Editorial Reviews
It was in 1983 that Howard Jones released his first single 'New Song' in the UK. The single steadily climbed the UK chart to peak at No. 3. Then came the second single 'What Is Love?' which reached No. 2 in the UK and the third single the enigmatic 'Hide & Seek' which showed the spiritual side of Howard Jones' writing. This was followed by the first album 'Human's Lib' which came straight in at No. 1 in the UK in April 1984, eventually going platinum and which took the synthesiser and Howard to a new plateau. This success spread across the globe with 'Human's Lib' going gold in USA, Japan, Germany, Italy and Australia. The second album 'Dream Into Action' was even more successful spawning a series of hits including 'Like To Get To Know You Well', 'Look Mama', 'Things Can Only Get Better' and the classic 'No One Is To Blame' which reached No.1 in the U.S. singles chart. The album was co-written by dba's Robbie Bronnimann, there is great excitement about this new cutting edge collection of tracks. It will include Revolution of the Heart and Just Look at You Now. Remixes of both these tracks have already been released on vinyl in the UK. Revolution of the Heart reached No.17 in the UKs Club Chart and 7 in the UKs DMC chart in November 2003. Just Look at You Now reached 19 in the UKs Club Chart and No 14 in the DMC Chart. (May 2004). Central Station. 2005.

Great musical arrangement.......2007-05-30
Just listen to him now!.......2006-10-18
There are some club bangers on this CD. Take a listen to "Celebrate Our Love", "Stir It Up" and my personal favourite, the title track. Some of the other reviewers have panned Howard's previous releases, like "People" and "In The Running". Those albums are just as good - they just lean a bit more towards the Adult Contemporary genre. Either way, it's all good. I just love hearing any material from Howard. Hey, he's making music for his fans...don't criticize him for it!
I'll be checking out his concert when he plays in Toronto on October 27. I'm hoping the live performances will be somewhat experimental and that we'll have the chance to see him play the synths once again. Whatever the case, I highly recommend this album for true HoJo fans and anyone else who may be curious about his discography. Enjoy.
All I can say is WOW.......2006-10-03
Amazing album.......2006-04-22
Overall it's pretty laid back, heavy on techno keyboards, and (thankfully) lacks any cheesy songs like "Tomorrow Is Now". The tunes all flow together nicely and I don't ever find myself skipping any tracks.
I loved it, it was better than "Cats". I'm going to listen to it again, and again.
a real return to form ..... .......2006-03-15
You go, Howard!! This is one hell of a release and I highly recommend it to any Ho-Jo fan. This is music to be RESPECTED!

Remembering Past Enchantments And Past Ills.......2004-06-07
With the Leone scores, Morricone created musical pieces structured like complex mathematical equations, many of which were suffused with a driving, hypnotic, and archetypal power. In fact, the soundtrack for The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly was so dramatically dynamic that it thoroughly outstripped the finished film in terms of imaginative potential. Only with Once Upon A Time In The West did Leone create a film well crafted and realized enough to match Morricone's entrancing, playful, and occasionally perditious score. Similarly, Dario Argento's The Bird With The Crystal Plumage (1969) almost completely failed to utilize Morricone's contribution, the best portions of which were heard only dimly and sporadically in the finished film. Leone's late masterpiece, Once Upon A Time In America (1984), two - thirds a perfect film, also failed to fully rise to the occasion of Morricone's simultaneously poignant, wistful, and wonderfully exuberant score.
Today, Morricone's work is available on literally hundreds of soundtracks and soundtrack compilations dedicated to the composer, very few of which are entirely satisfying. An Ennio Morricone Anthology (1995), which contains 45 tracks from 39 films produced in Italy from 1965 onward, perpetuates this frustrating tradition.
Of the 45 tracks, about a third represent Morricone realizing or approaching the height of his talent, another third are fairly interesting but ultimately repetitious and self-cannibalizing, and the final third, which may have worked reasonably well within the context of the films they were written for, never rise above the status of shrill, discordant, and bellowing kitsch (several attempt a Henry Mancini - like levity and fall flat). In fact, there is a great deal of healthy, raw, and leveling vulgarity even in some of Morricone's most famous compositions, such as "Le Vent, Le Cri" from 1981's The Professional and "Chi Mai" from 1971's Maddalena, both of which are included.
Those seeking haunting compositions on the scale of "L'Estasi Dell 'Oro" or "Il Triello" from The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly or "Poverty" from Once Upon A Time In America will be disappointed to find very few pieces approaching their caliber here, especially if already familiar with such well - known pieces such as "Moscow Farewell" from the 1987 film of the same name or the otherworldly "Il Gatto A Nove Code" from The Cat O' Nine Tails (1971).
As compositions of vastly different quality are interspersed amongst one another in dizzying array, many may find An Ennio Morricone Anthology virtually impossible to listen to from beginning to end without skipping tracks repeatedly. As a genius whose greatest compositions address both the immanent and the transcendent, both perdition and salvation, both the archaic and the modern, Morricone and his admirers deserve a more carefully selected and thoughtfully produced anthology than this haphazard collection offers.
Delightful scores from Ennio Morricone.......1998-12-19

