On his first solo album, former New Kid Jordan Knight turns in a surprisingly stylish record that, though hardly unflawed, makes a convincing case for him as a grownup pop singer in the tradition of George Michael. (Or perhaps that of Robert Palmer, to whom Knight bears a remarkable vocal resemblance. Of course, Palmer hasn't been this with-it since the new-wave days of Clues.) The R&B stylings of the disc's first few numbers make for its most convincing music; "A Different Party" could actually draw a crowd to the dance floor. Less successful, if well-enough sung, are the ballads that fill most of the second half's space. It's a relief when a lively but pedestrian 95 South remix of the first cut, "Give It to You," appears at the end. This album is a relaxing mix of new songs and remakes of classics. Jordan shows his creative side by writing his new songs and proves that remakes don't always suck. It is a must have for any New Kids On The Block fan or anyone looking for a cd to pop on to help them unwind.

Not Too Bad.......2007-03-08

I'm not a big fan of romantic songs in general, but I was a huge NKOTB fan back in the day, so I decided to give this a try. I have to say that I was surprised at how good the CD was. Jordan's orginal songs were ok, but the best part of the CD was his covers. His interpretation of the covers on the CD were surprisingly well done. His voice has developed really well, and now he just needs some direction on choice of songs. I would check this out for a romantic evening.

I have been a fan of Jordan Knight and the other New Kids since 1988. I remeber seeing them in concert when I was 13 back in 1990. Here it is 16 years later and I am still following what the boys are up to. Although Jordan's self titled debut took a while to grow on me, when it did I was hooked. The Fix is a well balanced EP of new material. I was hoping for a whole album, but an EP is way better than nothing. Anyway, when I bought it I instantly loved it. Its about half ballads and half up-tempo tracks. A different but still intelligent non-sappy pop album. I don't know what to compare it to because it really holds its own in terms of sound and style. Probably not too many people know about this EP, but those that do can appreciate it and enjoy it. I'm happy Jordan and Joey are still making music that is even better than their group stuff. As long as you keep making music Jordan, I will buy it. Love Songs is great too, although I can't wait for an album of all new material. Keep em coming Jordan.

Wow! Fantastic album!.......2006-06-01

This recent offering from Jordan Knight proves how he's matured musically since his NKOTB days. There are a couple of ballads on there which are amazing, including "Where Is Your Heart Tonight" (which has done really well in the US A/C charts) and "Have You" - both are the gorgeous love songs you'd expect from JK and not at all like the cheesy 80's offerings from his New Kids past (although I did love NK's too! LOL!).

The rest of the album is up-tempo. The title track "The Fix" is a fast raunchy tune featuring music greats Doug. E Fresh and Slick Rick that you just can't help dancing to!

"Don't Cry" is a dance track that actually did brilliantly in the Spanish charts, hence the reason for a Spanish version on the album! I love it! It shows Jordan's amazing falsetto off fantastically against a different beat, proving he's a master of all musical genres!

My personal favourite on the album is "Keep It On The Sly", again upbeat, this tune tells the sexy story around keeping a relationship secret! It's fab, you'll love it!

All told, if you don't love this album I'll be surprised! Don't think New Kids, think US version of George Michael - there's always something different and brilliant coming!

Certainly "Fixed" my longing for some new Jordan Knight music!.......2006-05-03

As Jordan's first full studio album came out in 1999, it was a long wait for The Fix. So was it worth it? I knew it was the moment I heard the first track. Where Is Your Heart Tonight is a stirring ballad and it's hard to say whether I preferred this version or the acoustic version which follows later on. Have You, another ballad, really showcases Jordan's amazing falsetto voice and shows that he certainly still has "The Right Stuff"! (New Kids fans will know what I'm talking about here)

The Fix, Keep It On The Sly and Your Man are more uptempo r'n'b tracks which not only had me tapping my toes in time to the beat but also brought back great memories of the times I have been lucky enough to see this very talented singer and performer live in concert - not to be missed if you get the chance. There's even a Spanish version of "Don't Cry" on this CD!

If you are a Jordan Knight or New Kids On The Block fan, this CD is a must for your collection. If you aren't, give it a try, I think you'll be won over!

Never Heard of Him Until..........2007-05-20

I saw a go-go themed video on YouTube that would've made a great music video for "A Different Party" a few weeks ago. After asking around, I finally found out who did the song, and now I'm in TOTAL SHOCK seeing that he's a former NKOTB. All the music on this CD is slick - Jordan proves here that he's no kid. The other thing that shocks me is tthe fact that this CD is from 1999! Sonya McLeod is RIGHT when she says it's TIMELESS! I certainly GOTTA have this one!

I really enjoy this cd. Jordan sings from his heart as always. any one who knows Jordan must own his cd. The ones who don't know him listen to the demos. They are really good just give him a chance. You will really enjoy this cd.

