Avoid at all costs!.......2006-01-08

I was just too disgusted when I listened to the version of "Rivers Of Babylon" that opens this CD. The greatest Boney M hit appears here in a sort of remixed dance version that made me feel like smashing the disc. Forget about this little mistake of a release and go for the 1992 Boney M compilation named "Gold".

Finally, a sweet De Ja Vue!.......2005-12-21

Today on my way home from NY Chinatown, I re-discover Boney M's music from the bus driver's speaker. This is a pleasant suprise to me, because the last time I ever listen to their music was back to my childhood in Taiwan, although I couldn't understand any English then, their "Rivers of Babylon" was a great hit, and I remember I like it very much back then. Now I barely remember it but I re-heard it again and still it's great. Thanks to this bus driver, his music made me go home and googled about the song, and the group who did this song, and the reaserch lead me to this album.

I don't have this album yet, but I sampled most of songs on the bus, so I really feel it deserves a five stars rating! I'll order the album as soon as I got my next pay check. Listen to it brings back some sweet memories of my childhood!

Pleasure to the ears.......2004-03-28

I gave this CD collection 4 stars because three great songs, "El Lute", "I'm Born Again" & "Malaika" were omitted. Nevertheless, I have listened to this CD over and over and over again without ever getting bored or tired of hearing this group's melodious rhythm. For me, it's very difficult to choose a favourite song but the ones that stand out the most are "Ma Baker", "Rasputin", "Rivers Of Babylon", "He Was A Steppenwolf" & "Gotta Go Home. Listening to Boney M takes me back to a time in my life when I didn't have a care in the world. All I had to do was eat, sleep, play, attend school and of course do the one and two chores around the house but I digress. Boney M... A GREAT GROUP!!! I now realise that this group didn't get the worldwide recognition that they truly deserved.

For over 20 years I have listened to a very bad tape made off the radio of most of "Mary's Boy Child". The Christmas tree never went up without the tape playing. I am so excited to get a good copy and to hear even more from them.

I am so glad Amazon.com has Boney M. I have searched everywhere and asked so many people, and it seemed as though no one in the great US of A had ever heard of this band. Their music especially their Christmas Album is the best that anyone can have during the holidays.
It is practically a trademark of my family in Ghana and has been for the last 15 years. No Christmas is the same without Boney M. I highly recommend it for families everywhere.
