Lost Language help shaped the ever present trance scene in it's heyday. If you were a regular in the past years of Gatecrasher and Cream, then you would be very familiar with a lot of these tracks as many became anthems for DJs and clubbers alike.

Over the years few labels can boast such a fine selection of tracks as Lost Language. Here, over two disks beautifully mixed by Ben Lost, are 22 marvelous tracks molded in to two uplifting sessions of the best dance music in the world. There are so many great tracks here, such as Miro’s ‘By Your Side’ (Sonorous Mix) and Probspot - Midnight, U&K - Switchback, and Tilt - Goodbye that you will listen to the two plus hours of music on these disks and wonder where the time went.

3 out of 5 stars Mediocre.......2005-02-11

This is not a bad compilation, but neither is it a great one. Overall it lacks any distinguishing characteristics. The first disk is pleasant, but the second disc is marred by two poor tracks: #4 (U&K "Switchback") sounds like a game of Pac-Man, and
#5 (Young Parisians Ft Ben Lost "Jump The Next Train") features vocals comprised of adolescent poetry recited into a vocoder. If you want trance, I recommend Armin van Buuren's "A State of Trance 2004" before this.

5 out of 5 stars Reminiscent of great Global Underground's of old........2004-10-23

I couldn't help but thinking that the sounds radiating off these two CD's reminded me of some of the great GU releases of the past, which contained great progressive trance with a smidgen of melodic vocal trance. Ben Lost arranges what has to be the best Progressive trance mix in a long, long time, as the previous trance maestro's like Dave Seaman, Sasha, and Nick Warren, have all gone fully over to the progressive house side of dance music, and it's nice to see what the trance side of electronic music still has to offer.

The tracklisting on here is like a "best of" current trance with some huge tracks like Critical 7's Lost, Miro's By Your Side, and Tilt's The World Doesn't Know. You also get Sonorous, U&K, and Probspot, who all have had their tracks spun by all the best DJ's this year.

Definitely a CD not to be missed. There are very few great 2 disc sets released anymore, and this is certainly one of them.

5 out of 5 stars Astounding! Best Trance CD I have heard in years!.......2004-09-06

Ben Lost has outdone himself. I was always a fan of the Lost Language releases but to have them so seamlessly mixed is a huge treat. It's no wonder why Paul van Dyk and Tiesto never leave home without some Lost Language Music in their bags. My personal favorite track is Critical 7 Lost.