HJ Forever.......2007-01-03
For this particular album, I love the "Revolution of the Heart","Just look at you now" and "Black & White".
"Celebrate Our Love" is a great dance song. "Another Chance" has a great tune with a slow ballads. "Stir it up" is another catchy dancable tune.
Overall I will definite recommend this album to all especially to Howie's fan!!
I LOVE Howard Jones!!!
Good comeback........2006-04-27
All that being said, the album is still not up to the musical sophistication I would expect from HoJo. The riffs and rhythms get a bit over-used and cliche' from song to song. There is just not the seperate entity dynamics from song to song like there used to be in all aspects on his other albums. No horns on this album either. Howard usually makes some good use of them. Still worth owning and it gives me some hope for the future if he can continue to spend some more time appreciating all the possibilities his equipment provides. Howard Jones kind of bridges the gap between new wave and new age for me and it's what I'm still craving to hear.
The bonus tracks are well worth getting, they are all good dance track remixes and I'm glad they got the chart attention they deserved. Pick up this import.
The Heart and Soul of Howard Jones with an added bonus.......2005-11-30
It's fresh and smart with a lot going on in the production department to keep it interesting on subsequent listenings. It's definitely a grower, and you'll find yourself singing the tunez long after you've left the house.
There is not a bad track on the album, and it's obvious that Howard and his co-producer Robbie Bronniman have put their heart and soul into every aspect.
"Celebrate Our Love" is a strong intro track. I also much like the first single, "Just Look At You Now", the title track "Revolution of the Heart", and especially "Stir It Up", which I think would make a great single if Howard manages to get back in the limelight with this one.
The album doesn't slow down and you are left with the strong driving beat of "For You, See Me" ringing in your ears and a voice inside you saying "That was great - let's do that again", as you almost subconsciously reach for the Play button to restart the experience.
I got hold of the limited edition Australian release which has a bonus CD containing dubs and remixes. Of the new tracks, the John B Drum and Bass mix of "For You See Me" is the only ROTH track that I really prefer to listen to over the album version. It is extremely catchy and danceable and actually enhances the album track. The remixes are meant to be danced to, and are probably great for that, but are a bit repetitive when they are just passively listened to. We have more than just remixes of new tracks. We have some new takes on classics like "Things Can Only Get Better" and "What Is Love". The other highlight of this disc, is the remake of "Like to Get to Know You Well" by The Young Punx called "Slip Away" which they released under the name "Mohito".
This is a great new angle of a classic song in the vein of many other similar tracks which are reviving the dance clubs with a fresh rejuvenation of classic 80's tracks.

Album Description
Everyone is familiar with his Worldwide hits. 'To All The Girls I've Loved Before' (Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson), 'It Never Rains In Southern California', 'Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now' (Starship), 'The Air That I Breathe' (The Hollies, Jose Feliciano, Phil Everly, Olivia Newton John, Simply Red, Barry Manilow), 'Good Morning Freedom' (Elton John), 'When I Need You' (Leo Sayer) and 'One Moment In Time' (Whitney Houston) - they were all written by Albert Hammond. His songs have also been sung by artists like Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Nancy Sinatra, Rod Stewart and Jose Carreras, but the list could go on and on....But his fame is not founded in his success as a songwriter, it's his success as a musician that we know him for. During the mid and late 70´s, it seemed like the waters around him had stilled. But that's a mirage. He began a second career in his chosen homeland Spain, which stemmed from his Gibraltar childhood, and with My Spanish Album began what was to be a series of Spanish language albums. His career as songwriter was to follow as his third job in music. On top of all that, he wanted to spend more time with his son, Albert Hammond Jr..The father´s talent obviously spilled over to his son, who is now famous Worldwide as the guitarist of The Strokes. After a few years without a solo release, 2005 is the perfect time for another Albert Hammond CD. The album is a collection of charmingly charismatic personal songs, the work of a master of the traditional singer-songwriter school, and performed without a net so to speak. There are no overdubs or technical tricks to be found on the entire album. From the beginning, Albert Hammond wanted to write and play music that one can perform on stage. And with that in mind, the release of Revolution Of The Heart will be accompanied by various live concerts - and Mr. Hammond is a phenomenon live. As always, he brings a unique message across from the stage, driven by the album that proudly presents both the romantic and rebelliousness of it's title. And a revolution of the heart can be nothing less. SPV. 2005.
