5 out of 5 stars Elvis Still Rules!.......2005-08-07

I am about to have my ninth baby and I needed some music to slim down to. I am a belly dancer and I like to dance to Western music (in private) more than to the Eastern music. With two months left to go, I may dance this baby out! Very dancable, strong catchy rhythm. This is the kind of music that gets in your head and you can't get it out. . .and it's OK!

5 out of 5 stars Don't procrastinate, don't articulate.......2003-07-05

I love this update mix of a forgotten Elvis classic. It sounds really contemporary and if it will get younger people interested in the King, I'm all for it. Some people may not approve of remixing an Elvis song, but if the results are like this, I'm not gonna complain. Of course, this song was included on 30 # 1 Hits, but you have to get the single to get the six minute 12" Extended Remix. Too much of a good thing? Not as far as I'm concerned. It should be pointed out that the third version included here is not the original version from Live a Little, Love a Little. It's the version recorded for, but not used in, the '68 Comeback Special. This version was the one that was used by JXL in his remixes.

5 out of 5 stars A little less conversation, a lot more The King.......2003-06-06

In a scene from "Pulp Fiction" that never made it into the theaters Mia Wallace (as played by Uma Thurman) referred to the dichotomy of Beatles people vs. Elvis people--you can like them both, but you always like one more than the other. I've always considered myself a committed Beatles person, but if DJ Junkie XL has his way with more forgotten Elvis tunes I may have to reconsider my entire belief system!

I'll be the first to admit that I ain't no dancer, yet it's impossible to keep still to the two remixed versions of "A Little Less Conversation" included on this disc. JXL took a decent if unremarkable song that Elvis performed in the psychedelia-influenced (albeit without the drugs!) 1968 film "Live a Little, Love a Little" and turned it into something that works 35 years later. A remarkable feat in itself, and a fitting tribute to The King (whose talent also had something to do with it...).

Even the very sparse-sounding original version included as Track 3 has a nice groove to it, though it clocks in at just over 1:30 and seems a bit cut off at the end (I don't remember if the song ended so abruptly in the film). It is a pleasure to hear all three versions of the song included on this disc, which allowed me to better appreciate the contributions of both artists to "A Little Less Conversation".

5 out of 5 stars Great new remix expands ELV1S fan base.......2003-03-28

Great remix of a lesser known song has brought new found respect to a whole new generation. The song went number one in dozens of countries. I cant wait for the next remix. ELV1S recorded dozens of great songs that most people dont know about. BMG should keep remixing lesser known songs and releasing them to introduce ELV1S to millions of new fans all over the world.

5 out of 5 stars I love this guy!.......2003-03-15

This cd is proof that talent is ageless and without regard to style or custom or what's "in" or genre. Elvis is still the best singer to walk the planet. He's got the groove, the style, and he does it with heart and grace... all these years later. I think more of his songs should be brought back to life. We need music like this today to feel good about.

I also love his daughter's new cd!

Taking its cue from the soundtrack's fluke Joan Osborne hit, "One of Us," this is the film that dares ask "What if one of us--or Jim Carrey--were God?" While the comedy here makes Ace Ventura sound like Noel Coward, its soundtrack is an energetic, if pedestrian, mix of modern rock (Osborne, Plumb's "God-Shaped Hole," "You're a God" by Vertical Horizon) and electronica (Snap!'s ubiquitous "The Power", the kitsch-hop of Elvis Vs. JXL's "A Little Less Conversation," Fatboy Slim) that's as fluffy as it is friendly. John Debney, a composer who's becoming to contemporary comedy what Bernard Herrmann was to murder mysteries, fills the album's second half with a sprightly collection of his trademark, breezily pastoral cues. --Jerry McCulley

3 out of 5 stars Wish they had Barry and The Vines.......2006-12-29

I wish they would have included the Barry White song Bruce uses to seduce Grace with. Also they left out The Vines' song "Outtathaway" which is played when Bruce is driving his sportscar and parts all of the cars in traffic. I LOVE that song! But the album is OK otherwise, nice to listen to at work or while driving.

