Blue Suenos

Editorial Reviews

Music Design May 2005
"Great album if you like diverse, fresh-sounding Latin music that inspires relaxation as much as it does dancing!"

Product Description
Blue Sueños – One word in Spanish and one in English – both words together describe the cross-cultural, dreamy, languid vibe of this collection. Inspired by the endless rich grooves emanating from all the Latin cultures, this is an infectious collection of forgotten finds, previously unreleased original tracks and new remixes of traditional as well as modern Latin sounds. It is fleshed out with new music from the vibrant Nortec scene out of Tijuana, vintage cinematic son combos, Puerto Rican guitar hallucinations and remix productions from Charles Webster, Bill Laswell and subsonic hip-hopper Fat Jon. Blue Sueños is the lazy sound of "Mañana."

Produced by KCRW's Liza Richardson (Lords of Dogtown)

5 out of 5 stars Magical music.......2007-03-15

I almost passed on this CD when it was given to me. Good grief! Now it is one of my favorite albums. "Intelectual" by Kevin Johansen & The Nada Cumbiera is a good one to preview (above). Love every song, though. Rich, silky, sophisticated -- makes you feel like you're in a cool movie.

5 out of 5 stars Blue Suenos - dream listening.......2005-07-28

This CD takes the listener on a musical journey to places we dream of when we are caught up in the mundane of the every day. These dreamy tracks swept me away from the mundane into the magical. A wonderful collaboration, an eclectic compilation.
