, and so I listened to the 30 second clips here on Amazon and was impressed. I bought the album and haven't been disappointed so far.

Even some fans say The Pussycat Dolls shouldn't be taken too seriously and that no one is looking for them to win a Grammy for anything. But why not? Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl was nominated for Record of the Year. If Hollaback Girl can be nominated, nobody should give up hope. Now, I love Hollaback Girl, but that's like saying you love an Adam Sandler movie: it hasn't anything to do with award shows.

So don't shoot down the girls' chances. It seems like anybody has a shot these days in the age where we see record sales as a sign of greatness and where it's okay to copy, sample, and recycle without adding anything new of your own.

Who needs Pat Benatar and the overweight Wilson sisters when you have these lovely ladies? I see a bright future for them, and I love this single. It sounds like a Destiny's Child song but better. Oh, the ways I love this single. Get it now!

1 out of 5 stars Garbage (Rating: 0 out of 10- -0 stars).......2007-03-03

This song sucks. The Vagina Cat Dolls song "Don't Cha" is pretty stupid and overrated. I hear that song on every commercial, and they play this song into the ground at my school at every party. These girls remind me of the group Dream from Bad Boy back in 2001, sexy females with no singing talent. That is what is shown on this album, no singing talent what so ever. But Dr. Dre said "Sex sells", but I'm glad that I didn't buy their full length CD. As for Busta Rhymes, he does absolutely nothing to this song. Not even his fast rhyming can save this song. Although if you're one of those people who listen to those radio stations where they play a lot of mainstream music or watch MTV alot, then you will love this song and probably their CD. I find it to be just overrated to the core. Word to any other pop artist that uses sex appeal with no singing talent. 0 stars!

5 out of 5 stars Yes...Yes I Do.......2006-07-08

Honestly, at first I thought the song was horrible and the original recording by Tori Alamaze was the version that I had first been graced with. To me, it sounded like tribal dance music from some humid, arid place I had never been to and didn't want to go..ever. This was in late 2004. Come mid 2005 the Pussycat Dolls got their hands on it and I still hadn't been able to listen to it the whole way through...that is until it was played on the radio every two seconds and I gave in. Still, didn't like it. It wasn't until the "Don't Cha" wave was slidding down the charts from it's no.2 position on the Hot 100 that I took a liking to the song. It didn't hurt that the girls in the video were hot (Especially Nicole Scherzinger, the lead. How people can say otherwise is beyond me because the woman is gorgeous with a body to kill...this one especially goes to the former fat chick, 0 Star Reviewer, who claims she looked better than them when was however many pounds overweight-- RIGHT. I highly doubt that, even with your "new and improved" body. Sorry) No, the song isn't deep, no there aren't any meaningful life changing lyics accompanied by the bass ridden melody, but this is Pop muisc (Pop/R&B) made to dance to, meaning-- THE LYRICS AREN'T MEANT TO DEEPLY TOUCH YOUR SOUL. They're meant to be catchy and stick to you and that's just what they do. Also, I don't know why everyone is throwing stones at Nicole because she has a beautiful voice with just enough grit AND finesse. Sorry Tori Alamaze fans, this is the music industry and she just didn't cut it so the song was handed to someone else who did it better and was marketable. That's just how it goes. And I bet you wish you could say otherwise. Don't cha?

1 out of 5 stars boastful music that rots.......2006-03-06

What's with the chorus of this song? It's so obnoxious! "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?" The singer isn't hot at all in my opinion and can't sing worth crap. This song annoys me in every aspect, has oh so despicable lyrics, a terrible beat, and is just an abomination to modern music. This song gives me chills I hate it so much. Don't buy this freakin' single, it is sooooooooooooooo bad. Girls can't rap either

2 out of 5 stars Don Cha Wish Your Girlfriend Was A Slut, Like Me?.......2006-02-14

Well, that's kind of how I figured this song, after seeing the video. Kind of sounds like what an ex-girlfriend would say to you, after she comes back 20 pounds lighter, in an effort to make you wish you'd stuck with her (I have an ex like this).

Actually, this group is like a long string of "girl" groups, i.e. Expose, the Flirts, Company B, the Spice Girls, the Cover Girls, Sweet Sensation and heaven knows how many others: girls that can sing kind of, look sexy with all the songs written and produced by a man (or men) with some serious sexual frustration, or perhaps trying to answer some gay or transexual questions within themselves.

