Cotton Eyed (or Eye) Joe, the Rednex song.......2006-05-20

I'm a music teacher for elementary school kids. I have another version of Cotton Eyed Joe that 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders love to dance to, but the Rednex version is the one for which they always ask. Unfortunately, I haven't yet found it for sale as a single.

Although Rednex call their album and single Cotton Eye Joe, more commonly the word "Eye" in the song title is followed by a "d."

I have not heard the other songs on this CD - and in fact, haven't even heard the one I'm reviewing. This is actually a review by proxy for about 300 children.

I really prefer the original version. You just can't compare this to each other. It's just nothing special now. The original from 1994 was a special song in a way that never had been heard before... Beside this the new female singer doesn't get really high like the original one
