5 out of 5 stars Nothing Really Matters-except this single.......2006-06-09

I love this song. The remixes are GORGEOUS!
1. Album Version (4:28, 10/10): Just what it says.
2. Club 69 Vocal Club Mix (7:53, 10/10): Groovy! It's a real shame that the Club 69 moniker wasn't used in more remixes, because he did a great job! (For those of you who don't know, Club 69 is Peter Rauhofer, "housed-up".)
3. Club 69 Future Mix (8:20, 10/10): Really cool, but a bit too noisy and overwhelming at times.
4. Club 69 Phunk Mix (8:02, 10/10): Phunky! I love it.
5. Club 69 Speed Mix (10:39, 11/10): No, that's not a typo. I love this one to death! The bass is KILLER!
6. Kruder & Dorfmeister Remix (11:10, 10/10): Absolutely gorgeous. Very slow take on the song. It would've been even better if, after she sang "like the future", it went into ambient-breakbeat mode.
7. Vikram Remix (7:44, 10/10): Another beautifully-done chill mix.
8. Club 69 Future Dub (5:49, 10/10): Coulda been longer, but I can't give it anything less than a 10.
9. Club 69 Radio Mix (3:44, 10/10): Love this edit! It starts out like the album version, then, when M sings "because of you", you hear a cymbal crash and it goes into the Club 69 remix! Nicely done!
You should buy this single if:
a) you love to dance
b) you are a HUGE Madonna fan, like myself
or
c) you love remixes.
9 great mixes for $7.49! What more could you want?

4 out of 5 stars One of the best maxi-cd's Madonna has made!.......2006-04-11

This maxi-cd single has many remixes, mostly by Club 69. All the Club 69 mixes are great, but all have many similartities. The two other remixes by Kruder & Dorfmeister and vikram offer a different approach to the song than Club 69, very international these mixes. the Kruder & Dorfmeister remix is more of a chillout mix offering subtle beats and synths with very few vocals. The Vikram mix is a change, very eastern and is a very different mix with very wierd beats, tunes and all sorts of other instruments. The Club 69 mixes are all fantastic, all made for different moods or occasions. The album version is the classic on this CD, very haunting at the start but very upbeat, original with great beats, bass and pianos. Madonna has really put alot of effort into this song and her vocals are superb in the original and the mixes.

1. 4:28 : Album Version (This is the classic original. It is superb and excellent piece of work from Madonna!)
2. 7:53 : Club 69 Vocal Club Mix (The extended version of the radio mix. This is a great dance tune for any clubber!).
3. 8:20 : Club 69 Future Mix (The future mix is a superb and excellent club 69 mix and very popular in the clubs!)
4. 8:02 : Club 69 Phunk Mix (Although it has many elements of the club mix it is really a superb mix, my favourite on the CD!)
5.10:39: Club 69 Speed Mix (Another excellent mix, mainly appeals to people who like underground dance music, this mix has a lovely intro!)
6.11:10: Kruder & Dorfmeister Remix (A change from the dance and club mixes, a very calming and soft mix with very few vocals)
7. 7:44: Vikram Mix (Very international and more indian style than anything else. I, however, enjoyed listening to it!)
8. 5:49: Club 69 Future Dub (There wasn't any need for this mix at all, the future mix was long enough!)
9. 3:44: Club 69 Radio Mix (An edited version of the club mix, short and sweet!)

5 out of 5 stars Simply genius!.......2006-03-06

This track harks back to the glory days of Madonna's disco past, not as immediate as her older hits but, with a twist in its lyrical tale, fantastic! The video which accompanied the single was equally as impressive, harking back to the futureistic "Bedtime Story" days, inspiring other artists such as Kylie, Christina Aguilerra and Janet Jackson, elements from the video can be seen everywhere, such is Madonna's influential power! Fantastic cd package with interesting remixes! Well done Madonna, the track actually reached number 6 in the UK and number 2 on the Trans European chart!

5 out of 5 stars Love is all we need..........2005-01-17

In line with the introspective album Ray Of Light, the final single off the album Nothing Really Matters is also a revelatory single in which Madonna confessed about being self-centered in the past and finally she's beginning to embrace the notion of love and karma.

On this fantatsic maxi-single, also the last good one from Madonna, there are 9 remixes, most of which are hemlmed by Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer) and one by Talvin Singh and another by groove master Kruder and Dorfmeister. The Club 69 mixes are mostly the same except for some minor revisions in each, some made for radio, some for the clubs, but ultimately, it's remixed into a very danceable anthem that's more upbeat than the original.