My favourite album... EVER!.......2006-06-01

So we waited five years after the New Kids split for this first solo offering from Jordan Knight, but wow he used the time wisely because this album is fantastic! It was co-produced with the help of music legends Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and a lot of the songs were co-written with the very talented Robin Thicke. The album went platinum in the US when it was released in 99 and the first single off the album, "Give It To You" hit the top ten all over the world.

"Give It To You" is a raunchy up-tempo song basically about him knowing a girl wants him. It's begins slightly bizarrely with a fairground waltz for a few beats (which only really makes sense when you see the tongue-in-cheek mimic video of the movie classic Grease), but the rest of the song alternates between funky verses and a really catchy, dance beat chorus (with absolutely fantastic choreography in the video by Darrin Hensen). If you manage to sit still through this tune, I'd be amazed! It's also been remixed time and again for clubbers!

The majority of the album are ballads but the other fast track is "A Different Party" which is a total floor-filler with it's funky beat.

The ballads on the album also wont disappoint. JK's voice has matured beautifully over the years and he's never lost that incredible falsetto he was so famed for in the New Kids and he puts it to great use on several of the tracks on the album.

My personal favourites in the ballads that I must mention are "Change My Ways" which is simply beautiful, "Close My Eyes" which is a fantastically alternate sound to most ballads of today - I'm sure if it had been released it would have been a huge hit! The last ballad I have to mention is "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" which is actually a cover of a Prince song, but slowed down to a stunningly soulful pace. I'd be amazed if you didn't love it!

All in all, this is a surprising album for most that listen to it expecting more New Kids On The Block style tracks because JK's come so far from those days it's difficult to believe he's the same man! No cheese near this album that's for sure! Listen with an open mind and you'll love it!

Timeless.......2006-04-26

This is quite simply one of the best albums ever produced. Jordan Knight is a severly underrated vocalist and has a falsetto that could rival anyone's. It has production by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Robin Thicke (formally Thicke) and by JK himself. If you are a fan of melody and true vocalists this album is for you. Don't let Jordan Knight's past allow you to miss out on this wonderful masterpiece.

Having been a NKOTB fan back in my youth, I was at first kinda shocked by the fact that Jordan would actually go back and re record his former hits. I thought at first it kinda sad that he would resort to doing that just to make money or get his name back out. So I didn't get this album right away when it came out. But then a year later when I saw it on amazon for cheap I said what the heck I'll get it just because if anything I could always resell it on ebay. But when I first popped the cd in and listened to it I was blown away. He had given the old hits and makeover without taking away too much from the old sound. Some of the songs actually sound better now than the originals. The only thing though is I have to agree with the other guy that he shouldn't have done "Please don't go girl". That song just didn't match him. Or he should have done it different. Other than that the music for it was beautiful. As well the other ballads like "Baby I believe in you", and "Let's try again" which are some of my favorite songs on this album. His rendition of "I'll be your everything" however is absolutely flawless and proves he has some mad vocal skillz. Platinum productions who did the pop side did an excellent job. As for the european side I didn't care for it as much. If this album had the backing of a big record company though it would've been cool if he could have worked with "the neptunes", jimmy jam and lewis, or babyface for the pop side. And maybe with max martin and the other producers from sweden (who made their european sound famous with BSB, Nsync, and Britney) for the european side . But all in all this album was put together very well. It made me a believer in Jordan again. But what really could have put this over the top is if he had all the fellas singing together with him. That would have made it totally complete. I really wish they would reunite some time soon even for a one time thing for their fans. So if you are a NKOTB or Jordan fan this is a must get. If anything just buying it for "I'll be your everything" would be worth your money.

The Ballads Make It Work.......2006-12-03

Jordan Knight is a singer best at ballads and he's in top form on Please Don't Go Girl, Valentine Girl and If You Go Away. Every thing else on here is cookie cutter pop.

I think that this CD ROCKS!! I have been a BIG New Kids fan since way back in 86 and I have always wanted to hear Jordan sing all of the songs, I thought that was every girls dream come true. Well, this CD made that dream come true for me!!! I especially love his voice on Baby, I Believe In You, If You Go Away and This One's For The Children. His voice sounds so mature and sexy!!! This is a MUST buy if you're a true fan!!

Simply Beautiful!.......2006-06-01

This was the second single release from Jordan Knight's first solo (self-titled) album, and I have to say, it's fantastic!

It's a cover of Prince's 1987 hit, but slowed to a stunning and soulful pace to create an incredible ballad Jordan must be very proud of! In case you never caught Prince's version (where were you?!), it's a song about him meeting a woman who's recently split from her man and obviously wants him to take the ex's place, but he refuses saying he could never give her what she needs. A real tear-jerker of a song! (And I have to agree with that other reviewer, WAY better than Prince's version - sorry!!). The video to the song was actually featured on MTV's "Making The Video" and is brilliant! (And very hot in parts!)

The remixes also on the single are fab! Very nice work indeed!

