Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars a fun and impressive concoction.......2000-05-16

This is a pleasant surprise, as it received little press that I can remember. This is a great mix of 60's looped beats and keyboards (think Smashmouth for a parallel), with electronic tweakery and a clever use of samples on top - all served with a good sense of humor and fun.

If you sent a DJ/Producer in a time machine with some gear, he could play chunks of this at a hip beach party. Besides the cool calt"Cookies,", you get the cheeky ode to Casey Kasim on "A Dog Named Snuggles," and Aphex Twn meets Willy Wonka concoction "Toot Sweet Boogie Woogie." A few of these tracks are forgettable -"Sweet Potato" and "Spermy Daydream," but on the whole a fun and impressive concoction for those wanting something different.

5 out of 5 stars Total Agreement with Cary.......2000-04-22

I can't say it any better than Cary - only perhaps I'm easier pleased as I award Jacknife the big 5. Basically this is good fun, feel good muzak that lightens up drab days. Bouncy, beaty; too good to pass up and without a malicious bone in its body.

4 out of 5 stars PURE FUN.......2000-04-21

This has become a super find from my friend Val. One minute this disc is swinging a-la jazz grooves and the next it's a pounding beat-heavy style romp. Tons of fresh samples and noises make this a winner from front to back. Check out the infamous Casey Kasem outburst on track 5, it's an all-out riot! Casey going off backed with a breakbeat groove that won't quit, you just gotta hear it. This disc is getting reviewed because I believe it's too good to be lost in the shuffle. Fans of acts like Eon and Fatboy Slim will dig this highly! Trust me.
