5 out of 5 stars Kylie Greatest Hits CD.......2007-03-08

My 6 year old son is Kylies greatest fan.
He loves it and hasn't played much else since, he particularly likes the locomotion, je ne sais pas ...., step back in time and better the devil you know. It is typical bubbly pop of it's age but quite high quality and well produced. The 22 tracks range from debut "I should be so lucky" to "Celebration" and this CD is a must for all Kylie collectors.

5 out of 5 stars The early hits.......2005-05-03

In 1980's Britain, the most successful pop record producers were the team of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. Many of their singers faded from popularity as quickly as they emerged, leaving a legacy of doubtful importance. A rose above the rest but the star that shone the brightest was Kylie. This is the definitive compilation of Kylie's music from that period, notably including her UK chart-topping duet with Jason Donovan, Especially for you, which originally appeared on one of his albums but did not appear on any of Kylie's original albums.

Nobody who was around in Britain in the late eighties will ever forget the chorus line of her first hit (one of several British number one records) - I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky - it's the kind of song you either love or hate. Many hate it, and I sometimes feel I ought to - but no, I love it. There was always something about Kylie, even then, that set her apart as something special.

Most of these songs were written and/or produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman. There are a few covers and it was two of these - Locomotion (the Little Eva sixties classic) and Tears on my pillow (the Little Anthony fifties classic) - that aroused my interest in Kylie's music. They are both brilliant - indeed, Locomotion provided Kylie with her only huge American hit during this period. As to Tears on my pillow, I've heard several versions. Kylie should be proud of her cover, which gave her another huge hit. Give me just a little more time (Chairmen of the board) and Celebration (Kool and the gang) provide further evidence of Kylie's ability to revive oldies and take them high up the charts.

Je ne sais pas porqoui (an English language song despite it's chorus line), Got to be certain, Hand on your heart, Better the devil you know and Wouldn't change a thing are among the other classic UK hits to be found here.

While many will continue to dismiss Kylie (especially these early hits), she is much better than many of the singers she is sometimes compared to, and has proved it by lasting longer than any of her critics thought possible.

Just a warning - if you got into Kylie's music because of her more recent material, you will find that her early music is very different. It is possible to enjoy both her recent music and her early music (as I do) but not everybody does.

5 out of 5 stars Legacy of a pop legend-Kylie's early best.......2004-03-13

Following Let's Get To It, Kylie Minogue released a retrospective of songs comprising her hit-making years with British bubblegum pop machine Stock-Aitken-Waterman on their PWL label. A whole pack of bubblegum? Well, it wouldn't be such a big deal were it not for the fact that Kylie's first six singles debuted at #1 or #2, and her first 11 singles made the Top Five.

Six songs are taken from her debut, hardly surprising, as that album went diamond worldwide (10 mill. copies sold). Her cover of Little Eva's "The Locomotion" spent 7 weeks at #1 in Australia, her home, and darned if her cover outdid that of the original and Jackie and the Raindrops' rendition. The equally infectious "I Should Be So Lucky," simultaneously at #1 in the UK and Australia, broke her worldwide, while I first heard of Kylie via her UK #2 hit "Got To Be Certain." "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi" French for I Don't Know Why, was another UK #2, and "Turn It Into Love" went to #1 in Japan.

From Enjoy Yourself, we have her first hit duet, the ballad "Especially For You," sung with Jason Donovan, which was the UK's first #1 song of 1989, the #1 UK "Hand On Your Heart," classic S-A-W, "Wouldn't Change A Thing," the vivacious "Never Too Late," and her cover of Little Anthony and the Imperials' "Tears On My Pillow."

The singles from Rhythm Of Love continue the formula, especially with "Better The Devil You Know," a song later covered by Welsh group Steps, and with its "I wanna funk, I wanna F-F-F U-N-K" intro and vivacious beat, "Step Back In Time," replete with references to 70's soul titles and even the O'Jays. "Shocked" became Kylie's 13th hit and 13th Top Ten single in the UK. Quite a record! What's not apparent here is that on some non-single tracks, Kylie actually began her hand at songwriting, co-writing with Steve Bray

From Let's Get To It, which showed Kylie co-writing some songs with Stock and Waterman, there's her best ballad, another duet, the regret of "If You Were With Me Now" with R&B singer Keith Washington, a strings and piano ballad that was a Christmas 1991 release. Another highlight: the bouncy horns in her cover of Chairman of the Board's "Give Me Just A Little More Time," a #2 hit that became her 15th UK Top 5, and another ballad, "Finer Feelings."

