Huge hits, big remixers...but songs are too short.......2005-10-15

As usual, DJ Escape plays the hits and introduces us to some more obscure tracks we may have missed otherwise. The first 2 vocal tracks are light disco house, but then things get pumpin with the Peter Presta mix of Lola's "No Strings." I would have preferred a longer version of this track and had him pass on the boring, mostly instrumental cover of "pump up the jam" that follows. "Hollaback Girl" is a pretty good cover version of Gwen Stefani. Deborah Cox's "Easy as Life" is half it's original length, and considering this Tony Moran mix was never released as a CD single, it could have benefited from a longer version (yuo can find a longer version on one of Tony Moran's mix CDs). "the Fruit" is filler and could have been cut. The hugely popular "Call me" by Anna Vissi is remixed by Lee Cabrera here. "Tempted to Touch" gets a cover version way too generic, and perhaps should have been left off. The Bob Sinclair mix of the #1 Billboard dance hit "Summer Moon" is a good six minutes long, which is much appreciated since this one is hard to get on CD. "So Many Times" is a catchy disco house track with lots of energy and memorable female vocals. "Let the Sun Shine" is dark and hard-an excellent track that almost seems out of place alongside the other more mainstream stuff on here. "Think About the Rain" is a hard hitting diva vocal track I would love to have in its full version. And finally, things end with the one and only Vanessa Williams, mixed by the one and only Junior Vasquez. Awesome finish to a party disc that hits a few bumps here and there. Track times:
