The opening track of the album by Darling Violetta, is absolutely fantastic. Having all the Buffy albums and knowing how thought provoking the music is from that show, I did expect more from the Angel album. But it's still good music and any fan would be happy to say they have it.

One of my favorite is season 5 episode 6 "The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco " I wish this compilation include the guitar solo section. I am completely opposite to the one of the reviewer. I love the music part only. I find it inspiring. There's some Hans Zimmer style in it. I really dig it...quiet yet powerful. However, it start to become a little too formulated. Too much of the same thing is definitely not a good thing. Ahhh, classic tragic hero stories. I can't resist.

A Ray of Light on a cloudy day.......2005-07-03

This Touched By An Angel (TBAA) soundtrack is ab-soul-utely amazing. Combining the essence of music with the words of God, each song is delightfully pleasant and warming to the ears. It is a magnificent album, and songs from Wynonna Judd and Della Reese will just blow you away. I find the show very touching and comforting, and this music compliments that show. It is a touching cross between Dido and Richard Clayderman, and a must-have for anybody and everybody of all ages.

Great Album.......2005-03-08

I personally loved this album and it's helped me through some tough times as a teenager. One of my best friends commited suicide and no lie this c-d really did help me get through some of the things that I was going through it was very uplifting and very spiritual and I needed that at that point in time. The message in all of the songs is very well thought out and not just that but the songs are very catchy and addicting. Especially "Testify to love" which was sung by Wynonna in the 100th episode of Touched by An Angel. I'm still not which one was better this great song or that great episode. If you love the show buy this c-d and if you love this c-d watch the show.

This is a great CD, and let me just say that I bought it for the Della Reese track alone. I love her singing, and I love her portryal of Tess on the show. She's an angel you don't want to mess with! I like Celine's track too. A very uplifting CD to listen to on those "down" days, especially when you're a burned out college student wondering if there is any hope for you ; )

Can you think of a line that describes the emotional microcosm of a fan better than the initial words of Terror Train, one of the most impressive tracks on the new Demons & Wizards album, Touched By The Crimson King? "I´m awake, you better feed me now", sings vocalist Hansi Kürsch, hitting the nail on the head. Mind you, the international metal community has been wide awake ever since the self-titled Demons & Wizards debut arrived at the stores in 2000, waiting impatiently to be fed with more songs. The fact that they had to wait another five years is in the nature of things; after all, Hansi Kürsch's chief occupation is his band, Blind Guardian, while guitarist Jon Schaffer has launched several major projects with his main group, Iced Earth.

One the one hand, Touched By The Crimson King continues the artistic tradition of its two protagonists, Kürsch and Schaffer, and on the other it seems directly connected to the Demons & Wizards debut. "The common denominator that links the two albums lies in the fact that the tracks are constructed in a simpler style than the regular Blind Guardian and Iced Earth material", Kürsch describes of his new album. "At the same time, the music has more of an acoustic focus. You can tell that we approached the song-writing without any preconceptions. The term `mellow' springs to mind whenever somebody asks me to describe the mood on the album. Even when the Demons & Wizards debut came out, fans told us that the music is a symbiosis of its two creative forces. Some even said that parts of it sounded like early Blind Guardian and early Iced Earth. I think this description also applies to Touched By The Crimson King. The overall impression of the album is marked by a certain rawness, together with many atmospheric moods."

A long time coming.......2007-06-12

After what seemed like an incredibly long wait, Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kurisch and Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer finally unleashed another Demons & Wizards album in 2005.Was it worth the wait, and did it live up to the standard set by the duo's incredible self-titled album? Read on...

Demons & Wizards has always represented the best elements of both Iced Earth and Blind Guardian, bringing together the blazing guitar riffs of the former and the fantasy elements and signature vocal style of the latter. At the same time, the songwriting excesses that both Schaffer and Kurisch indulge in with their respective bands are held in check here. To be sure, the songs on this album have that epic power metal quality, but they all clock in around 4-5 minutes. Schaffer's riffs are incredible as always, and Kurisch's vocals are amazing as well. When you add the heavy emphasis on fantasy fiction (Stephen King's Dark Tower saga is a central theme), the result is an album that sounds like a cross between early (translation: good) Metallica and Uriah Heep. The "proper" album closes with a powerful rendition of Led Zeppelin's classic metal anthem "Immigrants Song", which is worth the price of admission all by itself. These guys were born to cover this song!