The new songs: "What Kind Of Fool (Heard All That Before)" harkens to the early bubblegum of her first two albums, with more sophisticated synths. This and the ballad, "Where In The World?," whose lush strings, horns, and drums recalls the pop of Petula Clark and Dusty Springfield, with a nod to 70's disco, were both written by Stock, Waterman, and Minogue. And what a way to end the album than with her cover of Kool and the Gang's "Celebration."

If anything this collection is quite a legacy. Kylie's a pop institution in Europe, Australia, and Japan, and while it's sad that she never broke through with most of these hits in the US, perhaps now there's some redress of the situation with her two most recent albums, Fever and Body Language, but this is the better material, people. Following this compilation, Kylie would enter a transition period, trying out new sounds with her self-titled album and Impossible Princess, before returning to disco, but sans Stock-Aitken-Waterman.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie's Poptastic Past.......2002-07-25

Greatest Hits. Quite a generic title for a hits compilation, no? But despite, it really is some of Kylie Minogue's greatest tunes. Containing all her singles from her PWL period, including her three US top 40 singles from that time - "I Should Be So Lucky", "The Loco-Motion", and "It's No Secret". Her Japanese number one single "Turn It Into Love" is also present, amongst the rest of her UK smash hits. Great pop song after great pop song follow each other, with very few patches in between. The highest point of the album is the killer quartet from her third album "Rhythm Of Love", four catchy and fun dance pop classics - "Better The Devil You Know", "Step Back In Time", "What Do I Have To Do", and "Shocked". Those are some of the strongest of her career with SAW, while some of the other goodies include "Wouldn't Change A Thing", "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi", and "Word Is Out". And as for the patches I mentioned earlier, be aware of dodgy cover versions of "Tears On My Pillow" and "Celebration", and an overly sappy duet with Jason Donovan on "Especially For You". If Madonna is the people's pop queen, this prove's Kylie is the people's pop princess, a collection of hits almost as essential as "The Immaculate Collection" it self.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie - the Glory Years.......2002-05-21

Many younger audiences know Kylie as the singer who did "Can't Get You Out of My Head," but the truth is that she was a superstar years before this single. This hits collection has all the singles from her Stock-Aitken-Waterman years. Frothy, perfect pop that goes down easy. "I Should Be So Lucky," "Got to Be Certain," "Hand on Your Heart," "The Better the Devil You Know," and "What Kind of Fool" are slices of such well-crafted pop, despite the many critical blows S/A/W took in their heyday. This CD shot to No. 1 in the UK charts, and it's easy to see why. Celine may have the better voice, and Madonna may have more hits, but when it comes to down-to-earth charm, you can't beat Kylie. A diva with none of the divatude.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie Delivers a Non-Stop Smile!.......2006-12-26

From the first note to the last, this album says it all!!! Here are 34 reasons why Kylie is the worldwide lord of dance and queen of pop!!!

Encompassing her SAW/PWL/Hit Factory days ("I Should Be So Lucky", "Got To Be Certain") and DeConstruction era ("Breathe," "Put Yourself In My Place"), not a beat is skipped! Although MASSIVELY successful overseas, Kylie showcases a wealth of talent throughout this collection that the US has underestimated and underappreciated. Furthermore, her covers of American trademark singles "The Loco-Motion," "Give Me Just A Little More Time," "Celebration" and Tears On My Pillow" are more proof of Kylie's stunning voice and incredible talent! This compilation perfectly serves as an encyclopedic volume of Kylie's career. As a bonus, this set is a non-stop DJ stash.

Although all tracks are phenomenal, highlights include "Got To Be Certain," "Hand On Your Heart," "Wouldn't Change A Thing," "Confide In Me," "Finer Feelings" and "Breathe".

3 out of 5 stars Should only be a single cd. Take the alternative cuts out.......2005-10-19

Take out all the remix, radio edit, 2002, espana mix etc and 12 inch selections (comes to 13) and you have a great single cd recording that new comers to K M would buy.

To me, they are unnecessary and not as good as the regular songs.

Worse, they are mixed in with the regular songs.

People wanting the alternative mixes would probably buy a cd of such, and probably have all the regular cuts.

By the way, why does Amazon include a 'NO' in 'was this review helpful to you?'. People are only human and don't like opinions that differ from themselves. With some who are less mature, this the 'NO' makes it too easy express such displeasure.

Are they trying to discourage negative reviews, hence not purchase the CD. Such reviews only help a person in not being dissatisfied a product that received positive reviews

5 out of 5 stars Amazing CD with many great songs.......2005-06-07

I'm a big Kylie fan and this CD is my favourite. Almost all songs on CD1 is great and CD2 is good but some of the remixes are sadly not that good. Buy this now and enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Kylie.......2005-05-22

This is an excellent compilation if you are interested in discovering Kylie's early work before she became a superstar with hits like 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' and 'Slow'.

This covers Kylie's first ten years of making pop music, and if you think she does it well now, her early stuff is equally good.

This two-disc compilation features classics like 'I Should Be So Lucky', 'Better the Devil You Know', 'Shocked', 'What Do I Have To Do?', 'Step Back In Time' and her covers of 'Celebration', 'The Locomotion' and 'Give Me A Little More Time'.

It also features Kylie's underrated material for the Deconstruction label, including 'Confide In Me' and 'Did It Again'; songs considered more avant-garde for Kylie, yet they are perfect pop masterpieces with slightly more edge than we would expect from Kylie.

There are also a number of bonus remixes, making this a generous compilation.

I agree with Thunderhexed that although there is 'Ultimate Kylie' out there, this collection is equally listenable. 'Ultimate Kylie' only gives a fair sampling of Kylie's early work while focusing more on her post-2000 career.

Kylie has amassed an impressive body of work, and I highly recommend this collection. In fact, I consider it one of Kylie's essential CDs.

5 out of 5 stars This cd re-ignited my passion for Kylies work!.......2005-03-03

I remember ver distinctly back in the day when Kylie's locomotion was all the rage on the radio. For my birthday my mother bought me Kylie's first album on cassette which I still have to this day. When her second cd, "Enjoy Yourself" was released, i picked it up, after that, Kylie was not heard from again in the U.S. It wasn't until the release of her "Fever" cd that I had thought anything about her. Upon hearing the bonus track "Butterfly", I knew there was much more to be learned. While in the cd store one day I came across this greatest hits cd, so I picked it up. It sparked a whole new love affair with Kylie. Within a period of about 6 months I ordered every album she released in the UK and Australia, every remix cd available, and even found the companion dvd to this greatest hits package. Kylie has DEFINATELY pushed Madonna out of the limelight for me. Kylie's music is just as pure and fun as her voice is smooth. If you can find the companion dvd to the greatest hits disc it's WELL worth it. It includes rare interviews, alternate video versions, behind the scenes video shoots(with a cameo by sister Danni) as well as a wonderful photo slide show that plays along to an instrumental verison of "Turn It Into Love", which, available on her debut disc, was only a big hit in Japan, other than my bedroom. Along came the Ultimate Kylie cd and dvd, which, of course I purchased, but I still find myself going back to this compilation for some classic Kylie. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! The remix bonus disc is awesome too, Hi-lights on that disc are the Movers n Shakers mixes of Better the Devil You know and What Do I have to DO..sure , peak time, club floor fillers modernized for today!

5 out of 5 stars The final chapter of Kylie's Greatest Remix Hits albums.......2005-03-27

The final chapter of Kylie's Greatest Remix Hits albums is this one. It includes 18 great tracks, spread out onto 2 discs, all in 1 great package!

Some of the best tracks are the remixes of What Do I Have To Do, Things Can Only Get Better, Made In Heaven, Let's Get To It, Step Back In Time and Finer Feelings is a great instrumental version but all of the tracks are great.

You can always rely on Kylie for the best remixes, old songs or new, so pick this up now. Not to say you musn't pick up Volumes 1, 2 & 3 either because if you can find them, don't hesitate to buy them!

To get to know a little more about the remixes on this disc, I will go through the tracks and say a little bit about them.

Disc 1 is first. First you get a very danceable remix of What Do I Have To Do. There are 2 remixes of The Locomotion on Disc 1. The first is similar to the australian version of the song and the second is kind of like an extended version. Made In Heaven provides a dub version where Kylie's vocals dip & rise all over the place! Wouldn't Change A Thing is very 'rare' and funky. Better The Devil You Know is a bit softer than the original version. Things Can Only Get Better and Let's Get To It are extended versions. Let's Get To It is remixed by Tony King. What Kind Of Fool was remixed by Pete Waterman and is kind of like an extended version.

Then you get Disc 2. I Should Be So Lucky is an extended version with some new piano beats. The third remix & final of The Locomotion is a slightly different version to the album one. Hand On Your Heart is another great remix. I Am The One For You is a new unreleased track. Step Back In Time is remixed by Tony King and has some new sounds added. Too Much Of A Good Thing is an extended version. If You Were With Me Now is a beautiful orchestral track with Keith Washington. Finer Feelings is an instrumental track and the orchestra arrangment (or atleast that's what it sounds like!) is amazing. Celebration nicely rounds off this great double dose of remixes!

The best of the Remix Hits is this one but I strongly suggest that you pick up all 4 of them to make the set. This album is so great! I'd give all of the tracks 10/10 apart from the Locomotion Remix (Boy Meets Girl) which i'd give 9/10.

5 out of 5 stars The second volume of Kylie's popular remix series.......2005-06-03

This is the second volume of Kylie's extremely popular remix series and personally, I think it is the best of all four. Of course, all four are worth buying if you are a fan of Kylie's older music, or extended remixes in particular. These remixes span a four-year period from 1988-1992, which is Kylie's PWL era, with Stock, Aitken and Waterman, now down to a duo with the exit of Aitken. It features some spectacular remixes and hits.

Enjoy lots of Kylie's earlier hits, including Got To Be Certain, Especially For You (duet with Jason Donavon), Hand On Your Heart, Better The Devil You Know, The Loco Motion, Give Me Just A Little More Time, Finer Feelings and more. Not only is this a incredible and popular remix series, the second volume features four UK #1's - Especially For You, Hand On Your Heart, Tears On My Pillow, and I Should Be So Lucky is included in Kylie's Smiley Mix (Extended), which also features I'll Still Be Loving You, It's No Secret (single in Japan), Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, Turn It Into Love and Got To Be Certain.

There are some really high points on this brilliant double-disc remix set, featuring extended versions of such hits as Got To Be Certain, Hand On Your Heart, Better The Devil You Know and Shocked. Also featured are some really heartfelt ballads, such as Say The Word - I'll Be There and Especially For You. Other high points included Kylie's best Techno moments - Do You Dare and Keep On Pumpin' It Up with Tony King and the Visionmasters. The full version of Finer Feelings remixed by Brothers In Rhythm was included, and the hit Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi gets a complete makeover!

More highlights included the extended megamix which included six of Kylie's biggest PWL hits jam-packed into a six minutes. This megamix included Turn It Into Love, which was a big #1 in Japan. Getting Closer is also very rare so to have it on this remix collection was a real treat! There is also a slightly different version of I'm Over Dreaming (Over You) that appears on this remix set for the first time. This song was originally found on Kylie's second album Enjoy Yourself. Bare in mind this collection also includes two different versions of Got To Be Certain too - an Extended Version and a Karaoke Version! (Out For A Duck, Bill, Platter Plus Dub Mix)

I'd recommend this fabulous collection of remixes to anyone who likes Kylie's earlier music, to anyone who likes remixes or to anyone who would like a decent remix set in their CD collection. I would also recommend that you pick up Volumes one, three and four too, and buy other remix albums by the likes of Mariah Carey, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

6 Give me just a little more time - 12" Version(4.34)Great song to sing, dance and listen to.Brings back loads of memories aswell.
This song isn't included on Volumes 1,3&4-5/5

7 Do you dare? - NRG Mix(7.03)Great song and great remix. It's Like an extended mix of the song. For those of you who don't like dub songs this dosen't have much vocals in it.Very Trancy-5/5

8 Finer Feelings - Brothers in Rhythm 12" Mix(6.50)Incredible words,Great Choir and some really nice piano chords at the end.
Great remix, this song's highest chart position was 11,it deserved more-5/5

9 Closer - The Pleasure Mix(6.48)Incredible remix and really powerful.Great song but the remix stands powerful alone-5/5

10 What Kind Of Fool - No Tech No logical mix(9.54)I like this remix because it's long and the song is my 2nd favourite kylie song(Hand on your heart knocks it out of place)-5/5

11 Got to be certain - Out for a Duck, bill, platter plus dub mix(3.23)Exactly like a Instrumental or Karaoke version.Great because you can scream down the microphone(If you have one)-4.5/5

Overall grade-5/5

Kylie is still THE BEST and this album is highly reccomended.

