Solid for the price.......2005-11-15

Pure Trance is a nice unmixed alternative to the often boring mixed cd's from Oakenfold and Armin van Buuren. Pure trance 4 is also not as cheesy and vocal based as the Trance Party and Ultra Trance series. Stand-out songs are Cosmic Gate's "Tomorrow", Kate Ryan's' remixed "Only If I", and M.O.P.E.'s "It's Dawning Upon Me". Ultimately Pure Trance 4 is a nice low cost alternative to the Dream Dance series, but I prefer the harder side of trance in Tunnel Trance Force, or the partier side in the Future Trance compilations.

Equally as good as the previous vols........2005-03-16

If you like the Pure Trance series then you'll like this one. I'm really glad that Cosmic Gate's song "Tomorrow" sounds more like the Cosmic Gate that I first fell in love with rather than their last few songs that totally lacked creativity. I hope now it's safe to say that Cosmic Gate is back. Needless to say, "Tomorrow" is somewhere in my top three picks for songs on this cd. Another top three contender for me is definitely Spoke & Vespa's remix of "6am", but I wish it was longer.(2:45!) Its still the best song I've ever heard from spoke & Vespa. DJ Zenith's "Energy" reminds me of the days when Techno was actually good, and is definitely the most "rave-able" song on here. Unfortunately, the repetition of the words "we have, we love, and we made it" during the climax of the song prevents me from enjoying the climax. But there are lots of other great songs on here that would take me too long to mention. Oh wait, one last song I definitely have to mention is Mind One's mix of "Journey to Paradise". I'm growing very fond of Mind One. This is the second song I've heard from them, and its to die for! Its the kind of song that I would play for a Trance skeptic (we all know at least one!). Anyway, good solid trance album, go out and add it to your collection!