On some levels, Touched by the Crimson King doesn't quite live up to expectations, but I think that's perfectly reasonable given the 5 year wait since the first Demons & Wizards album was released. First impressions count for a lot, and at first glance Touched by the Crimson King doesn't have the same immediate impact that the first Demons & Wizards album did. It's the kind of album that takes a few spins to really sink in, at which point you'll realize that Touched by the Crimson King is another high quality power metal album from a pair of extremely talented musicians who work very well together.

NOTE: The Special Edition version of Touched by the Crimson King features four bonus tracks. The alternate versions of Wicked Witch and Beneath the Waves don't really add much, but the songs Lunar Lament and Spatial Architects are as good as any other song on the album, and are well worth checking out.

The long-awaited release of Demons and Wizards second album was worth the wait. This concept/theme album titled 'Touched by the Crimson King' is a fun power metal feast for the ears. Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth and Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian have joined forces once again to create music fitting for fans of both bands.

The opener, 'Crimson King' is a fantastic track that features heavenly vocals from Kürsch. Schaffer's riffs sound right out of an Iced Earth album. 'Seize the Day' is a track that could have been featured on Iced Earths, 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' album. This soft ballad is beautiful and emotional. Lunar Lament is a fast-paced rocker with fun riffs and a fun chorus. This song, plus the slow version of Wicked Witch, Spatial Architects, and Beneath These Waves were featured on the Limited Edition Digi-Pak release which I have.

Schaffer has had a long and storied career with Iced Earth, and his vision for Demons and Wizards have now successfully released two albums. In my opinion, the cover song, 'Immigrant Song' should have been left off, but the bonus tracks are great. I am awaiting Blind Guardian's new album due out in the Fall of 2006. Fans of Iced Earth, Blind Guardian and power metal in general should enjoy the music presented by the ever dedicated Jon Schaffer and Hansi Kürsch.

Timeless Mysteries.......2006-07-13

Enigmatic and alluring, this is a masterpiece of metal. With epic songs of imagination and emotion, this album has quickly shot up my personal charts, especially in combination with their self-titled first release. Hansi's haunting lyrical style is a perfect fit for the spectacular guitar work of Jon Schaffer. The music as a whole embodies the latest evolution of metal, by far the most superior style of music the human race has created.

YES........2006-07-02

the second Demons & Wizards album was a long time coming, and it rocks. The blistering chugging crunch of Schaffer's guitar and the best voice in metal, Hansi Kursch, were meant to be together. When "Crimson King" starts up, with its definitive gallop, choral exclamations, and Bobby Jarzombek's assaultive double-bass blasting, hang on to your azz otherwise it will be kicked into space. Hansi's vocals build and build until the huge multi-tracked chorus, which spirals down into a slow, grinding chug -- then an echoic acoustic passage that brings to song full circle, returning to the opening theme but with the intensity cranked as Hansi's voice starts to shatter glass with his blood-chilling screams. A brilliant opening track, worthy of the masterful "Heaven Denies" from the first album. And from there the quality is outstanding, combining muscular riffage and outstanding vocals, with high-flying drama and an ear for arrangement that works like magic. "Beneath these Waves" is a vengeful, determined mid-tempo cruncher, followed by the the non-stop muted gallop of "Terror Train". "Wicked Witch" is a gorgeous ballad with acoustic guitar, cello, and piano and elaborate vocal arrangements. "Down Where I Am" is this album's "Fiddler on the Green", where Schaffer's intuitive choice of chords and Hansi's voice demonstrates amazing power and subtlety. "The Gunslinger" and "Dorian" are mysterious, seething torrents of soaring drama and. "Love's Tragedy Asunder" is a classic metal soft-hard power ballad, and "Seize the Day" breaks the album's otherwise imprisoned, oppressed feeling with simple but incredibly atmospheric melodies and a grandiose chorus that will make you pick up your sword and staff and go on a journey into nowhere. This second Demons & Wizards has been almost universally hailed as inferior to the first -- but give it a chance... I think it is just as good for sure, and both of them together make for some of the best metal out there.