The Vikram Mix is mixed with a slight middle-eastern Indian sound and comes across very chillout.

The best mix comes from Kruder and Dorfmeister which presents the song as an electronic ambient piece which brings a fresh contrast aginst the original.

Of course, there's the exceelent original version as well. A pity that this wasn't properly promoted to radio, it could have been a much bigger hit in the US.

Overall, this is a very good maxi.

5 out of 5 stars Great remixes .......2004-12-20

Great remixes of Madonna's new single 'Nothing Really Matters.' Many people say there are too many Club 69 mixes on this disc, (6) but they are different varieties. Besides these 6 fabulous remixes, it also includes the rare and main concern, the Album Version plus mixes by Kruder & Dorfmeister (also known as 'K&D') and Talvin Singh Vikram.

Here is the full tracklisting and some comments:
01 4.27 Album Version - Great song to be released for a single
02 7.51 Club 69 Vocal Club Mix - Great mix of an already great song
03 8.19 Club 69 Future Mix - An excellent and popular Club 69 mix
04 8.00 Club 69 Phunk Mix - Sounds like the Future Mix
05 10.35 Club 69 Speed Mix - The best mix on the whole CD!! (I'm listening to it now, as I write!!)
06 11.10 Kruder & Dorfmeister Mix - Excellent mix. Some good & new sounds in this mix
07 7.43 Vikram Mix - Great!! A really good mix full of weird sounds!!
08 5.48 Club 69 Future Dub - Back to Peter Rauhofer!! Just a dub of the Future Mix
09 3.45 Club 69 Radio Mix - A radio friendly mix. Fab!!

As well as this, I also reccomend the fabulous US Maxi's for Music and Don't Tell Me!!

    5 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Overlooked CD.......2005-03-18

In 1999 Madonna released the Final single from the Grammy Winning Album Ray of Light. This single is Nothing Really Matters. This is a wonderful song, that has become overlooked.

    1. Album Version: The orginial version of NRM. This is proably my favorite version. It has a haunting techno feel to it. This Version was very well Done.

    2. Club 69 Radio Mix: This is a radio friendly remix, from Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer). This version has a more techno feel to it than the album version.

    3. Kruder & Dorfmeister Mix: This is not really a true remix. It is more of a dub or an instrumental, because the only vocals are when Madonna says "Nothing takes the past away like the future". But none the less, it is still awesome. This is the most techno influnced version on this cd.

    5 out of 5 stars Amazing song.......2007-04-03

This is one of Madonna's most amazing songs, and the single is great too. It is one of my personal favorite CD Single Cover artworks for a Madonna song. The B-Side to this is okay, but the single's title track is worth every penny.

2 out of 5 stars It really does matter !.......2006-09-29

I was very disappointed with this cd single.
I love the song, but could not find a decent remix that I liked on the single.
If you are looking for a good remix of this song, then try the "Ray of Light remixes" cd.
There is a good remix of this song on it.
Buy it if you are a huge Madonna fan, otherwise forget it.

4 out of 5 stars two beautiful songs!!.......2005-03-18

This is a great CD if you don't want to buy the whole album, but the full album is also worth it!
These are two of my favorite songs from Madonna and it was a perfect matchup for this single LP.

What more can be said? It's Madonna in her new form, not her old candy pop.

    4 out of 5 stars Good Song.......2002-04-28

This song was completely overlooked in 1999, but it's really great. I recommend you get the maxi version instead, though.

4 out of 5 stars Not too shabby..........2000-05-31

Madonna doesn't fail with this decent single, though the slightly selfish "Nothing Really Matters" is upstaged here by the excellent and moody "To Have Not To Hold." If you like this, get the album "Ray of Light," where you will find both of these fine songs...

This is, by far, one of my favorite songs by Madonna. Her new video for the song creates a new respect for this peice of music. The sound is like the music of LIKE A PRAYER and a pinch of electronic rythem. I especially enjoyed the CLUB 69 remixes of "Nothing Really Matters". I pray that this will be one of her best songs and qualify to win many awards because it definately deserves it. I also hear of a B-Side being either the "CLUB 69 Remix Edit" or the RAY OF LIGHT out-take, "Blue Caress". This will be a great CD to own, so rush, rush, rush to the store or ordering co. THIS has to be the BEST Madonna remixes ever! "Nothing Really Matters" is my personal favorite, and Madonna has done it with the stunning remixes - the Kruder & Dorfmeister and Vikram remixes! Each give the song a different yet distinct quality that has earned each their own merits! Club69 does fantastic remixes also, but could have cut down on one single. Overall, it's a must buy single for any die-hard fan!
