Product Description
The Hotel Byblos and It's Resident Club Les Caves Du Roy Present the Third Collection of Music as Heard on the Premises. Since it Opened in 1967 by Brigitte Bardot, the Hotel Has a Reputation of Being Synonymous with Luxury, Celebration and Sensuality. The First Disc Presents a Mellow Mix of Bossa Nova, Trip Hop and Easy Listening Tracks Compiled by Jean-yves Leloup and Eric Pajot. The Lavishness of Saint Tropez Nightlife Comes Alive on the Second Disc with a Subtle Cocktail of Current Releases and Classic Standards Mixed by Jack E., The Resident DJ of the Caves. Pamper Yourself, Relax and Enjoy this Outstanding Set from this Fabulous Saint Tropez Landmark.
To my mind, the best are: a knockout version of "Call Me" by Nancy Wilson; an instrumental version of "The Look of Love"; and a startlingly original song by Doris Day called "Por Favor".
The overall influence of the songs is Latin and perfect for any party. I went to a favorite bar of mine and asked the bartender to put the CD on the sound system; before long, everyone was asking him where they could buy the CD.
The downside is that the second CD is what I suppose is called "house music" for Hotel Byblos' disco. It's the sort of music that has always bored me to tears -- tribal music, I guess might be another term, i.e., no melody.
So, basically you are paying $32 for one terrific disc and another that is forgettable.
See you in St. Tropez!