4 out of 5 stars Tony Bennett Song.......2006-01-05

Does anyone know the song Tony Bennett plays while Bruce is at the restaurante with Grace?

3 out of 5 stars God Song.......2005-08-07

The song at the beginning of the credits is: Are You Ready for A Miracle sung by The World Harvest Choir from the album: The Sound Of Jubilee.

3 out of 5 stars There's still one missing!!.......2005-05-25

I watch the DVD of Bruce.
There's a cute song during the DVD's "menu section".
It's not in the movie but I love it very much.
Anyone could help??

5 out of 5 stars The "stolen kiss" song........2005-04-10

When he is trying to call grace and gets kissed by Susan, the song that is being played is "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne from the album Let Go.

5 out of 5 stars A gift from God.......2004-05-07

I will not write a review only for this album, which is also great, but to Elvis in everything he did and represented.I am 23 now and I've been listening to his music for exactly thirteen and a half years now.He changed my life,my way of thinking and everything I was,am,or ever will be.I've cried, smiled, made love and started singing in public because of Elvis. If I had only one wish in the world it would be to spend atleast a week talking to him.I've discovered everything I know in this world with him in the CD player or somewhere in my head and just want to say one thing to him:"Goodbye my friend I wont forget you,if I need you I can hear you.King though I dont know where or when there'll be a day we'll meet again.".

WHOM ELSE BUT, ELVIS PRESLEY COULD HAVE A NO.#1 HIT AFTER HE'S BEEN GONE FOR 25 YEARS!! ALL OVER THE ENTIRE WORLD IT WAS A BIG #1 HIT SONG!! MEMPHIS WAS ROCKING FOR SURE DURING ELVIS WEEK IN TENN. HIS MUSIC IS BEING BOUGHT PLUS IT'S THE BEST MUSIC---STILL AFTER ALL THESE YEAR'S SO LET'S GIVE THE MAN THE CREDIT HE DOES SO DESERVE....... THANK YOU FOR LISTENING. B.J.F.

4 out of 5 stars The King Would Dig It.......2003-10-31

I'm a big fan of the King's, but let's be real--the production and arrangements on some of his later work didn't always do him any favors. I think it's a testimony to the long-term survivability of his work that you can take a couple of lesser-known songs like "A Little Less Conversation" and "Rubberneckin'" and update them so handsomely. I bought both as singles, each with the original, radio remix and extended dance mix, and they're both an awful lot of fun. Junkie XL's approach is funkier and more imaginative than Oakenfield's "Rubberneckin'," but that' one's still pretty fun. No doubt there'll be more of this and we'll all get sick of it eventually, but for now I say, "Thank you. Thank you very much."

4 out of 5 stars You will dig it!.......2003-07-15

Ok, so this is a remix/cover of the Elvis song.
If you saw the movie "Oceans Eleven" you know where the inspiration for this remix came from; as the Elvis song is used
in several places in that movie; and David Holmes (the guy who did Ocean's Score & fellow electronic funkster) did a instumental funk rendition for the score. I enjoyed this remix, it reminds me of when Phil Steer did a cover/remix of Stepenwolf's: "Magic Carpet" for the soundtrack to the movie "GO!". The mix is simple, and does not stray too far from the original song (which i think is a good idea). It has a throbbing drum beat, and worth every penny.
If you like FATBOY SLIM, or other artists who sample, and rework
stuff, you will love this!

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best!.......2007-06-26

This Tonic Sol-fa disc is a definite winner. The production is good and showcases their many talents. All the songs on this disc, except for one, were written by they guys, themselves. The tracks flow easily from one to another and there is something for all musical tastes. Tracks like Apartment 204 and Sweet Time highlight their songwriting, A Little Less Conversation and Who Will Love Me shows off their arranging, Velvet Jefferson brings you their sense of humor, and Boston to Beijing gives a glimpse of thigns to come. If you want an a cappella Cd that is not your typical a cappella, this is the disc for you!