This song is beautiful and mellow and you'll love it! Check it out!!

I know I'm going to get beat up by the Intergalactic Alliance of Prince Supporters, but I'm gonna' say it anyway!!!! This version is WAY BETTER than Prince's version. There. I said it. Don't believe me? Listen to both of them sometime, and judge for yourself. If you still don't believe me, TOUGH! It's better, and that's that.

Typically, fast remixes of ballads sound contrived, but this one really works. If you like the song as it normally is, these remixes will only further your enjoyment of Jordan's great version of Prince's song.

I love I could never take the place of your man.. It's a really good song. BUT... if all you want is the ballad, I suggest you buy the whole Jordan Knight CD because that song is there along with all of Jordan's awesome music.. and yes all the songs on "Jordan Knight" are beautiful and awesome. The reason why I gave this CD 5-stars is because the remixes on here are hella tight! Usually, I think that ballad remixes are really cheezy, but this one really works. Besides that, the club mix of Give it to you is really really good. Trust me, it's not the same you would be suprised. 5-stars goes to the mixers on this one.

Fabulous Track!!!.......2006-06-01

OK, I was kind of surprised at this first single from Jordan Knight after NKOTB split in 94 - it was totally unexpected to get such a raunchy tune, but I love it!

It begins (and ends) rather bizarrely with a fairground music snip which doesn't make sense until you watch the video, which is a fantastic mimic of the carnival scene in Grease (although the dance sequences far surpass that of the film with the incredible choreography talents of Darrin Hensen, which JK performs flawlessly I might add!). The rest of the song alternates between funky verses and a fast and catchy chorus that's just so original, it's brilliant!

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did their usual fab job of writing and co-producing the track and the end result is a truly amazing and talented singer with an amazing song you can't help but dance to! Check it out!!

I think that Jordan Knight's cd is real cool. I don't have it yet, but i kinda want it. I think his new song "Start Back From One" is the best. 1. your like a dream come true, 2. just want to be with you, 3. just wait and see, that your the only one for me and 4. it's like 1.2.3. and etc. well i really do love his songs. I mean it's like they are real great, I just like the beat and the rythm. I gave him 5 stars because I really like the beat of his songs and the rythm.

When I first heard the "words" to the song I was shocked, but pleased. I've been a fan since NKOTB. It makes me happy that Jordan came back with this kind of "in your face disbelievers" to show he still has the talent to keep going.

I have to admit that when I first heard the song, I wasn't impressed. I used to be a huge NKOTB fan and had waited so long for his solo efforts to come to fruition, I'd almost given up. And then, when I finally heard "Give It To You", it was not what I expected. But it grew on me. I really like the remix version. The only thing I don't like is the circus music and the Tiny Tim bit at the very end! If he'd left that out, the song would've been so much better! But it's a great song to dance to!

Fabulous Track!!!.......2006-06-01

OK, I was kind of surprised at this first single from Jordan Knight after NKOTB split in 94 - it was totally unexpected to get such a raunchy tune, but I love it!

It begins (and ends) rather bizarrely with a fairground music snip which doesn't make sense until you watch the video, which is a fantastic mimic of the carnival scene in Grease (although the dance sequences far surpass that of the film with the incredible choreography talents of Darrin Hensen, which JK performs flawlessly I might add!). The rest of the song alternates between funky verses and a fast and catchy chorus that's just so original, it's brilliant!

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did their usual fab job of writing and co-producing the track and the end result is a truly amazing and talented singer with an amazing song you can't help but dance to! Check it out!!

I think that Jordan Knight's cd is real cool. I don't have it yet, but i kinda want it. I think his new song "Start Back From One" is the best. 1. your like a dream come true, 2. just want to be with you, 3. just wait and see, that your the only one for me and 4. it's like 1.2.3. and etc. well i really do love his songs. I mean it's like they are real great, I just like the beat and the rythm. I gave him 5 stars because I really like the beat of his songs and the rythm.

When I first heard the "words" to the song I was shocked, but pleased. I've been a fan since NKOTB. It makes me happy that Jordan came back with this kind of "in your face disbelievers" to show he still has the talent to keep going.

I have to admit that when I first heard the song, I wasn't impressed. I used to be a huge NKOTB fan and had waited so long for his solo efforts to come to fruition, I'd almost given up. And then, when I finally heard "Give It To You", it was not what I expected. But it grew on me. I really like the remix version. The only thing I don't like is the circus music and the Tiny Tim bit at the very end! If he'd left that out, the song would've been so much better! But it's a great song to dance to!

I haven't ever listened to this c.d. before. I don't own it either. I am also not planning on buying it. Jodan knight is pretty good though. I would have to say I am a fan. I rated this c.d. a 5, even though I've never heard it before. It could be a good c.d. It sounds like a pretty good c.d. to me. I'd say it defienately deserves five stars. This is a high quality five star c.d. By the way, don't grow a mullet.