Elvis At His Best.......2006-08-12

I am a huge fan of Elvis Presley, as a singer, actor, and man. Some believe that in 1954 Elvis recorded the first rock song with his debut single "That's All Right". Whether or not he invented rock and roll is up for debate- facts support that Fats Domino as well as Bill Haley & His Comets were recording before Elvis graduated from high school- but it can not be debated that he was the one who brought rock into virtually every home in America. As a result of his fiery performances, some critics called Elvis the devil and rock & roll was deemed the devil's music.

So, in 1957 Elvis cut 4 gospel songs and put them on the EP Peace In The Valley. Elvis would record the gospel albums His In Mine in 1960 and How Great Thou Art in 1966. He won a Grammy for the latter. In 1972, Elvis released his third gospel album, which is why I am writing this review.

This album truly has something for everybody, whether they are Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, or even atheists. All you have to do is listen to the beautiful vocal performances by Elvis and the wonderful musical backing to appreciate this music. Every track on here has something to offer.

He Touched Me- A beautiful song written by Bill Gaither. You can tell that Elvis believes every word he is singing, especially at the almost operatic ending.

I've Got Confidence- A great rocker. This may be one of the first Christian rock songs. It's all about having faith in God, and contains the classic lyric "Job said honey, that's all right."

Amazing Grace- Maybe the finest song ever written. It is given a blues-soul makeover with the addition of the updated piano intro and the vocals of the Sweet Inspirations, who originally were the background vocalists for Aretha Franklin.

Seeing Is Believing- Another great rocker. This one is about knowing that God is real by seeing the beautiful world he made. This song also has probably the best guitar solo ever to be featured in a religious song.

He Is My Everything- Musically this song is a re-write of the country classic There Goes My Everything (which Elvis also recorded). In fact, the chorus is the same except that "There goes" has been changed to "He is". Nevertheless, this is a great song of worship, given a great performance.

Bosom Of Abraham- A great spiritual with a rockin' beat. The highlight of the song is when Elvis and J.D. Sumner are both singing the bass part and are trying to beat each other by going lower.

An Evening Prayer- A beautiful track featuring Elvis at the piano and featuring one of his best vocal performances anywhere. The best song on the album.

Lead Me, Guide Me- This is a great song performed very much in the style of an old-fashioned hymn. Elvis and the Stamps Quartet once again display great vocals.

There Is No God But God- This is an odd track musically. It sounds like Frank Sinatra being backed up by the Beatles. This is what you get when you cross standards, rock, and gospel. Great stuff, though.

A Thing Called Love- A great song that had previously been recorded by Johnny Cash. Elvis puts his own arrangment on it, adding background vocalists and horns.

I, John- Another rockin' spirtual, this one deals with the Book of Revalations. Once again highlighted by the bass vocals of J.D. Sumner.

Reach Out To Jesus- One of my favorites from the album and a perfect closer. This song is worth the price of the disc. You have to hear the note Elvis hits near the end.

Elvis won a Grammy for this album. It is by far Elvis' best gospel album, and is one of his top five albums in any genre. This is great music for anyone, religious or not. Do yourself a favor and order it now.

This was Elvis Presley's third, and last, gospel album. It is not as good as the previous two, but is still excellent. Gospel music was Elvis' favorite kind of music, and he always put his heart into a gospel song. This album features a satisfying mix of old and new, black and white, gospel music. The only complaint I have is that at 30 minutes, this CD is too short. There were two other gospel songs, "Miracle of the Rosary" and "Put Your Hand in the Hand", recorded at these sessions, and it would have been nice if they had been included as bonus tracks. Still, a great CD.

Elvis at his best!.......2005-10-17

Elvis really shines when singing gospel music, and this album is no exception. He sings the songs with passion & depth. It is evident that he has love for God. I recommend his other gospel albums as well.

Offbeat , but beautiful..........2004-12-15

I bought this CD last year, when the show was still on the air. It took me a while, not being used to blues and so on for Christmas songs, but this year it hit me! Especially haunting is "Breath of Heaven", by Joan Baez - listen to it and you'll know how moving it can be.

