5 out of 5 stars Om's Best................. Hands Down!!!!!.......2005-11-03

This is the type of album you must have if you plan to score some sensual sex. This album is full of deep trance/electronica instrumentals that really sets the mood. I was first aware of J. Boogie on Om Lounge 3 withe the song Le Sengre. While at the record store browsing through the electronica section, came across the album, and listened to the 1st 5 tracks, and copped that ish, FO REAL!!!!!! The cd starts off with "Universal Dub" which is ideal for any smoker. It sets the mood. Next track "Do what U Luv" is simply a banga!! I love the congos and the sitar in this track. The instrumentation is simply mind blowing. When you get to track #3 "Try Me" featuring ol' fine @$$ Goapele, you instantly fall in love with the LP. The album feel is jazzy-soul-funky electronica, and if this is your thing, by all means,

COP DIS ALBUM, BUY IT RIGHT AWAY

2 out of 5 stars JB...too eclectic for his own good.......2004-06-18

I purchased this album some time ago with the idea that it would be as enjoyable as the compilations that showcased his great talent and turntable skills. This album is good in broken pieces, but put together it just lacks a flow to really enjoy. Let me explain because this is the problem with a lot of artist in this genre. When it come to pop music...Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, or Jay-Z, an album does not necessary need a "flow in order" style to keep the listener in tune with the music. The lyrics and tempo dictate that. But for music that is based on just beats and mood...the artist needs to have a theme, a flow that a listener can keep in tune with without having to change so drastic or abruptly. That is the problem with this album. JB has a lot of good cuts on this release but they do not flow together smoothly. The album starts out beautifully with "Universal Dub", which I could replay over and over again...and then follows with three other good cuts to "Deep In The Cut". Yet after that the album goes south, and you are left with saying..."what the FU&% is this". Granted JB does come back here and there with classics from the Om Lounge comp. but you have already heard them before. Nothing new. In short, I like JB...a lot, better in concert. And maybe that is how an album should flow..."in concert style", so the listener can truly enjoy from start to finish. One love.

5 out of 5 stars Yummy Grooves.......2004-04-10

All really good, and flow well into one another. The PUTS song and Rainfall are my favs, when I played it in my car, my passengers were groovin' and all asked who I was playing. Not a fan of the "Natural Woman" track - but the rest: A+

5 out of 5 stars Back on my review.......2003-11-02

After my first review and the comment of another user about it i wanted to clarify the situation. Well, yes my friend you're right only 5 songs were released before ( by the way, i'm very well informed because i have almost all the om releases )wich is not so bad in a 17 track cd. Anyways, what i wanted to say is that i had higher expectations because i knew my favorites songs from the om series. Well, i can say that after my first review i listen to this cd more than 100 times and it's on my top 5 of the year far from some masters as Thievery Corporation. So, back on my review my apologies if it wasn't clear and i have to admit that this cd deserves my first 5 stars.

5 out of 5 stars J Boogie - a master of Global Sound Fusion........2003-07-22

This album is a wonderful blend of different sounds that is known today as 'world fusion'. I recommend this for anyone who is interested in gaining an appreciation and sensibility for cross-mixing soul, funk, afro/latin beats, and hip hop with wonderful deep sounds of dub.

I would also like to comment on the review that was written here earlier, stating that this material is not new. I would suggest that this person should do his/her research before writing such a review. In fact, most of this material has been previously unreleased and unavailable. There are only 3 or 4 tracks which come from the Om compilations, and even these tracks have been re-worked.

5 out of 5 stars It's just that good.......2006-12-26

I could attempt to explain to you why, exactly, this CD is good--write about the effortless blending of genres, the wealth of lyrical and instrumental talent brought to bear on the project, the amazing emotional vibe that the album puts out, or the masterful craftsmanship with which the DJ wields all of the above.

Or I could just say that you should buy this damn CD...right now. I know it's the easy way out, and far from being a thorough review, but it's the best I can come up with. Buy this CD. I promise that you'll be very happy with it.

5 out of 5 stars I just keep going back to it!.......2005-08-14

In case you don't know, I love music and spend a rather sizeable amount of my disposable income on CD's and concerts. Having said that, J Boogie's Dubtronic Science is in heavy rotation at my home and has been since I purchased it last year. This album has taken all of my favorite genres of music and fused them so seamlessly that all I can do when it's playing is just vibe and try not to dance too much. J Boogie incorporates jazz, real hip-hop, dub beats, and neo-soul while never losing the album's chill feel. He also has a lot of independent artists that I love on it, such as Martin Luther, Goapele, Zion I, Talib Kweli, and others. If you appreciate music like this, please buy this CD. I promise you won't be dissapointed, I haven't been.

5 out of 5 stars listen to the dj DAMMIT!.......2004-11-18

I was at a record shop website. SOmething in San Francisco and saw a link for this album. Now... a record store sells vinyl. But, they are also the best people to listen to. Music afficionados. They weren't advertising any other CDs on the frontpage to their website: JUST THIS ONE.

... and now I know why. This is a great mix. What's on it. Who cares... if you want good music then buy this, listen to it, and then tell your friends to buy it. Buy it for all your friends and family this holiday... or next holiday.

Its funk, its dub, its raw hip hop and danceable grooves. Fun for anyone who digs house, trip hop, downtempo grooves, rap, raggae or world music. This is my number one BEST BUY for 2004.