Okay, that's probably a bit much; but this song is gonna be about it for the PCDs. They might get a couple more suggestive songs and vids out of it, but after that, they'll be on the slush pile, and the subject of a Where Are They Now question on VH-1.

5 out of 5 stars Put it in the clubs...please!!!.......2006-09-17

I've been searching forever to get this single and finally have. You can probably imagine my joy when I found it in the store. I wasn't disappointed in it; the remixes were very impressive (except the DJ Dan one).

RALPHI'S HOT FREAK RADIO MIX 4:17
This remix is a must-buy...seriously. Not only is this the best one on the single, it's the best of Ralphi Rosario's work. Better than his remixes of Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" and Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous", which was still pretty good. Get this one now, you won't find another like this!!! 1000/10

KASKADE RADIO EDIT 3:34
For some reason, this remix reminds me of Chris Cox's remix of "Walk Away". But this one's better. While not as impressive as Ralphi Rosario's remix, this one stays true to the original (but minus Busta Rhymes, just like the others) and the background voices are the same. It's fun. 9/10

RALPHI'S HOT FREAK 12" VOX MIX 9:56
Longer version of track 1, and the longest on the single; who cares?? It NEEDS to be played in the clubs, it's so darn catchy! Hands down to Mr. Rosario for such an amazing mix. No wonder people love it so much! Definately one of the best remixes I've heard in a long time. 1000/10

KASKADE CLUB MIX 6:49
Same as track 2, but longer. See track 2 for my opinion. 9/10

DJ DAN'S SQUEGEE DUB 8:20
I hate dubs, plain and simple. In dubs, there are no lyrics, just beat and you can't really follow along with them. This one is no exception. I think the sounds are annoying and the whole thing should not have been on here. 0/10

So, except for the DJ Dan dub, this single's great. You won't be wasting your money.

Sammy thanks for listing the tracks for the single, I have been trying to find this version for awhile now and could only find it on Itunes website.

If your tired of the version that comes on the radio check this one out, IT IS ON FIRE!! I first seen it on Itunes and like these remixes better than the regular ones. This is mostly club and house mixes but is defintely better than the other singles, so dont waste your money on those and get this one.

5 out of 5 stars Melodies to miraculously cure the moribund!!!.......2005-09-10

This 2000 3-CD set is a new edition of 2-CD set from 1990 titled "Opérette-Passion" from EMI France. By popular request, this adds to the already mirific collection a third CD containing some of the real glories of mid-XXth century French operettas: Maurice Chevalier, Tino Rossi, Fernandel, Alibert, Denise Duval, Luis Mariano, Georges Guétary, Bourvil, Mathé Altéry, Anny Cordy, Gise Mey and Armand Mestral. The selection is not exhaustive - that would be impossible* - but it does give any listener a major incentive to go ferretting for more of the same and the complete score of some of those genuine masterpieces of charm, humour and melody by Fancis Lopez or Maurice Yvain (among many others). For students of the French language and French opera, this collection is priceless as it gives a very good impression of what makes the French singing voice different from any other: something called "le phrasé", which unfortunately cannot be duplicated or improvised by international stars who simply dabble in French (except maybe the multi-talented Petula Clark). The recordings range from a restored antique of the 20's by Chevalier to full stereo scores from the 70's. The result is a package whose value will never be duplicated in discriminating choice, sound quality and sheer listening enjoyment. One very minor reservation : The dates of the recordings are not indicated as they were in the "Opérette-Passion" collection and the names of the lyricists are not given. The liner notes are composed of a 2-page essay which gives a general outlook of the evolution of French operetta (in French) but could have been a little longer, in my humble opinion. Details like this would have made the difference between a wonderful album for connoisseurs and a genuinely educational tool. * The operettas of Vincent Scotto are not represented. WARNING: These recordings are genuine treasures and are never available for long either individually of collectively, so buying this collection is an absolute no-brainer.

5 out of 5 stars FROM OFFENBACH TO LOPEZ.......2002-08-16

Yesterday ,before going to sleep, you told your wife:I have nothing against FRENCH operettas, but what i want to hear is the songs ,not the dialogue that goes with the genre when you listen to complete works. Here in that collection, all the composers who created that particular form of light music are represented. It is so much more entertaining than traditional opera.Among the highlights are songs from OFFENBACH's works like LA BELLE HÉLENE and LA PÉRICHOLE;MESSENGER's VERONIQUE and MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE;the famous LA VEUVE JOYEUSE that was successfull around the world;CHRISTINÉ's PHI PHI created the day after armistice in 1918.One of the pleasant surprize for me was hearing songs from LES MOUSQUETAIRES AU COUVENT and one from LA FILLE DE MADAME ANGOT (JADIS,LES ROIS)and another from CIBOULETTE(NOUS AVONS FAIT UN BEAU VOYAGE).MADY MESPLÉ,one of the best singers of the genre is featured on seven songs, and she is always a joy to hear in any role of the repertoire.FRANCIS LOPEZ, who is remembered as the last important composer is well honoured with eight selections with singers like BOURVIL,GEORGES GUÉTARY and LUIS MARIANO.Don't try to resist THE MERRY WIDOW ,she'll get to you one way or another.

      4 out of 5 stars BETTER.......2006-06-14

I agree with most of the other reviews. Tori's version is WAY better than the Pussycat Dolls. I actually heard this song almost a year before the PCD's version came out (I remember this preceisely because the first time I heard it was when I was in the car with my ex and a few months after that we broke up). Tori's got more SOUL and her version sound raw rather than kiddy pop.

5 out of 5 stars All of yall are sleepin'!.......2005-11-14

This version is ten times better than the pussycat dolls. They played this version on Power 106 in Los Angeles, and the pussycat dolls just took over and copied Tori's version. The lead of the pussycat dolls does not have her own style...sad! I have Tori's version and I bump it in my V-8 Expedition baby on the way to work. Screw the pussycat dolls.

1 out of 5 stars ........This version is horrible!!.......2005-09-28

I honestly can't believe there are people who actually prefer this version to the Pussycat Dolls'. Tori Alamaze (yeah, I've never heard of her before either) has a terrible voice, it isn't nearly as seductive and smooth as Nicole's. Her out-of-breath croaks did not deserve radio play, I'm so glad the PCD version is all they play. The production is also a little crummier than PCD's, the backing track just doesn't sound as good. I'm glad PCD included Busta on their version, because the beginning of Tori's version is tediously long, and plays nothing but the backing track for like 40 seconds....PCD at least fills that dull stretch out with Busta's raps. I think some people are just bitter over the fact that PCD got famous over a song that essentially wasn't theirs (but did Tori write this...? I assume not), but this version is undeniably less fun than PCD's. Don't waste your money. Go buy the much better version.

5 out of 5 stars All I know is that this girl can sing!.......2005-05-21

The best "Don't Cha"! Tori Alamaze is a very talented artist and I hope she makes more music because this song is HOT! Very catchy beat and lyrics. This song rocks!

      5 out of 5 stars WOW...BETTER THAN ANYTHING..........2005-05-19

I just wanna say straight up that this version of Tori Alamaze's Don't Cha is way better than that one of Pussycat Dolls...Don't get me wrong them Pussycat Dolls did copy her lyrics and style quite all right yet Busta Rhymes killed it totally...WAY...Anyways this O.G. Original style TORI ALAMAZE does a way better job and give MAD props to her for making it...Awesome song and recommend TORI's version a whole lot better...AND THATS ON THE REAL!!!

      Junior Morales

P.S. Like I said don't be confused with the real voice that did this song justice...TORI ALAMAZE...

It's upbeat demeanor is nice but the lyrics are kinda crazy, if not funny.

      2. Right Time...4 stars.
This song is pretty good. Joss exercises her vocals here nicely.

All in all, 4 stars. I think this is an okay purchase but you might as well get a whole album for the better price. Like it's been said, Right Time is a good song but not quite worth the whole price.

4 out of 5 stars A great song for anyone who has been passed by..........2006-02-06

This song has great lyrics, great music, and with the sexiest soul siren singing it, makes it perfect! And it also includes the much loved song from her GAP commercial, I know I loved it. A must have for any Joss Stone fan!

      1 out of 5 stars "Don't cha wanna ride'.......2005-08-31

No, I don't. I want some of your money from your record sales, Joss. I'm broke as Hell. I'm sorry but I'm just not felling this song. It is really pointless. The lyrics make no sense. "A car this fine don't pass your way every day don't cha wanna ride?" It's like Joss is comapring her car to a lover. I don't look a car and say "I'ma F@@@ HIM!"