4 out of 5 stars More of Kylie's remixes (spanning the early 90's)........1998-09-08

KYLIE'S GREATEST REMIX HITS VOL. 2 seeks to "fill in the gaps" left by the first volume, and it succeeds very well. Especially welcome on this volume are remixes from Kylie's "forgotten" second album, ENJOY YOURSELF; the remixes of "Wouldn't Change A Thing" and "Hand On Your Heart" are as good as you'd hope they'd be. The standout remix, of course, is the Mad March Hare version of "Better The Devil You Know," which is a much better remix of this classic than the so-called "U.S. Version" that's found on the earlier KYLIE'S REMIXES (from 1993). As with the first volume, discerning Kylie collectors should be aware that some of the tracks on the new REMIX HITS were previously released on KYLIE'S REMIXES. But the new version of "Better The Devil You Know" is, all by itself, plenty of reason to spend the money on this new compilition. Also take note of a very different version of "The Loco-Motion", the "Kylie's Smiley Mix" (which squeezes the highlights of her first album into a seven-minute link), the B-track "Getting Closer" (no relation to the later song CLOSER), and another B-track, "Say The Word--I'll Be There." Kylie's moved a long way from the music of her youth, and most of her fans are (overly?) glad of the change, but if you still remember how to smile, by all means spend the money on GREATEST REMIX HITS, VOL. 2.

5 out of 5 stars The early hits.......2004-09-18

Give me just a little more time and Celebration (Kool and the gang) provide further evidence of Kylie's ability to revive oldies and take them high up the charts.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie versions 1.0-4.0.......2003-04-10

It's strange to think that Kylie Minogue after starting out as the "I Should Be So Lucky" teen queen, has grown into the "Feel The Fever" popp icon. It all began in 1987 when a then unknown Kylie meent up a Mike Stock and Pete Waterman to record in an afternoon one of the most memorable Dance-pop songs in music history "I Should Be So Lucky". After the success of "Lucky", Kylie went to work on her debut record simply called KYLIE. the result would be a huge album and a critical loathing of the star. In 1989, Kylie would bring her sophomore effort ENJOY YOURSELF. With the lead single the magical "Hand On Your Heart", ENJOY YOURSELF would duplicate the mega-success of 1988's KYLIE. In 1990, Kylie took a turn into more Dance and less Fluff. With 1990's RHYTHM OF LOVE, Kylie grew started to grow into the woman today. "Better The Devil You Know" and "What Do I Have To Do" both represent this shift. RHYTHM OF LOVE didn't sell as well and KYLIE or ENJOY YOURSELF, but it showed growth. Kylie's final PWL album 1991's LET'S GET TO IT, wouls show Kylie changign again "Word Is Out" experiments with souls and funk, and "If You Were With Me Now" with Keith Washington shows Kylie can tackle not only Dance but ballads as well. Kylie left shortly after this album for the trendy Dance label, DeConstruction. This Collection is a reminder of What made Kylie a star.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie - the Stock Aitken Waterman Years........2003-02-04

As the liner notes state, Kylie Minogue was written off by many critics as a manufactured "flash-in-the-pan" pop star whose fame wouldn't last much longer than 15 minutes. To this day, I remember the 1989 Rolling Stone critics poll which named Kylie the worst female singer of 1988. Even her producers, Stock Aitken Waterman, took blows from naysayers who found their music too formulaic and canned. Yet, in spite of the above, Minogue remains one of the most resilient and successful female perfromers in the last 20 years. Who cares if she's not the world's best singer? If we judged performers based on singing alone, then Celine's last album is a masterpiece. But I digress. "Greatest Hits" is a retrospective that compiles all of Kylie's singles from 1988-92, along with a bonus disc of remixes. Considering the countless other hits compilations that are already out there, should fans still bother with this one? The answer is "yes." The digital remastering gives these songs a welcome sonic upgrade and they sound way superior to the original recordings. "I Should Be So Lucky," "Got to Be Certain," and "Better the Devil You Know" are all frothy but straight-up infectious bits of neo-disco that were huge hits in the UK back in the day. Her covers, on the other hand, are pretty much hit-and-miss. I liked her cover of "Give Me Just a Little More Time," but her versions of "Celebration" and "Tears on My Pillow" still make me cringe. In my mind, nobody can top the original "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. Also, the disc of remixes are pretty good, with highlights including the extended version of "I Should Be So Lucky," a nifty remix of "Wouldn't Change a Thing" and a 2002 house remix of her No. 1 "Hand on Your Heart." "Greatest Hits" is a smart introduction to listeners who aren't familiar with Kylie's earlier work beyond "The Loco-Motion," and older fans should get it for the remastering and the second disc of remixes.

