Product Description
16-track definitive anthology. SM&C0. 2003.
Anita Ward has a beautiful voice, a soaring soprano, that is delicate and soulful at the same time. Most of her material is well written and arranged, and still sounds fresh decades after it was recorded.
"Don't Drop My Love", "Cover Me" and "Can't Nobody Love Me Like You Do" are great dance songs that equal or surpass "Ring My Bell" without copying it. Anita Ward is equally adept with a bittersweet ballad, and she shines on "You Lied", "I Won't Stop Loving You" and "If I Could Feel That Old Feeling Again".
The sound quality of the CD is quite good, and there is a consistency of performance and production that make this an enjoyable listen from start to finish.

Album Description
16-track definitive anthology. SM&C0. 2003.Album Details
Written and Produced by Frederick Knight, Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell" was One of the Most Distinctive Disco Sounds of 1979 (And One of the First Records to Feature a Synth Drum), Played in Clubs around the World Throughout that Summer and Becoming an International Smash Hit. Ironically it Had Been Recorded as a Last-minute Filler for an Album of Considerably Different Sounding Mid-tempo Songs and Ballads and So, at the Time, Anita's Turn in the Spotlight More Or Less Began and Ended with that One Hit. In Retrospect, it is Perhaps Fortunate that the 15 Other Pleasing Southern Soul Recordings on this Compilation Are of Varied Moods and Tempos, Displaying a Broader Aspect of Ms Ward's Singing Talent.Customer Reviews:
