Album Description
The Sugababes have achieved so much already, in just a few years: two back-to-back triple-platinum albums (Angels With Dirty Faces and Three), one million singles sold in the UK, three number ones (Freak Like Me, Round Round, Hole In The Head), a Brit Award, a Q Award, a Smash Hits Award and an Elle Style Award. And now comes the best, the most diverse, and the most personal album they have ever made. "Taller In Many Ways" delivers the kind of street-smart, cutting-edge pop songs that have made the Sugababes the most credible of modern pop groups. It also sees the girls expanding their music into new areas, and delving deeper into their own personal lives to create their most mature work to date. This International version features 12-tracks. Sugababes Are Still Keeping It Strong.......2006-04-05
1. "Push The Button" - Months after its assault on charts worldwide, the 'Babes most successful single to date is still extremely light, bubbly, and catchy. Good electro-pop doesn't need to be cold and soulless, as shown by this light number.
2. "Gotta Be You" - Amelle's rough vocals are best suited with rougher tracks like this one. Where Mutya's turn on the original version sounded only half convincing, Amelle's raw voice adds that much-needed oomph and power, making the track even more suiting of the band.
3. "Follow Me Home" - Though Amelle's vocals compliment more uptempo materials, she still manages to shine on this track, turning up the sultriness in her voice. She may not have the same range as Mutya, but she's at least got some heart and soul.
4. "Joy Division" - Same ol' reliable futuristic cyber-ragga/pop track. Shows how Sugababes are still capable of combining great pop melodies with slick, urban-inspired beats 4 albums in.
5. "Red Dress" - Latest single and what a stomper of a tune. Amelle's vocals add even more power and body to the choruses, making the song even more addictive than it already is. Only Sugababes can do rockin' dance/pop track like this.
6. "Ugly" - A surprisingly sincere, good-natured song from Sugababes, yet it isn't totally saccharine: the drum-looped beats in the background save it from becoming too nice and pleasant. It add's contemporary savy and rhythm to the song. Some sassy lines might have helped it from becoming too saintly as well.
7. "It Ain't Easy" - What distinguishes Sugababes from any other girl band at the moment is their ability to make a completely tuneless track like this sound very sexy and slick. Other girl groups struggle to even carry an easy tune, let alone any abstract pop compositions.
8. "Bruised" - Very undermined, yet cool vocal performance from the 'Babes. This track is all about the sly vocals, especially with the harmony in the chorus that can raise chills up someone's spine.
9. "Obsession" - Crass, bombastic, yet still sexy pop track that's somewhat dark and very inviting at the same time. Like "Push The Button," it's production isn't as elaborate as many labored-over pop songs today, yet it's still very durable and catchy.
10. "Ace Reject" - Such an emotional roller coaster and a lovely melody. Mutya's departure only makes listening to this track more of an emotional reminder of the good days of Sugababes V2.
11. "Better" - Bright and uplifting track that might seem too bright and uplifting for Sugababes, but at least it shows how they do have some good intentions in life too.
12. "2 Hearts" - Amazing end to an amazing album. The crashing drums, orchestration, and effortless vocals create a crescendo that's unlike any other in pop music today. Not many pop albums can match an ending to an album like this, or at least it was the original ending in the original release of "Taller In More Ways."
13. "Now You're Gone" - Probably an ode to Mutya (very suggestive with the lyrics), it's not the best Sugababes track, but it's far from being the worst. It's a likeable, if not melancholy and serious-sounding, R&B-lite pop track with some orchestration in the background to make it sound more dramatic. It shows how Sugababes are still capable of writing a solid track even with the lineup changes.
"Taller In More Ways" proves that Sugababes still have what it takes to remain one of the most respected pop acts in Britain today. They definitely earn their cred by consistently coming up with great pop tunes that will entertainin for generations to come. There's no doubt that this re-release of "Taller In More Ways" only shows a hint of what bigger things are set for our favorite trio of femme fatales.

Quite possibly their best yet.......2006-01-29
This album, the last with Mutya, has some of their finest songs to date and some brilliant production and lyrics. At only 11 tracks long (12 if you have the UK bonus track, which I don't), it seems short, but packs a lot into those 11 tracks. My rundown:
01. Push The Button (9/10)
The lead single of the album, this was No.1 in the UK for 3 (I think?) weeks. It's immediately catchy and very easy to sing along to. Keisha leads most of the song, with Mutya and Heidi singing the verses. Fun, upbeat with a saucy video.
02. Gotta Be You (9/10)
Another upbeat song, this is really catchy, with a repetitive chorus that you would expect to get boring, but somehow it doesn't. The first time I played this, I was like 'Boooooring' but now I love it, it's a lot of fun to sing along to. The girls share vocals out throughout the song.
03. Follow Me Home (10/10)
This ballad is reminscient of songs from Three like "Caught In A Moment", "Too Lost In You" and "Sometimes". That, my friends, is a very good thing. This song is beautiful and moving - I absolutely love the chorus, it's amazing! Heidi is absolutely brilliant on the middle 8, and Mutya and Keisha do the remainder of the song well. One of my favourites!
04. Joy Division (9/10)
Another upbeat song, this song is slightly strange with peculiar lyrics music. It's catchy with singable bits throughout. I don't know why it's called "Joy Division," they don't mention those words anywhere in the song. Anyway, a good song, if strange.
05. Red Dress (7/10)
This is the Babes new single and first single with Amelle. I wish it wasn't and that they had chosen something else, this is one of my least favourite tracks on the album. I don't know why, but this song is bland and uninteresting to me. The chorus is slightly catchy though, and Amelle does improve the song somewhat.
06. Ugly (8/10)
This song is probably my other least favourite. The Babes Christmas single, this reached No.3. I loved it on the first listen, but after repeated plays, it has gotten boring. "Ugly" has a brilliant message behind it about accepting people as they are and not judging people by their looks, but to me, it's bland and boring. But it's Mutya's last single with the group, so good on it.
07. It Ain't Easy (9/10)
The shortest track on the album, clocking in at 3:05, this is fast paced and upbeat. The chorus is really catchy, and gets caught in your head instantly. Before you know it, the song is over! But that's a good thing, it keeps your attention with it's short length.
08. Bruised (9/10)
This song is incredibly cool, it's very chilled out and relaxed, until Keisha starts singing the bridge. This song is another catchy one, and I like singing along to the chorus, which Heidi leads. Another very cool track.
09. Obsession (10/10)
I didn't even know this song was a cover until recently. But even if it is, it's brilliant! The lyrics are kinda random, about being obsessed with somebody, but the girls' vocals are really cool. Very catchy with great music.
10. Ace Reject (10/10)
This song is wonderful! Heidi's middle 8 is absolutely brilliant, her vocals and the lyrics are just amazing. The song takes almost 2 minutes to get to the chorus, it's a different format of song then just verse-bridge-chorus-verse-bridge-chorus-middle 8-chorus. Very cool song, with a catchy chorus (when it finally kicks in).
11. 2 Hearts (10++++/10)
This is it! The very last track on the album is my absolute favourite. This song is absolutely, utterly amazing. Heidi leads the majority of the song, singing the first verse, first bridge and leading the chorus, whereas Mutya sings the second verse and Keisha sings the middle 8. This song is so beautiful - full of amazing instrumentals (especially the ending) and a wonderful chorus with great lyrics - "2 you's, 2 me's, 2 minds to please" is just one line. I absolutely <3333 this song so much, one of my favourite Babes songs ever!
Overall, the album's quality of songs is amazing, apart from two songs, the rest is high quality and brilliant. A great 4th album, look forward to more from the Babes with Amelle.

Could it be any better?.......2006-06-21
1. Push The Button- Easily the best song of 2005 by far, a pop gem that shouldn't be overlooked, almost worth the import price by itself. 5/5
2. Gotta Be You- The girls' next single with new member Amelle, a definite club feel, a very good dance song, one of my personal faves. 5/5
3. Follow Me Home- The single the girls have out now, a slower song, not one of my faves on the first listen, but has recently grown on me. And Mutya wrote it for Tahlia so it has some sentimental value to it as well. 4.5/5
4. Joy Division- A very good song, with an almost reggaeton feel to it, but at a more slow paced level. 4/5
5. Red Dress- Probably my favorite song on the album, at first I thought it was "OK" but after seeing the video and hearing the new "Amelle Mix" it has grown on me completely. Great dance song with great beats and music, without overpowering the girls vocals. Plus Keishas voice in this song is superb! 5/5
6. Ugly- A nice mellow song with a great message behind it. Plus great vocals by Mutya in the begining. Definitely the best SLOW song on the album. 5/5
7. It Ain't Easy- Probably my least favorite of the album, BUT this song proves that the girls are unique in the pop-world considering the song has very little music, but the girls carry the song effortlessly. AND do it well! 4/5
8. Bruised- One of the best songs of the album, the chorus is when the song really picks up and gets going. Plus more awesome vocals by Mutya. 5/5
9. Obsession- A great remake of the 80's hit, that only the girls could have done with such ease. A nice dance song with that 80's feel left to it. Will definitely have you tapping your foot. 4.5/5
10. Ace Reject- One of my other favorites. The music, the chorus, the vocals, everything is perfect on this amazing track, suprisingly the girls didn't release this as a single. 5/5
11. Better- A nice song with a unique beat. Not exactly my favorite. But good nonetheless. 4/5
12. 2 Hearts- A very nice song with haunting harmony by the girls. Very good chorus as well. 5/5
13. Now You're Gone- I had expected more from this song, It's still a nice song, most likely about our dear Mutya's departure, so you have to like it a little just for that reason. I probably would have liked it a little more if it had a less R&B feel. 3/5
So all in all, this CD is about as good as pop music gets and if you are even remotely considering getting this CD, take it from a person who was in the same situation as you, I regret not getting this CD sooner, because I have been missing out all of these years! So get this CD A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!
