Product Description
By incorporating elements of electronic, rock, and jazz, Dub Trio are simultaneously revolutionizing and paying homage to King Tubby’s original style dub. And, like any great band, they make it sound so easy; using the simplicity of dub to house a complex and unique musical vision, Dub Trio are on their way to creating something entirely new.

4 out of 5 stars Igloo Magazine's REVIEW.......2005-12-02

Review by: John Reveles, Igloo Magazine (www.igloomag.com)
(08.14.05) Dub trio make music for kids that like to color outside the lines, and Exploring the Dangers Of finds every hidden aspect and every rubbery note of it colored with radioactive Crayolas. The trouble is their focus is preoccupied with saturating everything with shades of Burnt Sienna and nothing else, which can be a good thing and a bad thing at the same time.

The jam-style direct-to-tape approach is nothing new, but I tip my hat to DP Holmes, Stu Brooks and Joe Tomino for having the skills to coax a full-scale sonic assault from only three live musicians throughout the course of the album's eight tracks. From "Drive By Dub" to "Sick Im," Dub Trio serve up a salty/sweet stew of reggae, jazz and electro that does have a little certain something extra, especially on the aptly named "Fur Boots on the Party Moose," but even then, the interesting combination of these ingredients can't justify going back for seconds; just skip ahead to dessert and then hit those mutated coloring books again.

With the promising experience of recently touring with Meat Beat Manifesto under Dub Trio's belt, I confidently suspect the vast variety of other colors in that toxic 64 color box won't have to worry about collecting glow in the dark dust much longer.

5 out of 5 stars YEAH, MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-12-02

I never was much for reggae/dub until recently I started listening to cats like Pre-Fade Listening, Richard Dorfmeister, Fauna Flash, Thievery Corporation and Stereotyp who manage to mix electronica and ambient elements with Rastafarian sounds. Now comes Dub Trio--and like their name implies, these are three guys who do dub and they do it well--and more than that--they do it live and in real-time! This one is a must for any fan of reggae who wants a little something different from this oftentimes redundant sounding genre.

5 out of 5 stars This is one of the best modern dub cds in a while.......2005-01-13

I have to say that I am very particular with dub music, but I am in enslaved to Ryan Moore's Twilight Circus Sound System, King Tubby,Yabba You and The Scientist esp. This cd it's great. It has a modern touch that still holds to true dub style, honestly you have to hear it and then you will understand. I really like this cd and I can't wait for them to play at the Elbow room in SF.

5 out of 5 stars This Is The Good Stuff.......2004-10-25

EXTREMELY good dub CD; heavenly free from vocals;
tastefully incorporates some subtle electronica;
REALLY GETS IT RIGHT. I thank you, Dub Trio
and grade you A+.
