What A Great Album.......2005-10-21

I had heard that Marco was releasing an album somewhere in the near future. As I was searching I found that not only did he have a new album coming out(200V), but he already had an album out. Let me just say that this album blew me away. Track for track, it has all his great classics here such as Godd, and Indicator. Also comes with a bonus live premix CD. My only gripe would be that the tracks are too short, but when trance is this top quality, I'm willing to give a little. This is a little spendy being only available on import, but any true Dance music fan should be used to paying import prices by now. Don't think about it, buy it right now!!!!! You won't be disapointed

Stuart's latest CD is a pleasing blend of blues and country music that is quickly getting heard across the country, from Florida to Seattle and all down the West Coast. Alice Stuart has got a unique way of treating a melody, and she knows a good song when she hears one. Although Stuart is a fine songwriter, her interpretation of other people's songs makes you feel like you're hearing the song for the first time. Listen for her exceptional versions of Chris Wall's "I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight" or Bob Dylan's "One Too Many Mornings."

Not often does an artist both entertain and inspire. Alice Stuart does both with style, finesse and a great sense of humor.

Beautiful & Melodic.......2004-09-06

This was the first of Sergio Lara's music that I've listened to and it won't be the last. It shows passion, beauty, and a sense of medody that is just wonderful. People who enjoy the acoustic side of John McLaughlin and Al DiMeola would love this cd.

I just can't decide if I should stop playing guitar altogether (because I'll never play this well and with this much fire, or keep working at it to try to come close.

New release from a guitar master........2004-09-03

Ever since I first heard the latin rhythms and exotic melodies of Sergio Lara's music in the Lara & Reyes duo I was hooked. Fans of Lara & Reyes will love Con La Lluvia, Mr Lara's new solo release. It has a wide range of appeal that won't dissapoint guitar fans hungry for a showcase from a master. It retains the strongly rooted latin influence but it also contains some new direction. My favorite pieces are Short Visit and Makada. Short Visit is a beautiful piece with a wonderful melody, reminiscent of some of John McLaughlin's acoustic work from the Belo Horizonte era. Makada is a powerful latin influenced piece that keeps you at the edge of your seat and wanting more. It's a great CD from a master of the guitar.

Guitarist Supreme.......2004-09-02

Con La Lluvia is a release by one supreme guitarist.
From start to finish the entire release holds your attention. There are a variety of musical styles displayed which only adds to the overall sound of this project. Sergio Lara is one heck of a guitarist, in fact I would dare to call him "Guitarist Supreme"
If you Love guitar music you'll Love Sergio Lara. I for one am Very happy I own a copy.

Still Raining -- Still Dreaming.......2004-07-13

Sergio Lara's latest offering, Con la Lluvia (With the Rain), displays his broad-ranging compositional skills as well as his instrumental viruosity. Sergio's trademark solos ride the crest of driving Afro-Latin rythms on such passionate and melodic tunes as Short Visit and Mikada. But the album also expresses more sensitive moods as it taps many music genres. The meloncholy traditional Llorona, for example, is a good counterpoint to the generally upbeat nature of this collection. The signature track on the album, the title cut, merges Sergio's Latin roots with Indian and Middle Eastern influences, in a fusion that is reminiscent of psychedelic rock. George Harrison (Rubber Soul), Ravi Shankar and even Jimi Hendrix Hendrix (Electric Ladyland) came to mind as I slipped, still raining -- still dreaming, in to its extended ambience. A great mix of new world music. Highly recommended.

I heard this album and realized that La Linea is a group to be reckoned with. This album is a complete piece of work. The selction of the tracks is exellent. Most of these tracks are ballads converted to merengue and the trnsition was excellent. The first cut "Cuando Se Acaba el Amor" has been done by other artists but this version is the best one I've heard so far. All the other tracks are excellent also. My favorite track is "Atrevete" which is a piece that was done by El Puma. Other tracks you are sure to like are "Sera por Ti", "Esperanza", and "Hasta Que me Olvides". The production in this album is great. With more albums like this Merengue is sure to stay on top of the game for a long time. If you love listeting to good songs with soft sounds, good mambos and deep meaning this is the perfect album. If you thought "Al Rojo Vivo" was good, this album is much better. This one is going into my classics collection.

Another hit for La Linea. The CD includes mostly romantic merengues. it icludes former hits by Enrique Iglesias and So Pra Contariar....now in merengue form....and of course the best track in the CD "Atrevete" this is a must buy for merengue fans .
