2 out of 5 stars If you like disco..........2006-05-27

When I heard that Rampling had some credit in making Voyage into Trance with Oakenfold, I thought cool, let's check out some of his work. So I bought this CD. This is nothing like Voyage into Trance! It has a Latin theme to it but that is not what turned me off. This stuff is border line disco! It is definitely an acquired taste. The combination of mellow beats and soft lyrics definitely doesn't have the energy or the emotions that I would expect from a techno/trance CD. When I think of trance/techno I think of Sasha, Digweed, Oakenfold, and Van Dyk. Anyway this is definitely not my cup of tea. I was bored throughout the discs waiting for something that never came. If I had a choice between Rampling and Morales I would shoot myself before having to listen to this again!

5 out of 5 stars A Tale of Two DJ's.......2000-11-13

While rummaging through the great selection of dance music found at a local Virgin Megastore in my town, I happened to find myself with a copy of "UK/USA: Rampling & Morales" in my hands. Before that day, I had no idea of who Danny Rampling was, seeing that British DJ's are not really big here in the United States. The only thing that made me hold on to this CD was the fact that Dave Morales was featured on Disc 2, however I decided to purchase it to explore Rampling's works more.

All I can say was that I made an excellent choice. British-Born Rampling and Puerto Rican DJ Morales make the perfect foreign collaboration in dance music in years. Rampling who has a knack of remixing both English and foreign language tracks into a perfect bliss of harmony and beats will blow you away with the great selection of music he spotlights on this album. Special attention should be paid to his remixes of Giorgio's "From Here to Eternity," Basement Jaxx's "Bingo Bango," and ATFC's "Bad Habit". All three of them will demonstrate Rampling's incredible talent.

Disc Two features Dave Morales and some of his best work in recent years (this album was released in 2000, therefore it covers about the last three years). Morales who happens to be one of the best DJs in the world includes some of his best works including his popular remix of Madison Avenue's "Don't Call Me Baby" (Madison Babes from Outta Space Remix) which is one of the most popular remixes nowadays in the U.S. His remixes of "Reach" by Kenny Bobien, Benji Candelario's "Learn to Give" are also mesmerizing and surely will get you in the mood to dance.

Although it is a bit costly because it is an import from England, "UK/USA: Rampling & Morales" has to be one of the best dance compilations to come out in 2000. I can guarantee it is worth every cent of what you will pay/paid for it. I only wish such compilations were made much more available here in the United States like they are overseas.

5 out of 5 stars Rampling on.......2000-09-21

This Danny Rampling composition is intelligent and catchy, almost witty. The old master is back at his best with reverse drum beats, fading, dubbing, you name it, the kitchen sink. Age has not blurred any creativity. This album has that little bit of extra sparkle and creativity lacking in many recent DJ compositions. Goodness me, I feel like its 1992 again! Time to get down and boogie yer all.
