5 out of 5 stars ...Love never ends..........2005-07-02

This album is really nice. Every song is worth while listening. Actually to be honest; I bought it for 'Electric Dreams' because of the 12 inch mixes that are bonus here. The original album is just over 30 minutes, so the bonus tracks bring this re-release for over 60 minutes. The remastering is the second reason why I want it. Mine is not copy controlled! ;-) Pretty hard searching ...

5 out of 5 stars FINALLY ON CD.......2004-10-16

The collaboration of Philip Oakey of The Human League and producer Giorgio Moroder is the slicker side of technopop. Moroder gives Oakey a smoother, more dance-oriented sound, and it is a bit different than the HL albums. The first part is a segue-mix of 4 songs [plus an intro] that all share the same beat. If you have heard 'Goodbye Bad Times' you pretty much know what the rest of the album sounds like. The classic 'Electric Dreams' is really the best song on the album. The other songs are a bit 'words over dance beat' compositions, but still good. It is one of my favorite albums, and really the best album work of Oakey other than 'Dare' with HL. Since it is on CD now, with the 12 inch remixes, by all means but it now, before it goes away!

3 out of 5 stars A Great Remastering.......2003-09-13

Wow. This album isn't as good as Philip Oakey's work as front man for The Human League, but this release blows the original's release away. The cover art is totally redone (beautiful). The songs are louder & clearer with some really great remixes added. The only real dud song on this one is "Be My Lover Now", which was a single, but always seemed VERY cheesy to me (even for The Human League).

4 out of 5 stars Synthpop must-have fron the 80's.......2001-03-03

*Update* This CD has finally been released on CD, just search for Philip Oakey and you will find it! -

This album has never seen CD, and it seems to be lost in Virgin Records neverland, where some great stuff never returns :( If you can get ahold of the LP, you will not be disappointed. FYI : Here are the tracks, since you can never seem to see what they are on out-of-print stuff.

    Side1 : [1]. Why Must The Show Go On --- [2]. In Transit [intro] --- [3]. Good-Bye Bad Times --- [4]. Brand New Love (Take A Chance) --- [5]. Valerie

Side 2: [1]. Now --- [2]. Together In Electric Dreams --- [3]. Be My Lover Now --- [4]. Shake It Up 1984/1985 Virgin Records US: Dist. thru A&M Records

3 out of 5 stars Oakey & Moroder: Two geniuses with a minor hang-over!.......2000-07-13

I am a huge fan of Philip Oakey. Nevertheless, his "work" on this collaboration with Giorgio Moroder leaves a bit to be desired. "Now", "Together in Electric Dreams", "Be My Lover Now" & "Why Must The Show Go On" all have that Oakey/Human League stamp of approval (great melodies, cathy rhythms & a message somewhere beneath the beat) but the rest of the album feels like a bunch of mindless filler. I have this album on vinyl and hope to purchase it on cd when it becomes available. The album's first single "Goodbye Bad Times" is a somewhat odd potential pop-hit that never quite went anywhere in the US (apparently it did elsewhere; notably, in Australia).

Anyway, if you like the Human League & are curious, PLEASE purchase this album. It is a definite necessity in anyone's Human Lague collection but not a fair representation of eitheir artists' abilities.