4 out of 5 stars The years go by.......2003-01-07

This is the Kylie that we bopped to, laughed to, developed our gay sensibility to and endeared her to her fans. This CD is the playlist of any pop Australian Radio Station in the 80s and early 90s (as well as the UK). Some of the tracks are twee (Tears on My Pillow), some are 100% pure pop magic (Hand on My Heart) whilst some are embedded in the gay psyche forever as Mardi Gras and dance floor classics (Better the Devil You Know).

All in all a great retrospective for those who have followed her career for ages and a great recap for those new fans who found Light Years and Fever. Shame about PWLs [...] marketing tactics and the [...] cover. This CD is available in a 1992 original version without the remixes in Australia. Unless you want the remixes buy that version. For those new Kylie fans who want the interceding years filled between her PWL hits and her Light Year CD look for Hits+. It contains the sublime Some Kind of Bliss and some amazing rare hits.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie's early htis......all you could ask for............2003-01-06

While this CD set only covers the early PWL era of Kylie's career from 87-92, all the singles are beautifully remastered and sound great. The first disc includes most of Kylie's hits (excluding 'It's No Secret', which is a great song) from the era, and all the single versions for certain songs are included (Finer Feelings, Locomotion, What Do I Have To Do). The 2nd disc includes many of the best PWL remixes, including the Summer Breeze mix for 'Word Is Out' and Movers and Shakers mixes for 'Better The Devil You Know' and 'What Do I have To Do'.....and while Kylie was very opposed to this release, it is a lot better than the version that was released in 1992, plus, as I said before, all the songs are remastered and sound EXCELLENT.

The only downside....the horribly tacky cover....it would have been nice to have a cover including Kylie's face!

5 out of 5 stars Great Artist.......2003-02-10

Ok I know youa re thinking should i buy these two cds for 28 bucks. Well think of it as fourteen bucks a cd which is normal price. I always knew Kylie was an international star but never knew why casue i just knew the locomotion. Then on a trip to europe I was introduced to more of her songs like the hit Spinning Around. Now she is back here in the states and I loved her album Fever. So I said you know what, i might really like this girl. So in a record store i bumped into this album which has her greatest hits of the late eighties and early ninties. I was not disappointed at all. I mean can we say madonna, rick ashley, paula abdul all in one artist. The songs are great pop dance songs. Where was this girl in the states. How could we reject her. And then the other cd has 50 non stop songs of hers and a bonus track. That way you get a little peek at other songs you might like. If you are looking for her late nineties stuff this is not the album for you. It is strictly late eighties and early ninties hits. Excellent Compilation.

5 out of 5 stars Kylie's SAW Years.......2002-06-28

This greatest hits set encapsulates Minogue's early hits with Stock/Aitken/Waterman, starting way back when with the now-classic 'I Should Be So Lucky' up through her final record with them, a remake of 'Celebration'(though S/A/W were red-hot in the late '80s, there best work was undoubtedly with Minogue). In between, we get some of Minogue's finest singles, chief among them 'Hand On Your Heart','Better The Devil You Know', 'What Do I Have To Do', and 'Step Back In Time'. As with any artist, we also get some less-than-thrilling moments, those here being 'Tears On My Pillow'(one of her worst records ever) and 'Especially For You'(her sappy duet with "Neighbours" costar Jason Donovan). Still, those two are just small ripples in what is overall a first-rate collection. Those just discovering or rediscovering Kylie should definately check this one out.

5 out of 5 stars Kommence your Kylie Kollection here..........2002-03-24

Now that Kylie has kracked the US, we Yanks have a lot of katching up to do. Jump start your Kylie krash kourse with this album which kollects 50 of her foundational hits. You don't get the wealth of wonderful mixes but you kan find those later once you've learned the basics and found your own favorites.

Kylie has not sold 30 million CDs and outsold Madonna konsistantly in the British Isles just because little girls and ...boys like her. She's done it because she amazingly sells CDs across all demographics. In her British koncerts, this fan range and follower scope is evident...Katch this girl, she will out-legend Elvis and Edith Piaf. Mark my words.

3 out of 5 stars Not sure what to make of it.......2002-02-27

First CD is awesome, all the songs I remember from Kylie. But the second disc is odd.. it has partial songs.. never heard an album like that before. And the liner looks "photo-copied" like the company distributing it is making it in their garage..

5 out of 5 stars Finally........2002-02-14

Back when these songs first came out I was a huge fan. Goodness, it seems like so long ago since I use to watch the Loca-Motion video on TV. After a while I tryed to find the CD, but I never could remeber the artist's name. Then I was watching VH1's Where Are they Now? program and they showed Kylie, and the videos I use to watch so much. I immediately tried to find her CD, but to no avail. Then I was watching the new video "Can't Get You Out of My Head" on MTV and thought, "Who the heck is that?". Then when I realized it was Kylie I couldn't beleive it. What a change! So I tried to find her original songs again and came across this box set. Her Loca-Motion days may be behind her, but these songs bring back some great memories. Shame she had to have a hit again for all her old stuff to be re-issued, but I'm not complaining at all. This is a great set.

4 out of 5 stars I Guess I Like It Like That.......2006-04-25

For all kylie fans, get this album as well as the other remixed albums. my favorite tracks include the mixes of Keep On Pumpin It Up (this mix should be titled I Guess I Like It Like That), Finer Feelings (the classic Brothers In Rhythm mix), Do You Dare, I Should Be So Lucky, and the list goes on. The album also included Made In Heaven (nice song), We Know The Meaning Of Love (one of my favorites), Word Is Out, etc. just a pretty damn good cd.

5 out of 5 stars A great buy if you like Kylie's earlier hits!!.......2005-05-28

This is Kylie's first volume of the highly popular Greatest Remix Hits series. They are definately all worth buying, especially if you are a fan of Kylie and her earlier hits, like me. The remixes span a four-year period of her most popular hits from her Stock, Aitken, Waterman career, now down to a duo with the exit of Aitken. This CD is also a treat, as it is very rare these days.

You can enjoy remixes of earlier hits such as I Should Be So Lucky, Got To Be Certain, The Loco-motion, Hand On Your Heart, Word Is Out, Shocked, Step Back In Time, Celebration and many more. Not only does this include remixes of hits, it also includes extended versions of several album tracks, one that is notable is the great remix for It's No Secret, only a hit in Japan.

Overall, this album is a great one, and when you put all of the tracks together, it makes a great party album! Two of the high points for me on here are the Brothers In Rhythm 7" Mix of Finer Feelings, which is the infamous, popular remixed version. This is clearly a classic from this brilliant remix album. The other is a remix of Keep On Pumpin' It Up, with Tony King and The Visionmasters, this song was originally from the album Let's Get To It (1991) with the name of I Guess I Like It Like That. This dance track is the perfect companion to Do You Dare, the other techno/dance track from this album.

Another notable remix from this album is the Have A Party Remix of Celebration, which ends the album and Kylie's PWL Era nicely. So overall this album is a great one. Also pick up Volumes two, three and four, as they are also excellent and worth buying for any Kylie Minogue fan. With remixes from I Should Be So Lucky, including most of the hits right down to Celebration, this is a must-have!! Kylie Minogue: Get Well Soon.

5 out of 5 stars Classic gems remixed.......2005-05-09

If you are a diehard fan of Kylie's, I highly recommend picking up this four-CD series of remixes of her early hits. Some of the songs are dated, but they are so much fun, and they will be a treat for those who are fans of the Stock Aitken and Waterman productions and late 80s/early 90s hi-nrg club hits. The series is a bit high in price, but if you like Kylie, these CDs are worth it.

4 out of 5 stars The dance floor goes "OFF" with Kylie's remixes.......2003-09-14

Back in the early 90's Kylie's hits dominated many Dance clubs around Australia - with such remix hits as "Step Back in Time", "What do i have to do", "Shocked", "Do you dare?" and "Keep on Pumpin it up" All can be found on Disk 2. Although Disk 1 is a bit average, Disk 2 more than makes up for it. It brings back great memories of wild nights at "BaseLine" nightclub in Melbourne. So STEP BACK IN TIME and grab this CD, A must for any "real" Kylie Fan.
