Foretold in the Language of Dreams [Import]

Editorial Reviews

Product Description
After her stint with Transglobal Underground and three ground-breaking solo albums of dynamic Arabian-inflected dance music and chansons, our favourite diva Natacha Atlas invites us on a journey of spiritual discovery. Despite the usual overall "Oriental" feel of the CD, 'Foretold in the Language of Dreams' includes collaborations with a string of exciting musicians with whom she has never worked previously - Andrew Cronshaw on zither (apparently in himself a source of inspiration to Atlas), Syrian qanun player Abdullah Chhadeh, and most satisfyingly, two tracks with the Greek band Avaton. Despite the liner notes claims of "computer malarkey" being employed, the overall sound is acoustic, a stark contrast to her previous work. Mantra.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Deep...Very Deep.......2005-10-26

Foretold in the Language of Dreams is one of the best albums out there. It is Natacha's best album next to Something Dangerous, and is VERY relaxing. It is done w/ Marc Eagleton, although it is like he's never there. Natacha is THE best world artist of our time. And with Beledi Roots coming out in 2006, there is so much to look foward to! With the very mellow roots and DEEP lyrical meanings, Foretold in the Language of Dreams is a flashback to the Arabic music w/o all the pop roots. She wants to travel way back. I so reccomend it!

4 out of 5 stars Dreaming With Natacha.......2005-10-20

Ovo je prava eksperimentalna poslastica koja ce vas uvesti u svet arapskog misticizma i ezoterije. Posebno obratite paznju na pesmu Yeranos.
Album uz koji cete sanjati otvorenih ociju.

5 out of 5 stars Love this album!.......2005-08-03

This album is a perfect blend of arabic and "meditative" style music. Natacha Atlas seems to be at home in many genres.

1 out of 5 stars Avoid this PLEASE.......2004-07-29

First off, Natacha is a WONDERFUL artist in every regard. However, I still say avoid this CD.

Yes, this CD is a departure from her more traditionally Arabic themed music. But the collection doesn't work. I'd rather listen to Enigma, Lisa Gerrard, Delerium, etc. for this genre. Natacha doesn't cut it.

Go for Gedida or Something Dangerous...two of her best!

4 out of 5 stars A must for ant fan of Natacha Atlas.......2004-03-19

It's not like previous albums. It is more new age and ambiun. I love it. Natacha has a voice that sounds good doing any kind of music
