This is fantastic music with great sound quality. If there was ever any music good enough to motivate someone to dance or at least move around at an otherwise less than lively gathering, Double Dutch Bus would be it. As a fine example of the great music created in the early 80's, it brings back some fun memories. The lyrics are very entertaining as well. I am so glad I purchased this CD for my collection on this, the silver anniversary of Double Dutch Bus.

Worst Dance Song!!.......2004-02-03

I am a huge fan of old school rap ie. Sugarhill, but I have to say Frankie is just wack. His pop/funk/preudo-rap single Double Dutch Bus plagued danceclubs in 1981 and I hope it never comes back. It has a mind numbing beat, and frankies voice is bizzarre and scarry.

Frankie Smith and the Double Dutch Bus rock the house. You cannot lose with this fun music -- re-mastered CD sound quality is excellent BTW. Someone told me there is an investigative reports show about Smith and this record -- he claims he never got a cent for this proto-rappinghood slice of brilliance. Wouldn't be the first time that happened. There must be some connection between this and Malcolm MaClaren's Double Dutch cut on Duck Rock -- not to mention that Missy Elliot track with the Asian kid -- if they were't straight samples of DDB they were sure copying the style. This CD release has added original 12" mix, and a re-mix. Frankie Smith rocks the house!

Why I Like "Double Dutch Bus".......2003-03-16

Well, the other night, i was listen to the oldies station with my parents and my little brother, and the "Double Dutch Bus" came on. My dad told me how it was a "One Hit Wonder". I LOVE that song. It has an AWESOME beat and it is really cool. I also realized that Missy Elliot must have taken parts of this song for her song, "Gossip Folks". I really wanted to know who wrote this song, so I went to a search engine, and it pointed me to here! I would LOVE to buy this album, I think its a GREAT way to get parents and kids to listen with each other because its cool for the kid, and the parents remember it.

I just wish that this band wrote more songs. You can hear the potential in this song and can imagine what others by this band would have sounded like. Double Dutch Bus is funky and the mix of disco and funk lifts you up. A must for any disco or funk listener. Keep this in you car and listen to it on the way to work or in a traffic jam. It will take your mind off things. This one also takes me back to my time, the only time.
