Farstucker [Explicit Lyrics]

Editorial Reviews

Anybody who might think of the people of Belgium as repressed would do well to check out the Lords of Acid. On Farstucker the band continue to do what they do best: a sort of aural erotica with a beat you can dance to, if you can keep from cracking up while you do it. That's because one of the things that saves the Lords from tedium is the sense that they don't take themselves too seriously (the track "I Like It" begins with the narrator's discovery that her boyfriend likes to wear her clothes). If you're already a Lords fan, you know that this is one of their milder offerings--no matter how graphic their recordings, these are nothing compared to their live shows. There's also a fair bit of musical invention here and there behind the techno beats and the explicit vocals of Deborah Ostrega extolling the considerable virtues of sex, drugs, and rock & roll (mostly sex). With Farstucker, the Lords prove that they have lost neither their outrageousness nor their sense of humor--and that they could teach other bands in a similar vein, such as My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult or the Genitorturers, a thing or two about both. --Genevieve Williams

4 out of 5 stars new lords, same great taste.......2007-06-13

Here is the latest installment( if you don't count all the remix and greatest hits LP's) from LOA. A pretty good album. It seems that Jade4U is out of the band completely, but their new singer Deborah Ostrega is smokin hot, and sounds twice as sexy! Try and catch a live show if you can, it's outstanding. It seems, from some of the material printed on the case, that all they care about is the money. I guess you can't blame them. But as long as they continue to put out good music than I'll keep buying it.

1 out of 5 stars Dissapointing.......2003-07-04

This album was a big dissapointment. They changed the members of the group and it just isn't the same. I miss the old Lords of Acid.

5 out of 5 stars Lords or Acid- always evolving.......2003-01-10

This album is a tribute to Lords of Acid's unique sound. They have evolved to a richer and fuller sound that is pleasant to listen to if you are a LOA fan. As always the lyrics are comical and filled with explict thoughts and ideas, which stimulates the listener's sense of imagination.

1 out of 5 stars A giant pile of shucker..........2001-09-09

I was a huge Lords of Acid fan with "Lust" and especially "Voodoo-U". "Our Little Secret" has some amazing tracks but overall was a dissapoinment with all the cheesy booty tracks. I had high hopes for this cd but it was an even bigger let down. Sure they brought a little of the old flavor back but the songs are redundant, uninspired junk. I know that Lords of Acid are just playing off the kink factor now and don't worry so much about the music. I have seen them live 3 times now and they pretty much stick to the hits and add a few new songs in. The show is over the top with, well sex. And the singer is the best eye candy in the world, so when the bad songs come up you are under her spell and think everything is amazing. But when you listen to this cd it doesn't give you the same feeling. It is really, really bad songwriting and music production. Avoid this cd! Get Their first two. If you have those, then pretend they broke up and aren't putting out any new music. Sorry, Lords, I still love ya' guys, I just can't give you any more money.

5 out of 5 stars A new fine tuned Lords of Acid album that is very addictive!.......2001-08-18

I have been a Lords fan for the longest time now. I remember when I first bought the album "Lust" and I was blown away! The album had everything I could want in it. Crazy phat techno beats, a sexy woman vocalist and well made music above all. As the years went on I followed the Lords albums and with every album they got better and I became a bigger fan. Then finally they just released "Farstucker." From the moment I put it in my CD player I was blown away! The album starts out with a brutal hardcore industrial track called "Scrood Bi U." What shocked me the most is the use of guitars on the album. They used guitars back on the "Voo-Doo-U" album and now they were back to the classic hardcore industrial sound. This album is perfect for techno freaks and "freaks" in general. If you like hardcore Rob Zombie sound with a spacey techno beat then this album is for you! As a matter of fact its so hardcore that you could actually mosh to it while "Raving" at the sametime. This has to be their best album to date because of the fine tuned sound with the edge that kept them "underground." Never the less this will for sure bring more lords fans out. If you have never heard the Lords before then you need to start out with this album. It will kick open the door to the world that is the "Lords of Acid." Praise the Lords!!!!!!!!!