This is an album which has unique Christmas songs you might not hear anywhere else, but more importantly, it is an album which has meaning and which can be listened to all year 'round. It has depth and can be felt peronally, something lacking in so much music today. It is at the top of my list for all CD's I enjoy.

This is a great CD. Any listener should not limit it to airplay in November and December. With the exception of a few tracks, this is more of a spiritual rather than a purely holiday album. Among its srongest songs is Wayne Watson's "In Such a Time as This" and Della Reese singing "If I Can Dream." Any fan of spiritual music and the tv show will love this!

I absolutely love this album. I'm not particularly fond of Elvis' music but there is something about the emotion and love he obviously puts into these songs that's tangible and touching. I highly recommend this album to his fans and those that aren't fans but may need a spirtual lift and a blessing.

The Gospel Music of Elvis.......2006-06-19

The deep faith that Elvis had spills over into all his music, but these songs can inspire and uplift one even in darkest moments. I use them in my meditation. The two discs are basically an anthology of all the gospel he sang over the years. Disc two has some of the most touching music and powerful therapy you will find anywhere. I play it for my mother who has Alzheimer's. It motivates and yet calms her.

Essential Elvis Gospel.......2005-05-13

This is truly a superior Elvis Gospel Anthology. Everything you could want is here on two discs. But what sets it apart is on Disc 2. Tracks 5-9 are recordings of Elvis around the piano with, probably, the Stamps, casually singing gospel as he was so fond of doing after shows late into the wee hours of the morning. It is breathtaking. For true Elvis fans, or fans of great Southern Gospel, this is a must have for your collection.

Let's just say that this CD sounds like a complete rush job. It seems like George just grabbed a bunch of random dirty records and made an album. Despite little bit of static, there is some good high energy Epic Trance that will get you pumping, especially on disc 2. A few tracks did sound a little cheesy but it wasn't complete euro-trash.

so i borrowed this cd from some guys that are into trance like i am. I was amazed to see that the continuation to Next Level was equally as good if not better. CD1 by far i think is better than 2. One is more melodic, yet not cheezy if you have a good system. I run my material through 1500 Watts of continuous powered speakers, no doubt it picks up everything, even things that werent ment to be there such as the horrible scrathing sound, especially at silent areas where the listener would like to go into the deepest level of trance. UGH, the recorder/editor should have been fired no doubt... as far as the mix, never better!. Its not hard trance, but wow, song number two, (not including the intro as one), is amazing with the synthesizer sounds no doubt, and 8, 9, 10 .. never mind, BUY IT, definitely buy it, its beautiful.

I was fortunate enough to access this CD from a good friend of mine- for free- what a dude!
One thing I can say- even if you have to purchase this CD- do it right now-- Acosta does a great up-lifting session here- with pure erotic trance intermixed wtih harder sounds- The results are fantastic!! I have burned this CD for three friends- all state that it is probably one of the best trance albums out there. In fact, this CD parallels scott stubbs'- trance vertgio.
Have a nice time listening- it's quite an experience.

This is an amazing mix, well worth getting. George Acousta is a tour guide to an audible dimension that blew me away. The energy is fantastic and leaves me feeling energized. TAKE THE JOURNEY AND GET TOUCHED!!!

Trance at its best!.......2004-04-16

I am a new comer to this trance game and I haven't bought many trance C'D's, but this CD is the best amongst the ones I have purchased. The first CD just takes you, It puts you in a state of serinity where you just wanna chill. Its laid back and very smooth. I listen to the CD when I simply want to get away.
The only problem with the CD is the "scratchy" noise in the beggining of some of the songs. It sounds like the engineer didn't do a good job of eliminating this noise. But other than that, this CD is the bomb! A must have.

Surely everyone loves an underdog, but in the world of polka, who doesn't want superstar Jimmy Sturr to win every dang Grammy he can? He's worked with legends, he tours constantly, and his 100 or so albums have spread the gospel of modern polka better than anyone else. Next year, they should just give him a Lifetime Achievement Award.
